Easily one of the top five Chapo Trap House segments of all time. Just like the saga of Caleb Jacoby or Rod Dreher's oeuvre, the whole Iraqi dinar scam story seems like it fell through a membrane from another dimension specifically so Chapo could make fun of it.

This might be the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life. Tears, absolute tears from laughing so hard. I probably shouldn't have listened to it on the drive home from work last night, but I needed to hear it again.

Oddly I have heard of something like this happening, but it was the east german mark. After unification they exchanged the currency 1:1 up to 4000 per person with the west german currency and at higher conversion rates at higher levels. I have friends who were well in east germany prior to reunification who did well because of this exchange. There was considerable debate about the wisdom of doing this at the time. This is very much unlike what could ever happen with the Iraqi dinar.
