Ha you have to remember the ppl in USA, Mexico, South Africa have been in America since the 1600, so we are all unintentionally speaking pre-colonized African tribal words. Ex. African Americans say funky, Afro-Mexicans say funchi- both comes from Kikongo language - Lu-fuki. “Many slang” it’s a mix of Kikongo and kimbundu ,, Native American, and either english, Spanish or Portuguese (depending on if they lived near colonizers from England, Spain, or Portugal) etc blended together
