Hi Cassiy, I’ve found using a site like canva to create a new custom project..I personally use 4500 x 5500; I then take an image I’ve created or an image off creative fabrics and stretch it out as big as it goes, when I save it set it as a transparent background ,enlarge to x3 and save. When I upload to printify or printiful it loads as high resolution with a dpi between 900-1600 dpi. It’s really made a difference in print quality
note that due to global stock issues, Port Authority B150 of Monster Digital will be replaced with an equally-high quality tote bag from OAD (model OAD113). The replacement tote bag will be offered at the same price to avoid order issues
This may be a completely out of the norm video idea for you, but as a stay at home mom of 3, I’m having a hard time figuring out a good schedule to regulate work time towards this business. So I’d be very interested in a video going through how much time you spent towards your business at the beginning vs now! Thanks!
In the beginning I had lost my job and was home for quarantine so I probably spent at least 20 hours per week on my shop because there wasn't much else to do! But then 4 months later I went back to work working 40 hours per week. Even then I worked before work, on lunch and after work so I probably still worked 20 hours a week on it the whole time I was working full time. BUT to be fair, I only have one chid and they are 13 so a lot less hand holding, they are very self sufficient. Now this year as I am focussing on building my YT channel and coaching business, I spend probably 20-30 minutes per day on Etsy and have made the same amount of money this year as I did this time last year right now!

Hi Cassiy. I found POD on The LHC’s TH-cam channel and the first video was the one they did with you. I am so pumped you have your own channel. I originally started a POD store last August, but was all over the place with things, very unorganized, and burnt myself out. I am ready to re-launch. But I am wondering to start, would you suggest getting an EIN or opening an LLC beforehand? Business bank account? I want to treat this like a business so I take it seriously, but I also am hesitant doing all this just starting out with no revenue coming in.
Hi Danielle, congrats on getting back at it! Try to give yourself some grace and take it easy so you don't get burnt out again. I would recommend getting an LLC and putting the business under it but honestly it's not something you have to do before getting started. I'd recommend treating it like a business and setting times to work on it and having specific things to focus on in each session you sit down to work.

I can’t see anyone spending that much for a canvas tote - even buying a limited design from a museum is about $15. Most Etsy canvas totes are about $12 or cheaper - making it impossible to make a profit! The all over totes are much higher quality and I agree with the prices you have, if not a bit higher (with slightly bigger difference between sizes).

I read that the cotton bag doesn’t print white ink. Have you experienced this? At one point there was a note: regarding the white color ink on the bag but it isn’t on the information anymore for the product so I wondered if you had experienced a change in the print where white is showing.

Great video! Have you had anyone complain about the smell of the AOP tote? I just got my sample a few days ago and the smell is STRONG when I unpacked it. It went away after a couple hours of airing out but I can see people complaining and leaving bad reviews over it so I’m trying to think of a way to give a heads up about it (without turning people away because it’s really not a big deal) and telling them that the smell will mostly go away. Thoughts/ideas? :)

I know they hide their phone number pretty well but here it is 844-659-3879 I actually already ordered some mugs so happy to make that for you! By two tone, do you meant he color inside and color handle mugs?

Great question Nissi! I sell all of these things within one Etsy shop all as one big general store! I also sell sweatshirts, those are great sellers as well. Congrats on getting started, I know it can feel like a lot in the beginning but try to take a baby step today towards your goal. Maybe set up a Canva account and practice designing, open your Etsy shop, open your printify account etc, that way getting started doesn't feel so hard if you do the tiny steps first. It makes it easier to keep moving

Hi Cassiy 🌸 I just wanted to ask: with regards to the fees/charges, does printify charge you personally before carrying out the order or does it take the fees from when the customer purchases the product and leaves you with your profit?
Hi there! When someone purchases your item, their money goes to Etsy. Printify receives the order, then charges you credit or debit card. Depending on your Etsy settings, you receive payment from Etsy in a week or two. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching! :)

I always message customers about 4 star reviews when they don't say anything because sometimes they do it by accident! Just message them say something like, " Hello ---, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We saw you left only 4 stars though so we wanted to reach out and see if there was anything at all wrong with your item. If there was, please send us a photo and we will be happy to make it right! Thank you for supporting our small business, -----" If it was a mistake, they'll fix it usually or they might tell you a problem that you can then fix for them! Best of luck and thanks for all the support
There are definitely some free ones out there you can use right now as well Andrea, I know Alura.com has one, I just like having my built in on my excel spreadsheet so its always right there. Printful is great but the price difference and how backed up they get on orders is hard to compete with Printify. I'd definitely consider it if I was you! But in the meantime, no one ever said you can't have both if you wanted to sell Printify tote bags!

I have one question re the AOP Tote Bag: i created a couple of bags and tried to find mockups for the AOP Tote Bag on Etsy and Placeit, but couldn't find any. There are only mockups for the Canvas Tote. Do you use mockups for the AOP Tote Bag and if so, where do you buy them? Or do you think it is sufficient to make listings for the AOP Tote Bag without a mockup?
I haven’t found any great mocks for sale for the AOP tote so I have just been using the Prinity mocks as is. I think it’s fine to do this for an item like that where they don’t need to imagine themselves wearing it but if you ever see better mocks for them come out, then I’d switch to those!
Hi Cassiy, the canvas one, you showed us the "see through" print. Is the print "stained" on the opposite side or it just a "shade / shadow" from the front that you can really see through like you described. Once you did not open the bag, it is hard to tell. If it is only a "see through", by having stuff inside, problem solved. If it's a stain....no good. (in this case, most likely from printing WITHOUT threading the item on the print platen) Sorry, for being picky. Quality control is really a biggy for me. Thank you again.
The bag is see through, not stained onto the back. I was just pointing out that it is a thin material. So yes when things are put in it, then it would solve that.
Hi Cassiy, thanks for the tutorial, I see that canvas port authority tote bag is out of stock everywhere which I had it in my store and now I can’t find another supplier with the similar prices and I had to adjust my prices on my store which reduced my traffic :( . Do you know when they will be back ? Or any suggestions in this type of situations ? Can we order them in bulk once they are in stock again ? Thank you
I just found out about this as well, such a bummer about them being gone! I haven't heard anything from Printify as to why but I'm hoping they will be back soon. I don't think you can order them in bulk when they come back unfortunately unless you just paid for it out of pocket, but that's not really the business model we are trying to build. I'd just go ahead and post your designs on the AOP bag instead and charge the higher prices. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!
Quick question, thanks by the way, so it looks like you didn't change the image you got from Creative Fabrica. You know there has been that controversy, so we DON'T have to add elements to the design IF we're doing POD, is that correct? Thanks!
When I buy a graphic from Creative Fabrica it comes with a high resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels and a 300 dpi. When I use this graphic to create a tote bag on Printify it says "high resolution." When I create a pillow it says "medium resolution." When I create a comforter is says "low resolution." Do you normally create these products with these different resolutions, and if so how do they look?
Hi Cassiy! What should the canvas size be when designing on Canva for the all over tote? I can't seem to get the graphic to get on both sides of the tote properly. The top graphic covers the bottom space when I upload to Printify. Also, when doing the patterns, do we have to change the Creative Fabrica pattern somehow in order to be able to continue selling once the Creative Fabrica membership is canceled?
You can drag the designs to be bigger or smaller when you are putting them on the bag so you'll just have to play around with it until you get them right! As for Creative Fabrica, you'll just have to check the license for the graphic you are choosing!

Hello! Yes sometimes I will just list them all at the same time. You can wait until something starts selling to add old designs to tanks, totes and mugs as well though.

I don't know if Printify has recently changed their quality of tote bag, but I ordered ten designs and quality was poor. They were already pilling, the stitching was crooked, and some bags had parts of them that were blurry (rushed job?). I'm not comfortable starting a business with such a poor quality product. Not sure who would be.
I'm wondering how you post pictures of the finished products. Do you have to order a sample first to take pictures of it to put on Etsy? Love your tote bags!
Great question! Printify provides you basic pictures of these products to use as your photos on Etsy with the design on it! So the little previews I showed of the items, those would be the pictures. You can also go to Etsy and search for Tote Bag Mock Ups, which is a picture someone has taken of the same item but without a design, that you can edit the photo and make it look like your design is on it! These are nice because they are usually prettier than the ones Printify offers you. Hope this helps!!

Most of the other totes are from other countries or are just double the price. So if you are shipping only to the US like I am, then these are just the best two options in my opinion. I have not tried any of the others though!

If you did a black and white design could you use markers to color the fabric for the AOP bag?
I'm sure if you use fabric markers that it would work fine! You could always order a sample and see how it goes!

Great question Nissi! I sell all of these things within one Etsy shop all as one big general store! I also sell sweatshirts, those are great sellers as well. Congrats on getting started, I know it can feel like a lot in the beginning but try to take a baby step today towards your goal. Maybe set up a Canva account and practice designing, open your Etsy shop, open your printify account etc, that way getting started doesn't feel so hard if you do the tiny steps first. It makes it easier to keep moving

Hi there! When someone purchases your item, their money goes to Etsy. Printify receives the order, then charges you credit or debit card. Depending on your Etsy settings, you receive payment from Etsy in a week or two. Hope that makes sense! Thanks for watching! :)

I always message customers about 4 star reviews when they don't say anything because sometimes they do it by accident! Just message them say something like,
" Hello ---,
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We saw you left only 4 stars though so we wanted to reach out and see if there was anything at all wrong with your item. If there was, please send us a photo and we will be happy to make it right!

If it was a mistake, they'll fix it usually or they might tell you a problem that you can then fix for them! Best of luck and thanks for all the support

There are definitely some free ones out there you can use right now as well Andrea, I know Alura.com has one, I just like having my built in on my excel spreadsheet so its always right there. I use Printful, you are going to make me change to printify… or maybe both….Printful is definitely more expensive….
Printful is great but the price difference and how backed up they get on orders is hard to compete with Printify. I'd definitely consider it if I was you! But in the meantime, no one ever said you can't have both if you wanted to sell Printify tote bags!

I have one question re the AOP Tote Bag: i created a couple of bags and tried to find mockups for the AOP Tote Bag on Etsy and Placeit, but couldn't find any. There are only mockups for the Canvas Tote. Do you use mockups for the AOP Tote Bag and if so, where do you buy them? Or do you think it is sufficient to make listings for the AOP Tote Bag without a mockup?
I haven’t found any great mocks for sale for the AOP tote so I have just been using the Prinity mocks as is. I think it’s fine to do this for an item like that where they don’t need to imagine themselves wearing it but if you ever see better mocks for them come out, then I’d switch to those!

Hi Cassiy, the canvas one, you showed us the "see through" print. Is the print "stained" on the opposite side or it just a "shade / shadow" from the front that you can really see through like you described. Once you did not open the bag, it is hard to tell.
If it is only a "see through", by having stuff inside, problem solved.
If it's a stain....no good. (in this case, most likely from printing WITHOUT threading the item on the print platen)

The bag is see through, not stained onto the back. I was just pointing out that it is a thin material. So yes when things are put in it, then it would solve that.
Hi Cassiy, thanks for the tutorial, I see that canvas port authority tote bag is out of stock everywhere which I had it in my store and now I can’t find another supplier with the similar prices and I had to adjust my prices on my store which reduced my traffic :( . Do you know when they will be back ?

I just found out about this as well, such a bummer about them being gone! I haven't heard anything from Printify as to why but I'm hoping they will be back soon. I don't think you can order them in bulk when they come back unfortunately unless you just paid for it out of pocket, but that's not really the business model we are trying to build. I'd just go ahead and post your designs on the AOP bag instead and charge the higher prices. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you!
Quick question, thanks by the way, so it looks like you didn't change the image you got from Creative Fabrica. You know there has been that controversy, so we DON'T have to add elements to the design IF we're doing POD, is that correct? Thanks!
When I buy a graphic from Creative Fabrica it comes with a high resolution of 2048 x 2048 pixels and a 300 dpi.
When I use this graphic to create a tote bag on Printify it says "high resolution."
When I create a pillow it says "medium resolution."
When I create a comforter is says "low resolution."
Do you normally create these products with these different resolutions, and if so how do they look?

Hi Cassiy! What should the canvas size be when designing on Canva for the all over tote? I can't seem to get the graphic to get on both sides of the tote properly. The top graphic covers the bottom space when I upload to Printify. Also, when doing the patterns, do we have to change the Creative Fabrica pattern somehow in order to be able to continue selling once the Creative Fabrica membership is canceled?
You can drag the designs to be bigger or smaller when you are putting them on the bag so you'll just have to play around with it until you get them right! As for Creative Fabrica, you'll just have to check the license for the graphic you are choosing!

Hello! Yes sometimes I will just list them all at the same time. You can wait until something starts selling to add old designs to tanks, totes and mugs as well though.

I don't know if Printify has recently changed their quality of tote bag, but I ordered ten designs and quality was poor. They were already pilling, the stitching was crooked, and some bags had parts of them that were blurry (rushed job?). I'm not comfortable starting a business with such a poor quality product. Not sure who would be.

Great question! Printify provides you basic pictures of these products to use as your photos on Etsy with the design on it! So the little previews I showed of the items, those would be the pictures. You can also go to Etsy and search for Tote Bag Mock Ups, which is a picture someone has taken of the same item but without a design, that you can edit the photo and make it look like your design is on it! These are nice because they are usually prettier than the ones Printify offers you. Hope this helps!!

Since I'm not from the US, I couldn't get samples quickly to check the quality. Although I saw the quality in the video you provided, I still want to ask you if this product is worth selling. Hi just found your channel, what is the reason you didnt like the other totes? Did you test them as well?
Most of the other totes are from other countries or are just double the price. So if you are shipping only to the US like I am, then these are just the best two options in my opinion. I have not tried any of the others though!
