Such a great idea, Jordan and Scott traveling Route 66, I love it! So far I'm really enjoying these. You both make such interesting vlogs, and it's double the fun when you collaborate!
This awesome Jordan .I am glad you and Scott are traveling on routes 66 .i bet you dont miss the traffic in Hollywood and LA ..thank you for taking all of your viewers and myself with you on this travel . Enjoy Jordan and Scott
Wow! Never thought I’d see my hometown on here. Almost lost it when I saw it in the thumbnail! I grew up in Pontiac, Illinois and sometimes took for granted the history. They painted those murals around 2009 and gave our downtown a lot more personality. I love the old service station mural as well! So many memories in these areas, since my dad worked downtown for 50+ years until the clothing store closed and they put the car museum there sometime after 2010. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
The Riviera was a restaurant in the basement of a house. Had a dumbwaiter behind the bar. To use the bathroom one had to turn around, & walk backward up a few steps. Best pizza bread. Sad that it burned down.
I learned to drive on Route 66 between Staunton, Illinois and Mt. Olive, Illinois. Sometimes, even to litchfield, IL. Rte 66 gave me the love of driving❤ 🚗🌬
Hot dog muffler man looks like Richard Keil (Jaws from James Bond). Loved the Alfred E Newman lookalike muffler man. I'd love to get cozy dog t-shirt. I love sweet chili
Hi Jordan, You always find such interesting things on your travels. As for the chili, you are just like Life cereal Mike. " He likes it! He likes it! ". I am looking forward to more adventures on Route 66.😊❤
hey Jordan and Scott, enjoying the Route 66 so far. I'm from Texas I didn't know there's a Route 66 up in the Panhandle area wow learned something new today. I've always know it in Arizona, but not starting in Illinois, that's pretty awesome. safe travels guys.
Thank you Jordon, Route 66, even though I am Canadian has been something I wanted to do but will never get the chance, so now I get to experience it through you, enjoy!
Does anyone remember when the truck stops, tourist traps & gas stations would sell window decals from each state you collect and show where your traveled? I collected them until age 14 when my parents bought a house & dad retired from the military at age 38 and 20 years of service. I only needed the Alaska when I stopped collecting the decals.
Jordan is in my home town and I'm across the country exploring Vegas. My inspiring creators are always on the other side of where I am at, never fails😂
I love your trip so far-looking forward to learning more along the way. Also, love Scott's T-shirt. Where did he buy it? I lived through the storm that took the Edmund Fitzgerald, and I'd love to purchase a shirt. Thanks.
You are in my moms ancestors area in Normal and Atlanta. I still have distant relatives there. One of my relatives was killed on route 66 according to my mom. I have been to reunions in that area but paid no attention to the route 66. I visited Springfield and Lincolns home where he is buried. It is a beautiful monument.
Fun fact...that Halloween movie that came out in 1995 or 1996, there's a scene in a train station where a guy is supposed to be in Pontiac, Illinois. If you look at the map behind him, it shows between Dwight and Pontiac lays Haddonfield.
When you get to Oklahoma there are two sections of Route 66 that might take some research to find (my brother and I found the special section) There are two sections of 66 that are actually a narrow concrete slab that is just barely wide enough for for two cars going opposite directions. When Route 66 opened each state had to raise a percentage of funds to build and maintain Route 66. Oklahoma had not really had the budget to build their section of the Mother Road in certain areas so the just built the minimum requirement to keep their part of the agreement. There are only two sections left of the original section of road. I wet back to look for them again and forgot where they are, but they are still there if you can find them. It might be worth a try to see if you can.
I love how Scott lurks in back during the intros and outos. You guys are having fun but not as much if I were with you! And where are you staying at night? Historic roadside inns?
I have yet to see someone make it inside the Launching Pad restaurant. Every single Route 66 trip I have followed on several TH-cam channels always seem to all find it closed.
The owners closed it and if you saw the car in the front of the giant is from the crazy owner that wrote on her car now speaking conspiracy theories. And they just put it up for sale now.
I live one town over from Braidwood. I am so sorry I missed you coming through. Did you know that Janis Joplin got a speeding ticket in Braidwood. I had a picture of it, I have to find it. Have a great trip.
Loved this. There is so much to see. Can't wait to see where we end up at tomorrow. You and Scott take care.
