- This is a Seriously Epic trip to Fraser Island!!
We leave the Caravan in Hervey Bay and head over on the barge to explore for a few weeks.
First up we chill out in the Eurong Beach Resort and day trip to a few of the hotspots. Then we head off in the swags to explore some remote campsites and fishing!

Ah Lake McKenzie. What a great place. Went there about 18 year ago with my then 8 year old son, we took a bus from our hotel on the Sunshine Coast. It was a torturous journey on a crowded small bus that picked us up at 5am and dropped us back at 7pm, completely misrepresented by the tour company advertisement. So much for crystal clear streams and white sandy beaches leading to Lake McKenzie, rather it was an endless and monotonous surf beach, massive queue to drive onto a small ferry and then a myriad of narrow sandy tracks amidst thick humid bush. However, as I said, Lake McKenzie is simply brilliant, once you get there. After the stress of the journey I felt compelled to take a dip, drop my shorts around my ankles and leave the rest to chance. As it turned out the incredible buoyancy had me floating effortlessly, tummy up, and kind of in a foetal position. I strained and then released a monstrous turd with a number of seconds passing as it slid slowly out of my arse. I guess I was caught in the moment and it wasn’t until I heard the scream of a middle aged woman near me that my ecstasy was abruptly replaced by reality. As it turned out, my turd had bumped her arm. I shouldn’t have laughed to myself when I saw our bearded tour bus operator go an get a net and retrieve it. He had such a serious look on his face, like it was a national emergency. I noticed that he was looking suspiciously at an overweight Lebanese man on the same tour as us. Can’t wait to return.

I have just found this amazing channel. I love the family getting away with the young kids and they will reminder this road trip around Australia for there whole life. I Would have loved to do this when we had our young family. My wife and I have started to travel WA in the last 5 years and loving it Gibb River trip was our first trip from Perth to the top and back. We have just got ourselves a caravan thanks to me late dear dad as my dad said to give my wife a hotel on wheels. Enjoy Guys we will follow your family channel as long as it is going.

Great Camping Tips
Just found your channel. Fantastic scenery. My wife and i are planning our first trip to Australia in October 2021. We are hiring a motorhome from Sydney, checking out The Blue Mountains then driving up to Brisbane to see relatives and Australia Zoo and then on to Cairns. I've allowed us about 4-5 weeks to see all the places on my itinerary and we are really looking forward to it especially after watching your videos. I did think about hiring a 4x4 but because of a medical problem I have I decided to go for the motorhome ( because of the toilet onboard ) which unfortunately restricts the places we can visit which is a shame as i drive a Landover Discovery 3 HSE here in the UK. Anyway, thanks for the videos and you and your family have a great life traveling around a beautiful country.

Awinya is a great spot and there’s not usually to many people up there if any. If you’re keen you can drive up the creek a little ways as well👌

Hi guys, heading to Fraser Island this weekend. Really enjoyed your video. In regards to Wathumba campsite, it says online that you can't camp with your car and there is designated tent sections. I'm really interested to stay here as it looked amazing in your video, however those circumstances have slightly put me off. Was this not the case when you stayed there?

Just a couple of questions,
We have a 4 year old and my partner is worried about dingos and also when we are hanging out on the beach how bad is the traffic with kids,
And also is it safe to leave your camp set up while going exploring for the day, like when you get back all your stuff is gone?

Hi Nick, we stayed at Eli Creek Camp site but in the Fenced area for a night and saw one dingo that night at the fence and another the next morning. The next day we stayed at Wayuna camp site (unfenced) and were already in tent by 9pm and I heard dingoes barking then saw shadows of a dingo. Had campers few metres from us who were still awake who came over to our tent to let us know that there were five dingoes that were scavenging around our tent. My advise if you have children camp in a fenced site where ever you are on Fraser

Hi Guys, just binged on 10 vids from W.A. Ningaloo is our favourite place and we visited it for many years. A tip that helped us when living on the beach was to use ( Night & Day) shampoo and conditioner. Works great in the ocean and saves your fresh water. Keith W.A.
