My dad bought me a Spreewerke P-38. I need to pick up some Wolff springs for it. So far it has been just sitting in the safe. Your pistol’s serial number is 1477 m. It was made by Walther in late 1943, the 1477th in the “m” block of production (I believe each lettered block usually consisted of 10,000 pistols).
Sir. These modern double stack pistols are not as accurate as a fixed barrel like your P38...I went to the range and shot the Glock 19 at 30 yards, it shot about a 16-18 inch circle, full magazine...with a fixed barrel like a Ruger Mark fixed barrel I can hit birds in a tree...that P38 is a keeper.
A real classic, have had mine for fourth years. Nicely done sir.
Very nice pistol you’ve got there. About 150,000 P38’s were made by Walther in 1943.
The most influential pistol of WWII. Glad to see you enjoying this classic pistol.
