Final Fantasy XIII - Barthandelus/Orphan (First Form) Boss Fight

- We are coming close to the end. The instant you arrive at Orphan' Cradle where Orphan sleeps, you are thrown into long cutscenes and three boss fights back to back. Good thing the game heals you after a battle.
They are after Barthandelus, and ready to take him down. Feels like they must prove themselves to him to show that Lightning and the gang are wanting to protect Cocoon. This final version of Barthandelus actually was the easiest. I think at this point, your party is strong enough and has enough abilities that you're able to handle anything coming from him......at least for me. Lightning, Fang, and Hope will handle the bosses since they are balanced. And Hope has that Haste, so good times.
Right after Barthandelus, gang celebrates prematurely as Orphan shows up, waiting to be destroyed basically. Now for the second boss.....which I died the first time because he inflicted Fog and Pain ON MY ENTIRE PARTY. I was literally defenseless and had no healing items for them *sigh*. Second time around, I got him though.
With Lightning, you can see I use Army of One and then switch to Commando instantly. If don't remember, Army of One does 100% damage, regardless of resistance or weakness and the power is based on the physical stat. Lightning's is even with her magic stat but switching to Commando and having a second one there (Fang) boosts the bonus for attacking power on Army of One. More damage is always fun.

@@Nn.65juk actually that's completely wrong. You need to educate yourself on historical content before you drop false information. Islam advanced science in the early ages then after that the catholic church was the biggest sponsor of scientific research for hundreds of years. Who do you think financed people like Galileo to be able to afford to sit at home all day studying astronomy. All religion is for is tried and tested methods to keep society from falling apart. I understand your generation is extremely brainwashed but there's no excuse for spreading false information. Feel free to fact check what I said here , without Islam and the catholic church we'd be 400 years behind in science , not the other way around. I'm not even pro religion but I am a historian and your statement is false based on historical evidence and facts.

The graphics are extremely impressive for its time... it makes me think it's a PS4 game.
Xenith Xenaku if they released the trilogy to ps4, I would buy them in a heartbeat
*1.* I already got the trilogy on PS3 so no need, besides I don't have a PS4. Still haven't played it though...
*2.* My favourite Final Fantasy game so far is VIII (or 8), only because of its Debug Menu, it allows you fight any enemy you like without having to worry about Random Encounters.
Fun fact, I've never owned FFXIII myself, despite me beating it 3 times. I have the sequels, just not the original
Ps3 is a hell of a machine, even today.
True sometimes i just stop and view the sceneries. The cities are the intricately designed you will even see patterns on walls.
The art direction in this game was incredible.

@@bloodaonadeline8346 Least not until about half way through the game and even then it mostly kept you on a linear path.
@@bloodaonadeline8346man, games were always linear before stuff like Skyrim. I like linearity anyway because it's so easy to get lost. Like in 13-2 for example.
@@neezduts69420I thought 13-2 was just fine. That fact it wasn't as linear as 13 did it a great service.
This game was brilliant in its own way. Severely underrated. Storyline combined with soundtrack played my heart strings like a harp. The atmosphere is incredible. The battles ARE frustrating, to say the VERY LEAST, BUT it's an incredible game worth the grind

Fingers crossed for PS5! I feel like even by today’s standards the game looks good enough for PS4. PS5 should be able to take it to another level
@@knight671 The only problem is that the game was coded with the PS3s Cell processor , which was stupid difficult & specific to program with. so i'd see that hampering ANY attempt at a remake.

The only thing I would add is like other L’cie we would see across our journey and we can choose to help them fulfill their focus (extra missions and side stories). That way it can break up the monotony of the first few chapters. This game is already good with the combat and visuals and story

Call me crazy but it does kinda seem like we're being farmed like this in some way. Look at everything we can survive but then we just fall over dead randomly. We're farmable.

I just gave up far before point. The game was anti fun and the game locked you out of leveling up too much, meaning it made the battles just too tedious. The story had no hook and I felt absolutely no investment in the characters. Worst FF game by far.
Yet your still here watching cause you "gave up" and couldn't get this far.
