Dragunov's voice actor puts so much passion in this character.
Great grunts like always
Thank you! I'm flattered!
Actually OG VA Died, his name was Kenichi Morozumi.
@@FiercelyFuriousRest in peace Kenichi 😢😢😢
Best voice performance in the last decade
Victor: "Long time no see, white angel of death."
Dragunov: 🗿
He can't talk he is mewing
In a world where everyone is super human, devils, half-devils, half-robot, robot, or just straight up evil gods. You have Dragunov, a man who is really good at folding people's clothes with them still in it.

Always a pleasure seeing Dragunov's friendly face
😊
Looks like a great win screen.
The ice attack was great...Shame he cannot do something like that as a normal attack. A lot of these characters make me want to try them despite not being bothered in previous games.
What are you looking at?
Sergei Dragunov, probably, as he stares into the camera after beating Victor up.
friendly face of murder
He looks better than Steve Botched
He's just as quirky, creepy, brutal, and untalkative as ever. Man, I love this character.
And aggressive. Yes, the whole point of T8 is aggressiveness, but this guy takes the cake. He's ready to beat you to death in more ways than you can imagine. I do NOT want to be at the end of his fists.
And aggressive too.
He's literally the most boring one 😂

The crawl / stand up introduction is disturbing,
Dragunov look like a half parodic half really badass character, and its so sophisticated, like a antagonist from Metal Gear Solid
Love it
😂 I was like: Dude, why you crawling?
Just like The Joker :D
I thought I was the only one who thought he was from metal gear solid
He sure inspired by MGS the crawling it's the example other then explaing HUGE flexibility and strength by moving so fast and get instantly up
@@bLAMURAmmhh thatz why I made him the joker in tekken 7 😼
Dragunov simply the "action speaks louder than words"
Just look at the waste of bodies he have walked over and done with speaks enough what kind of character he is, words are meaningless when your fists and methods have or had done the necessity.
I like how Dragunov breaks the 4th wall, being funny in a cold cool way
Dragunov hates the 4th wall 😂😂😂😂😂
Does he really? It's a tournament so they know they are being recorded. Same with Jack running into camera.
@@jerzyk7724I was thinking that, I'm like "did he just break the 4th wall?" But I forgot a lot of people in T7 have breaking the camera/interacting with the camera outro. (Julia, Miguel, jack, lei.)

Dragunov's camera interaction is gold.
Lot of swagger in his step, and character in his body language.

As far as I know, Dragunov is one out of three Tekken characters who is technically an MMA fighter. Yes, he is a Sambist, but Sambo itself is a mix of Judo, (Amateur/Combat) Wrestling, Jiujitsu, and a little bit of Boxing and Kickboxing. In Dragunov's case, his Sambo utilizes mostly Ne Waza Judo, a little bit of Freestyle Wrestling, and lots of Military Kickboxing.
The other two fighters are Paul Phoenix and Craig Marduk. Marduk is self-explanatory since he is basically a big bad Alexander Volkanovski in Heel persona, but Paul is a Karateka/Tang Soo Do practitioner, Judoka, and Kenpo practitioner, meaning he is a mixed martial artist, or an MMA fighter, just not in a modern sense like the one you see in UFC, ONE Championship, or PFL. Being a US American, Paul probably wrestles during highschool, too, unless he never even attended school in the first place.
EDIT: Forgot to mention Lee Chaolan. He practices (Mishima-style) Karate, (Wang Jinrei's) Kenpo, and (probably Law's) JKD, which means he is also a mixed martial artist, but in a traditional sense. Looking at his Sway, he probably practices Boxing or Kickboxing, too.
Bruce, Josie, Fahkumram, Hwoarang, Baek
@@r3a1itygamezz14 Bruce is a kickboxer, and Fahkumram a Muay Thai practitioner, as far as I know. They don't seem to practice anything else. As for Hwoarang and Baek, if they also practice Hapkido, then, yes, they are also MMA fighters, but in a traditional sense.
Not entirely sure about Josie Rizal.
not kickboxing it has karate. shotokan or kyokushin in kicks
@@ErnestoTorres-hw7du Striking-focused traditional martial arts tend to have not only similar, but outright identical techniques because either they have the same roots, the art stems from other art, or each practitioner come up with the same technique despite never meeting each other. Taekwondo, for example, has Karate as its parenthood, while Karate has Chinese martial arts (presumably Kenpo, Wushu, or Hung Gar). This is why you see both arts have Axe kick in among their techniques, as seen in Heihachi, Kazuya, Jin, Lee, Hwoarang, and Baek's movesets.
The most commonly used technique that is shared by pretty much any striking-focused martial arts AND combat sports (that isn't boxing) is the Roundhouse kick. You see them in Karate, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Sanda, Silat, Savate, and of course, Kickboxing. FYI, Muay Thai, Karate, and Taekwondo practitioners all compete in Kickboxing, and I assure you would hardly tell the difference whether the fighter practice Muay Thai, Karate, or Taekwondo, simply because of how similar (or, again, outright identical) most of their techniques are.
That said (or TL;DR), the kicks you see in Bruce could belong to Kickboxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, or any other striking-focused arts because they all have similar kicking techniques, so similar that if you show a Taekwondo practitioner Bruce's moveset, he/she would say Bruce's kicks are Taekwondo's.
@@bre4kd0wn1 Bruce is commonly accepted as Muay Thai I believe, especially since his lore has him as a MT champ. But more sport version as opposed to Fahkumram's traditional form. There's a video somewhere where some muay thai fighters react and comment that Fahkumram's form is closer to Muay Boran than the more common Muay Thai at times.
The way they've created a character that's so unique and badass without having him say a single word is amazing
Adding wrinkles to him is a good decision tbh. Bro's that old but his presence is something

That's *such an incredible presence* to be known right then, Tropixx_xlr1549 🚗
The fact he doesn't speak but likes to sing in his spare time will never not be funny to me.
I'm always fascinated by what makes Tekken *feel* unique, given all the excellent fighting games out there, and Dragunov is a great example.
He feels like a complete character, and yet, he has so very little to him. The personality is carried not by a story, but through impeccable characterization. No voice, yet every animation, the flow of his moveset, his interactions with the fourth wall... they are all informed by characterization.
It's what makes the main roster so memorable.
well said
His style is probably the most lethal in the entire game
So many of his moves would either kill a person(neck break), make you unable to move properly(one of his 50 leg and arm breaking grabs), or can potentially give you permanent damage(the grab where he brutally knees the back of your head)
He became my favorite Tekken character next to Kazuya
@@That-One-Spy-Main It's commando sambo, a russian martial art where the goal was to painfully injure your opponent as much as possible, although Drag's style of his Comm Sambo has a similar goal that Krav Maga has, to maim your opponent with the least time or effort, hence why so many of Dragunov's moves aim to inflict fractures.
I really like Sergei's new outfit. It has some Russian inspiration but it is also laid-back casual. I also how they made him look a little older than he did in Tekken 7. It's a really nice touch for Dragunov. Thank you for bringing him back!

I can't give enough credit to the sound designers at Bandai Namco. All the punches and kicks sound so juicy and brutal. I always loved that about Tekken, really makes you think "If any of these fighters hit me IRL i'd have stomachaches and broken bones for years"
No, the sound fx are too, over the top right now. Everything sounds EPIC, so the sound engineering is imbalanced. Regular moves connecting shouldn't sound like a powerful blow as, say, in 'heat mode' or the RA. Everything sounding the same ruins the immersion imo.
Joint lock sounds still sounds goofy as ever tho
@@rraimundobruno
True. A bone snapping irl is quite 'loud'...the scream of agony is way louder! O.O
Broke bones ? You or any normal human beings would be dead from a power crush 😅
@@Sepia1989
Of course, we would! Tekken's regular fighters that aren't a Mishima or a Kazama with the devil gene are obviously, far stronger than the strongest, fittest human being in our world today. Apart from the ability to juggle someone's full bodyweight in the air lol, we have characters like Paul who can punch through a solid, brick wall. You know the physics behind someone being able to do that? It's impossible. Jack or Bryan doing it totally makes sense because they would have the required mass and energy.
If Paul is really that strong, then he should really be winning matches with literally, one punch. That amount of force would crush organs, bones etc. And I say all this as a Paul main since Tekken 2😅
In loving memory of Kenichi Morozumi. RIP Legend.
He’s so cold that gives Sub-Zero a run for his money.
Fun fact:
Dragunov's unblockable punch actually has the name ,,Sub-Zero"

Tekken really nailed it with the announcer! She just gives so much character to the game

Dragunov is capable of speech but only if you peak his interest. In T6 campaign he did tell Kazuya that he was going to “eliminate” him. I was lowkey hoping that he would say something in his interaction with Victor. Since T8 is creating unique interactions with certain other characters. Maybe it’s due to the death of the VA 😢.
Victor is not worth talking to. Also not very inspiring for myself with all his weapons.
The new voice actor is also Japanese. It would be complicated for him to speak russian IMO.

When he first was added to the roster I didn’t use him much and didn’t really care much for the character. But in Tekken 7 Dragunov became my main character. Unbelievable player to use in Tekken. His ability to chain moves and transition from hits into grapples is unmatched
Easily one of the best characters to use for down-to-earth fighting and combo transitioning.
Dragunov playing with the 'camera' is so hilarious and creepy at the same time ! He is brutal with a certain style, I like it.

He not a legacy character tho
Not a legacy character. Still, one of the better newcomers
Tekken 5 Dr was a long time ago now.
@burni988 Never played DR only OG Tekken 5, so that's news to me. Still, I think Tekken 4 and prior solidifies what's a legacy character and what's not, considering how many characters are in Tekken 5 yet aren't in Tekken 7 or 8
@@VermillionGates at this point I'm personally happy to consider Tekken 5 Dr, and earlier legacy, it's getting close to 20 years old having released in 2005. Even some Tekken 6 characters like Alisa and lars feel kinda legacy, but that's more just because of how much they've been part of the story.
I think Tekken 5 Dr is a fair place to consider legacy characters, but I still think Tekken 3 characters and earlier are like the "ultra" legacy characters.
I also don't think it makes sense to say that just because a lot of Tekken 5 characters aren't in Tekken 7/8 means that they're not legacy characters. Some games just choose to have a lesser focus on legacy characters.
Before he leave, he had stopped to say goodbye. What a good guy:)
