    Wait, isn't this the Pac-Man soundchip? It's very impressive how you snuck in like, three ''voices'' in that top channel.

    • @FLDE

      Yep! I’m not doing much here, just applying basic chiptune techniques to a chip that has never seen them

    • @razi_man
      @razi_man ปีที่แล้ว +7

      What do you mean? Only 2 different waveforms are being used. The supposed "third" voice is literally the bass waveform being played at a higher pitch.

    • @gameknight.thump1
      @gameknight.thump1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@razi_man then you could argue that its just one voice, seeing as though the high-pitch arpeggio is just the same waveform as the bass.

      @@razi_manthat isn't what "voices" means from a musical standpoint, smartass. there are three voices: bassline, harmony, and kick drum. yes, two are built from the same waveform. that doesn't make them the same voice in the _composition_

    I saw this a while ago but only recently viewed it in furnace. I didn't realize how important of a part the quick little arpeggios were in the bassline. I'm kinda new to this whole "music theory" thing. Sick beats!

      I think you meant that people don't have to study music theory to be able to understand music because otherwise it's just nonsense.
      How could I mean "it's not necessary to avoid learning theories." as if it is assumed that music theory is something which is necessary to avoid. Perhaps you are imagining that music theory is commonly viewed as obstructive to the progression of your understanding of the medium. Although that's not an opinion I've heard or read personally myself, it remains the only logical conclusion I can draw from your attempt to understand my initial statement or original post as a warning that it is important for the betterment of your understanding and appreciation of music, overall, to avoid musical theory, is in fact "fine without it" leaves the reader to guess whether "it" is a reference to my statement of required avoidance of formal education in the field or the field of music theory itself. With the assumed required avoidance of music theory, negated by you by the inclusion of the word "but" and the implied group of like minded individuals ("some of us") rejected my assertion of enforced music theory avoidance.
      So in conclusion I think you were making a retort to my statement that music theory "should" be avoided and interpreting that as "must" be avoided and decided that your musical education and continued development is not in fact harmed by exposure to musical theory, as you implied, that that is what you interpreted my statement to mean.
      Which is a pretty dense statement for about 23 words, some abbreviated and no grammar whatsoever.
      To be more clear, you could have said that you found musical theory helpful, yourself, rather than imply I was suggesting musical theory is absolutely a waste of time in completely inflexible terms.
      Whereas my actual comment "There is no such thing as music theory. Avoid music theory." Is demonstrably incorrect as music theory has been proven to exist by the two words being put beside one another and a university course being available.
      To avoid something which does not exist is obviously impossible, but to deny the existence of it, is to be caught by surprise and unaware of it's effects.
      So you must avoid music theory because it's not really proven to have a positive affect. But you may engage in music theory if you decide to do so, but my advice would be that is would unlikely prove useful.

      The SID is a synthesizer chip, while this one is a wavetable one.
      Wavetables allow you to make custom waveforms, but can start aliasing when you go to low notes.
      A synthesizer can only make a set amount of waves, but has filters, oscillator sync, and stuff.
