Welcome to the 1st episode of the Texas Plinking 1 MOA At 1,000 Yards Challenge. A new monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If the connect on their 1st (cold bore) shot they get a gold coin, if they connect within 5 they get a silver coin, and bronze if they connect within 10. If they accomplish the tasks, the get just one attempt at the 5" (1/2 MOA) target. New episodes go live on the 1st Monday of every month! If you think you're up for the challenge, send me a DM on Instagram (@texasplinking) and tell me a bit about yourself, your rifle setup, and experience. This new video series was not only made to entertain us long range shooters, but to inspire y'all to get into the world of long range shooting if you haven't already. It's certainly a ton of fun and just about the best community out there! A big thanks to everyone who made it out. Especially Zach for flying in from out of state. You should consider changing the rule for the 5" to allow them to use the remaining rounds from the original 10. So if they hit the 10" in 8, they have 2 shots at the 5". Just a thought.
@averageaple6789 I'm pretty sure he already had this idea before I posted it, but glad they were able to update the scoring either way! It's much more interesting now that they have a running score board.
Love how this video came together! Had a blast getting to be a part of this inaugural shoot…. It’s going to be really awesome to see where you’re at with this series a year from now!
Thank y'all for this video and this series. FWIW, I'm a Canadian born and bred, but spent Jr High, in South Texas along the Gulf Coast. Specifically McAllen, and a year on a ranch outside San Benito, and a year just outside Driscoll, outside Bishop. I served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 3 years before an honorable discharge for Medical reasons ended that career. I'm raising a small family, wife and 2 kids, on a small hobby farm in the British Columbia mountains, in the Okanagan Valley. Love Texas. I'm with y'all in spirit. And while I catch up on this series, I'll post my comments. All in the spirit of engaging with the channel, and learning as I go too. Thanks again everyone. Enjoying the series so far.
I could watch this all day. My father was on the marine shooting team in the late 50s so i was born with a 03 in my hands. There is nothing more soothing than long range shooting.
Congrats to all contestants but a special congrats to the man shooting the Bergara. Basically, a bone stock production rifle. I loved seeing your old RPA Ranger - that is one sweet rifle!!!!!
@@TexasPlinking I don't know if I'm good enough. I might have guns that can do it though. Ruger No 1 in 300 win mag, two Winchester mod 70s in 30-06, Marlin 38-55, Winchester 1895 in 30-40 Krag, Mosin 7.26x54R. You could do an old school and new school series! Or Old vs New! That would be cool! Do Trebuchet too! lol A"This vs That"...
I just discovered this challenge series and I've just watched them all from ep8 to this ep1, I can't get enough, very entertaining, looking forward to ep9. Don't be scared to change the rules or targets, like the way you started the point system, keeps it interesting.
Greg's rifle seemed to print the tightest group, unfortunately he never corrected for wind. I think the 300 WM bucked the wind the best with that heavy 190gr bullet. Good job Zach, I just recently found your channel, keep up the great content.
Yes I agree. He was able to just walk them right in without having the wind change POI. I shoot 6.5, 308, 300wm .338 Lapua. And they all have their place . I was a little surprised so many here shot factory loads. That's what I beat myself up the most about, me getting the proper load against distance and wind. It's a fun hobby.
@@davidkohler7454 I've been able to stretch out my stock tikka .308 with a vortex sonora out to 1000 pretty consistently with factory black box winchester, I wouldn't stress about having factory loads
Oh man I was excited when I saw Mountains, Mullets, Merica on there! I'm glad you invited him, what a fun video to watch! Thank you for your content 😊.
Very awesome to see other shooters' long range rigs. 1moa at 1K is no easy feat. I am looking forward to see how this series becomes more and more popular 👍🏼🥳
Nice setup letting us see all the different rigs. I like seeing the motley crew of regular people using all the factory stuff. This is in line what any person can do. Thanks
Some people watch golf. "That's watchinging paint dry" !! I loved this content. I was screaming at the computer hoping someone could do it in a 3 shots and hit the 5" target. I could watch this all day. I had a 6.5 creedmost that was lost in a boating accident along with all my ammo. I now have sling shot but look forward to more of these challenges.
Excellant, building this page and range time is what the shooting community is all about! Enjoy shooting ,friendly competition, just learning more about the sport! THANK YOU!
I immediately subscribed. I enjoy plinking. You did a professional job filming and recording audio and editing this video. I love that the shooter's appear to not know the actual wind speed down range. That adds to the difficulty of the shot. I look forward to more challenges you create for the shooter's.
If someone actually manages to hit a 10" target at 1k yards first shot without rifle that costs more than their house, I will be impressed to say the least Also, respect for a simple challenge that is still going to be exciting, without doing anything over the top, like hitting 40 targets while constantly running from one position to another
Thank you for posting this video. I really appreciate the picture in picture of the target and shooter, and I wish other channels would do the same. it seems like this might be a good match for intermediate LR Shooters.
What a great series! Great stuff! so awesome to see all the different calibers. 300 win mag is no joke..someone posted below that the 300 win mag handled the wind, and I agree...Wind? we don't need no stinking wind 🙂Thanks for taking the time to put this together!
Great shooting to those that hit. I think the guy that got the donuts was the real winner tho. Best donuts I have ever had. Had them delivered to Detroit Michigan.
Excellent Marksman All Around. It Takes a lot of skill to cold bore, 10 Shot with mostly factory ammo, No Spotter And pretty much DOPE is hit or miss. Great shooting guys!
There are some strange folk among the the populace in this nation of ours, sometimes they surprise you, sometimes they don't. You are intelligent by having people vetted and applying.
At that distance even to get within a foot is awesome and to get it within five shots or less is crazy good thanks for sharing stay safe Frank from Plymouth Florida
Really cool having other guys come out to your spot! That's a perfect range! I love this channel and all the different things you do! Gotta get that 7.5 BRUNO bad boy 10mm / 41mag necked down 7.5 beast

@@Lostsouls5557 You just wanna be the Mosin man now huh? 😂
Why all the small pills? What are the rules?

It would be great if you could put the specs of the rifles on the screen during the intros, could be a marketing opportunity.

I love how the third guy walked in his shot perfectly, first shot up right, second center left next on target. He has control
Man that accuracy international is just plain gorgeous!
Does this guy has insta? or something. nice specs man.. decent shots!
cycles soooo nice.
That third dude who got it in 3 was impressive with his adjustments. The other guys were steady shooters, but they weren't watching their misses.
Hard to say though, you dont want to start chasing impacts when it could have been a slight wind
