First, a massive thanks to my amazing daughter (10) who fully edited this video, she was superpatient learning the ropes love❤❤❤ . What are your most addictive favourites from these genres since the Switch came out? Mark and Glen
For puzzle it's Tetris Effect - Connected. I have this game for several platforms including Oculus.
Tell your daughter I said good job and I am proud of her.
I never comment on youtube videos, but wow your 10 year old daughter edited this video?! Huge congrats to her for the great work!
Your daughter is amazing, so skilled!
That's so amazing! Well done to her!
My most addictive Switch game is Spend 2 Save. If you’re not familiar, you attempt to save money by buying games that are on sale. The trick is that you have to convince your character that even though they have a backlog that could choke a mule, at some point they will get around to completing said game. I can’t stop playing it.
Wait, what
i cant tell if ur joking or not
We are playing the same game for sure 🥲
@@jasminlamprecht5330 He ain’t joking, the struggle is real. But don’t expect to get the game on physical, this one a mental game.
Hahaha SPEND TO SAVE. It took me far too long to figure out what those words were supposed to be haha. Mark
For me, Dead Cells has some crazy replay-ability addictiveness! I keep unlocking items, getting stronger and further.
Dead Cells is amazing. The combat and platforming is so addictive.
Completely agree. Even a bad run is fun. I love Dead Cells so much.
Ive played a lot of dead cells but I never fully connected with it. I def agree it feels great I just never hit that flow where the game clicked. It is a game I like to dl occasionally and do a few runs but I'm very very casual at it
Dead cells is ok, for some reason it and Hades seem to be a bit over rated. Again I've played them both a lot but there are better rouge lites like binding of isaac
I've got No Mans Sky, Divinity Original Sin, Zelda games and Diablo 3 to name a few - but I still spend most of my time running around Skyrim.
Started in Skyrim when it first came out on the Xbox - still hooked on it.
Ive never played nms, how is it?
Great picks. Slay the Spire, Dead Cells, Roguebook, Dredge, Fire Emblem Engage, Stardew Valley, Balatro, Disco Elysium, Mario Kart 8, Persona 5, Dragon Quest XI, Monster Sanctuary, Blasphemous 1&2, Hollow Knight. Those are the first that sprung to mind!
Monster Hunter is the game that im most addicted with. I mean, i've i've been a big fan of monster hunter games since 2004. I have 4K hours in World/Iceborne alone! Almost 800 hours in Rise/Sunbreak.
Glorious game haha
Been hesitant to start just cuz the time u gotta put into it. Then again Xenoblade and persona's have been my favorites.
Really hoping that monster hunter world Will be on the switch 2
@@joset814 that.... would be bad for my backlog. 😂
MH is hands down the game I put the most time into. My all time favourite.
I'd say my pick is Dysmantle. It has a very addictive loop of: destroy objects, gather materials, use materials to get stronger weapons to destroy bigger objects...and so on. There's some light combat and even a "build mode" so you can build and design your own house if wanted. Incredibly addicting, I've played through it many times. Highly recommend.
Animal Crossing got me addicted so hard lol. I couldn't stop playing. Currently addicted to DYSMANTLE. I spend hours just breaking stuff and killing zombies. Super satisfying 😅😅
Lol and I can't stand it AC because it's so slow I want a skip button for the nonsense chat.
Dysmantle is *so* good. It's super underrated, imo.
It has to be Tetris for me, I still play it on my original gameboy from 1990 and it’s still just so addictive. I can lose hours on there.
There's some great hacks that add quick drop etc out there
Highly recommend Tetris Effect. Especially if u can play in VR.
My most addictive game on the switch right now is Balatro!! It’s so good! Poker deck building Rogue-like extravaganza. A close second is Don’t Starve together. I’ve recently started playing it with my daughter and it changes the whole DS dynamic for a great time. Disco Elysium is probably my all time favorite game on switch however, I’ve replayed that about 7 times now. Once again, Thanks gents.
disco elysium is awseome.. just love that game.
I love these podcast style episodes where you guys just chat about game design.
Monster Hunter Rise is the only game I can say I’ve been fully addicted too. 400+ hours and I still love coming back for more.
I‘m currently addicted to Balatro. It’s such an amazing game!
Me too, much against my expectations. I don’t enjoy Poker, and I’m not a huge fan of card games either, yet 30-hours later…
I just finished ante 8 for the first time today. Amazing game. Never thought I would be this into a poker/deck builder, but I am and I have told so many people to download the game.
Balatro for me, been a while since I have been deep into Deck Builders and that game really minded me why I liked them so much in the first place, and basing the game around Poker is brilliant as it makes the game just that much easier to jump into if you know basic poker hands, keep up the great work guys!
Rouguelikes (Balatro/Vampire Survivors), RPGs (Xenoblade/Monster Hunter Rise), Arcade (Tetris/Puzzle Bobble), Sim (Rune Factory 4/Stardew Valley), Other (Picross/Final Fantasy Theatrhythm)
Lovely video chaps (and editing 👍), will pick a couple of those up. For me it's Snowrunner, I've lost literally days to that game. Neglecting family, personal care and sunlight in the process!
One game that I found surprisingly addictive was Dragon Quest Builders 2.
Skyrim. Always Skyrim. Can’t stop playing Skyrim…
Diablo 3 for me, I have more hours in that game than BotW.
Think it’s a mix of the quick rift runs, and drop in/out public play, that I really gelled with.
Dragon Quest Builders for me.
My first play through was around, 60~80h
And recently I decided to start a new game just for the sake of it. And suddenly I had another 40h on it.
Nice to see SMTV get a shout out. That game really surprised me with how much I loved it. I always crave getting addicted to a game, but even though I've adored many (the Zelda's, Mario & Rabbids, the Fire Emblems) and would call them among my all-time favourites, I typically burnout on a game (over 250 hours in TotK but I burnt out so bad I still haven't beaten it) or feel satisfied when it's over and I don't find myself returning to those titles for quite some time. I wish I could find a game I could keep coming back to year after year.
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm already excited - need me some more addiction.
For me, I can't stop playing Mario kart 8 deluxe and Splatoon 3. I play many games but I play at least one of those when I turn on my switch 🎉
Great video guys, thanks.
Took a quick peek at the games featured, that’s a solid list gentlemen! I’m currently still dealing with a mild Grindstone addiction 😅
I find the Atelier games have a very addictive game loop
The most addictive for me are life/farm sims, so Stardew Valley of course, but my very first was Harvest moon more friends of mineral town on GBA, I’m glad you mentioned it 😊 then I have my arcade addiction for Bubble Bobble, I never have enough of that!
Now that's a list of bangers ,,,,cheers
Slay the spire caught me off guard! Watched one of your videos and picked it up... lost a lot of hours to it. Then monster train came along... absolutely grabbed me as well!
I’ve been addicted to hades for the longest, I beat it at like the 30 hour mark but continued to play for another 30 😂
Such a great game.
"One more planet. Just one more planet! This planet is going to be the one!" I feel the exact same way about No Mans Sky. I have been addicted to that game since day one because of that mentality. It's a game I will always come back too. I love the shout out for Knight Terrors. I didn't know that game existed! I've been playing it since this episode posted. I love your guys channel! Keep up the awesome work!
Love the early 90s graphic engine aesthetics; reminds me of first 'Zeldas' :D Had some xp with Motion Capture and gotta admit the new Zeldas on Switch have such seriously fluid and accurate movement animations and overall fight choreography. Does the cinematic style justice. PS. You almost saw me as Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
I've been going back through your old videos to try and discover some gems as I've got a similar taste to Glen in terms of games it seems and as I only got a switch a few years ago I wanted to see what I missed and discovered some great ones. Playing Riptide GP Renegade at the moment. Awesome.
Holy wow! I've been trying to figure out what arcade game I played in my Orthodontist's office as a kid for YEARS with very few details to go on, and you've accidentally helped me with that! Pang, oh wow. Thanks a million, that's decades of wondering put to rest!
Glad I could help! great game. Mark
Wow. What a great way to describe a great Life Sim. "Find the gameplay." Find the fun. I guess that is what life is about: going out there, and finding what is fun for you. So brilliant it's scary.
Civilization 6. Just one more turn. JUST ONE MORE TURN!!!!!!
Vampire survivors got me hooked, I even bough the DLC and completed everything. Had so much fun with it ❤🔥
Powerwash Simulator is a great addictive game for me. Just satisfying to play.
I've always wanted to try this game, I'll have to check it out.
Such a great game. It's perfect for pairing with podcasts or audiobooks. And definitely, *definitely* addictive.
Roguelikes - Loop Hero and Balatro, RPG of the moment - Atelier Ryza series (almost finished the second), Arcade games were never my thing, Simlifes Stardew, ACNH and Cozy Grove (honourable mention to FaeFarm) for all doing the same thing differently. I have tried the demo of No Man's Sky, and colour me intrigued.
I agree with Vampire Survivors, I don't play it all the time but when I'm on it I won't play anything else for a few days at a time. I'd have to say Xenoblade Chronicles, any of them really but 3 in particular, I've just broken 100hrs and only just finished the story, and I've still got the DLC to go, but I'm still excited to get bacl into it every time.
For me it's also Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak. Over 1200 hours into this game it's was a fantastic journey. Right now 60 hours into Unicorn Overlord. Also Stardew Valley on of my favorite games with 1000 hours into it. And right now with the latest update on Switch it gave me again the reason to replay it. But right now it's Unicorn Overlord for me. Love your favorites ones too. 😊
Prob agree. I never fully got into a mh game but always wanted to and this one finally clicked for me. Played like 300 hours on switch then another 100ish on xbox. And I know to some mg diehards that's baby numbers but I felt like I saw everything I wanted to see. Also just loved the color palette and overall visual aesthetic that made it a fun world to be in.
Great video! I agree that both Binding of Isaac and Vampire Survivors are super addictive roguelike. Also, once the Stardew Valley update hits the switch, I'll be reeled back in
I'm new to switch, and these videos are very useful for me who needs fun games to play, right now I'm play snowman and skyrim most,bc don't have many games for it,but ur videos are a blast for me and tons of help, thank u
Great list of games! I most addictive game of all time is probablu slay the spire with hades as a runner up. I didn't think I liked roguelike games until slay the spire. Boy was I wrong!
It’s been Balatro for me lately, I looked at my stats and couldn’t believe I’ve already sunk 25 hours in 😭 It’s so fun!
Thank you for the recommendation. I will get them during a sale.
I just stopped playing vampire survivors moments ago and fired up this episode and now I guess I’m gonna go back and play some more hahaha
I am currently addicted to unicorn overlord. I love the gameplay so much and the artstyle is top
These are some great choices. Hades was super addictive for me personally!
Balatro is addictive and probably knows it! It takes poker and adds so many layers of surprises, upgrades and twists that even if you don't like poker you will still find it strangely addictive and rewarding to your surprise! It drops so many unlockables and rewarding content as you keep playing.
The game I couldn't put down and was recommended by you was Tinykin, amazing game.
Void bastards, once I get started I’m always like “one more ship” or “one more run”
Underrated game.
@@SwitchUpYt My thoughts exactly, hope the sequel builds on what they have going.
I need to pick that up. It's really cheap to get at the mo'.
I forgot about this game! I bought it in 2020 on Steam and played it for just short of 4 hours, but apparently put it down and later uninstalled it. It's a game that would probably be more fun if they had some sort of online co-op. I can imagine it translates well to the Switch though, because I usually kind of play mine Switch in very bite-sized sessions.
Love the videos 😊
I would love to see a longer format list video of your both top 24/30 games for the switch!
I find fun to make lists thinking like "what if i could only keep my switch and have 12/18 games in It?" This makes you rethink your games and even your actual taste and it's fun to see what actually comes out of there with all the sacrifices you make choosing stuff.
And i think its even helpful to people that gets stuck with hundreds of games installed and playing none syndrome, because through that you can refocus and clean the switch and mind and restart enjoying and playing more valuable stuff over the compulsive discounts buys
For me, it’s Cuphead. I love going back and killing the bosses all over again. I can’t get enough of the art, the music and the gameplay.
My most addictive Switch game is Dead Cells. You've inspired me to get back into No Man's Sky and Stardew valley again.
Im Early! You guys rock :)
NMS is amazing
nms ftw
Roguelike : Rogue Heroes
RPG : Skyrim, FF XII, Digimon World, Outward, outerworlds
Arcade (kinda) : Event Horizon
Life Sim : All 😜
Could you please make like a part2 with sub genres or different ones like tatics rpg or racing?
Snowrunner, Darkest Dungeon, Super Mario RPG...so many to choose from
You guys are great, keep it up
Great video. Thanks for introducing Disco Elysium. One very addictive game for consideration is Dave the Diver.
Shin megami tensei is an absolute shout! I played IV on the 3ds, and started 3 on the switch recently. And you're absolutely right about the fusion, I get the same rush of endorphins hearing: "welcome to the cathedral of shadows, where demons gather" as I do hearing that sweet eshop tinkle when you buy a game 😂
Most addictive rogue likes for me are Ziggurat and Children of Morta. These just keep me coming back to them.
Always a great feeling to find a fun video you somehow missed. My most addictive game it's been Animal Crossing, which I might have played for 800+ hours while I only have one other game over 50 hours...
Great list. NMS in VR is sooooo fun
I’m excited to see what SwitchUp has stored for us as we soon enter that summer season of gaming (ha, feels a bit weird saying that as it feels like we’ve only just entered spring)
Unlocking new character skins in Fall Guys has me addicted and putting off my backlog 😂
Animal Crossing New Horizons is one of the reasons my backlog is as large as it currently is!!
I’m jealous guys! You can pick up your favourite games. There’s so many I play that I would struggle to choose one! Anyways, another great video! Cheers!
Thumbs up for SMT V! Excited for Vengeance too. Been addicted to Etrian Odyssey now
For me : the witcher 3, Borderlands 2&3, Doom Eternal, Mhr.
I bought disco elysium today because of you guys. I always watch the new videos your amazing narrators
Snowrunner for me, certainly.
Please do some more arcade game type content. I picked up an 8bitdo stick, and have been loving old school shoot em ups and beat em ups. Ninja turtling, and kunio kuning.
First time I made it in first! Wooohooo! Have to agree on vampire survivors straight away, that game is insanely addictive!
Akane! A Switch up classic
I’m hoping you guys make your top 5 (each) or top 10 favourite switch games of all time.
Maybe as part of this years 10 days of SwitchUp. 🙌🏻
I was addicted to stardew valley for so long, i even got friends and family to get it lol.
I really liked astronear
Theres a few that i always go back to that are so addictive, to pick one is quite tricky but i have to say heroes of might and magic. Campaigns are great, normal too, completed 10 times over! The other that sticks out is bookworm on the pc, one of my first pc games, always addictive!! 😊
At the moment I'm addicted to Borderlands 3 despite having played it on the PS4 and PS5 already! I sank hours of my life into Skyrim on the PS3, PS4 and most recently Nintendo Switch and I loved every minute of it! During the first Covid lockdown, my wife and I were definitely addicted to Animal Crossing, seeing as we couldn't go anywhere IRL, we spent hours in that little cute world fishing, gardening and landscaping! 😄
Yes. Borderlands 3 is one of the best games ever. I've beaten it multiple times and still play it. Best looter shooter ever made for any console period
@@alextackett8631 imo BL2 was the peak of the series if you’ve only played 3 check out 2. It’s got one of the best villains in any videogame.
totally agree about demon fusion in SMT V
Your Videos are also most addictive to watch😃😃
Really few things can make me crave some good gaming hours like Monster Hunter did throughout my life, so my choice is either Monster Hunter Rise and Generations Ultimate. Great video as always dudes ❤
Animal Crossing New Horizons is my most addictive game. I bought it about a month into the pandemic. I was expecting to just play it every now and then but quickly became addicted to it. I have put over a thousand hours into it. The game is just so relaxing for me. I don't feel rushed. I actually come back to it at least a few weeks out of the month just to check in on my villagers and island.😆
Titan quest, I keep coming back to it. Love the astethic, gameplay, loot,.... Never found a game that keeps me hooked like that one.
Have you ever played diablo 3? If you like Titan Quest you'd LOVE Diablo 3. Best looting games on switch are Diablo 3 and borderlands 3. I mean SO MUCH LOOT!!!
Binding of Isaac was indeed very addictive. I've played it on the 3DS. Good times.
Honestly, I’d say pick any 80’s arcade game and there’s your addition right there. I found Mana Sparks hugely addictive
Just purchased Asreroids recharged off the back of the video as I didn’t know it existed.fabulous game.
Its on switch but havent played it yet on switch but I keep going back to Skyrim, I play it almost every year. Platinumed it and all dlc on ps3, ps4 en working on ps5 too but first playing with mods to make it feel "new"
Will play it eventually on the switch
My most addictive game, probably thanks to the SwitchUp boys has become Monster Hunter. Rise in particular. I never played the previous games, (though I've had the thought of trying out Generations), but I did play World when it first came out on PS4. I don't know if I even finished the first part of the story, but I did get into Rise and ran into similar. Fought Magnomolo, and then kind of fell off.
Now though, I got back into it HARD. I blasted through the story, started doing High-Rank, got into the Sunrise DLC, have been getting into Master Rank, and it has every hook in me. I even picked up copies for my kids and have been roping them in for some hunts from time to time. I'm playing with the fam on Switch and for myself on PC. It even made me come back to World to the point where I finished the main campaign and started getting into the Iceborne DLC and master rank quests.
I finally get the hook of Monster Hunter and I can't stop.
Rougelite: Enter the Gungeon
RPG: Octopath Traveler 1 and 2
Pure Arcade: Donut Dodo
Sim life: Stardew Valley
Any: Bad North, Stream World Heist, and Smash brothers.
My favourite game and most addictive game on the Nintendo Switch is Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I recently started all over again and something about starting from scratch and building up that island is just so satisfying!
The amount of times I've played through Diablo 3 or Civ 6 makes me happy I have old classics to go back to
Yess, I could tell you how many times I've beaten diablo 3, diablo 2 also. Only beaten diablo 4 once tho
In terms of coming back over and over again, my most addictive game has to be enter the gungeon!
Don't know if i ever will have so much fun in a roguelike like this again 😮💨😮💨
Great... good series
I love this new series! Backlog watch out!
The MOST addictive Switch game is logging into the eShop and buying another gem for the ever growing backlog!!!😅
My most addicting: Yugioh Link Evolution, Smash Ultimate, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and various Resident Evil games with the mercenaries and raid modes.
No Man’s Sky rules! I have about 2000 hours into it. I keep going back for all the updates and get sucked into it. Great game. My most addictive game is Suika Game. That game has done something to my brain, I cannot stop playing it.
