I LOVED making these with my mom when I was a kid!
I used to love the single pizza kits from Chef Boyardee in the 70's/80's as a kid. It was just dough, sauce, and a packet of Parmesan cheese. Your's was deluxe and looked great. I recall stretching that dough out as far as it would go on a cookie sheet to make it thin and crispy and then eat the whole thing when done.
good idea John! cooking videos are even more entertaining
Indeed
That snake! Flinging fleeple! 🐍😰I’m so pathetic,I’d have to move. Bless me. 😋Wow. Anyway.. Thank you John, good to hear you Tim and Tam,awesome to see you and cooking too! Yay! 🥰🥰
Ahh Boyardee pizza maker :) The taste of the early and mid 70's US childhood
Yes so many people have said the same thing. I love food that evokes memories.
@@CheekyTam Yah.. Pity you will Never be able to enjoy an original aluminium tray Banquet TV dinners :)
I have one of those pizza kits in my kitchen I haven’t made yet but it brings me back to my childhood ❤
That pizza kit is good memories for me as a child of the 70s growing up in a small town. We had one mom and pop pizza place in town and I think Tombstone and Tostinos frozen pizzas were fairly new to the market. So we would have this as a shelf stable, feed a family for cheap meal. Mom would brown up hamburger with onions and canned mushrooms. The old pizza kits came with "cheese" to sprinkle on top. We'd make it on a sheet pan so I would always want a corner piece. Great memories of a simpler time 🍕
I know what you mean about great memories of a simpler time. Thanks for sharing
I cant remember the brand butt here was a brand of cheap frozen pizzas that had a really thin but textured crust?? It wasn't Toby's ...
Brilliant thanks John😊
Loved this video 🥰Ty john.
The pizza looks good and the video was so funny and looking good Tam
I like pizza!
You calmly filming a bloody huge snake: me getting in the car and driving to the airport for the first flight to Iceland.😅
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha I love your comment Annette so funny. New Zealand might be nice place to live no snakes or spiders there.
Thanks John
😂😂😂😂I believed the part with the avocado at first... Weeeeird, I thought 😅
Chef Boyadree was a staple in my house in the 70's-80's. I think if I bought that home John would flip lol. Although it might make a good video. You "dressed' it better!
This was very stressful for me! The amount of yelling I did at the computer screen ( as if that was gonna help)! Yes, bake it with the toppings! Don't read the side! No Avocado! You got me on that one. lol
Sorry you had to yell at your computer screen. Can't believe you don't put avocado on your pizza :P I do tend to get a little worries about making pre packaged foods thinking I"m goint to misread it, but hey it turned out really well.
@CheekyTam it did. Made me hungry for pizza too. Well done!
Oh, lord. Tam, Tim... The footage of the snake... 😮 Seeing it here in Germany it's like another planet 😂. I admire your courage to film it. I couldn't even come close to it
I think Australians get so use to having encounters with snakes and spiders. Trust me I wouldn't be so calm if it was a poisonous or deadly one.
Hi Tam 👋
Talk about memories 😊
Friday nights as a child we'd get so excited to make these. We always made them on a cookie sheet. Sometimes we'd put a different toppings on each corner.
By the way its pronounced Chef Boy R Dee
That snake was so long!
Im jealous of your warm weather. We had an jce storm this morning
Hi Balinda, yes I've seen on the news about the cold weather there and the snow. Ice storm wow can't imagine. I like the warm weather but it can be really draining we've had some crazy hot days, hence why snakes are active. I had a feeling I was pronouncing it wrong and I just kept putting an N in his name for some reason.
@@CheekyTam you made it sound fancy 🤣 🤣 🤣
🐍😱
I'm glad I live in Northern Ireland where nothing ever happens, and we like it that way. 👌
😂I'd like it there too. Good for you! Calmness and stillness are healthy for mind and body!!
Great video, Tam! I can't imagine how many millions of videos have been uploaded to TH-cam since the website started, but I suspect this is the only one that has both a long snake and a pizza making tutorial. I'm glad you liked all the toppings; I knew I couldn't send along any freshly-made cheese, that needed to stay refrigerated, so something like a shelf-stable grated parmesan cheese was the best I could do. I considered sending a can of sliced mushrooms, but I wasn't sure if you like mushrooms on your pizza. I think the end result turned out very well, and looked really good too, with the additional toppings you added. hope the other pizza turned out just as well.
Thanks so much John, the pizza and toppings were really good I was so impressed at how it turned out. I was a little anxious about making it. I can cook most things but anything like bread I've never been able to master. I can understand you sending the parmesan and I appreciate you going to the effort to make it a complete pizza combo. Yes the other pizza turned out just as well I quickly put it together and cooked it straight afterwards.
@@CheekyTamIt's a good thing that the Australian Customs Office did not decide to set aside that package for inspection. Otherwise, the pepperoni, salami and bacon would have been confiscated for sure. By the way, I made sure that the package I sent you earlier this month doesn't have any meat products, because we have seen what sort of delay that can cause.
I still make them. If you know what you're doing, you can make a pretty solid pizza with one of these kits. A lot of people screw up the dough/crust.
Avocado on pizza is actually nice!
Memories of growing up in the late 60s. Number one time, a garden party at our farm. And the pizzas just kept coming and coming. I ate a lot that day! As for the snake; I actually like snakes, except there are none where I am in the Yukon. : (
I love it when food evokes memories of more simpler times. The weather here is completely the opposite of the Yukon area atm really humid and hot hence more snakes, frogs etc. Some snakes like this one are really pretty I stay well away from the really poisonous ones though they scare me.
@@CheekyTam -40C here at the moment. Even the snow snakes are cold!
We had one of those guys (the snake, not Tim 😂) living in our shed in Newy, named him Spot … is Aussies are a weird bunch, aren’t we?
Spot a perfect name for a snake. I sometimes think people from o/s think we are kidding about our snakes and spiders here I think we just get use to it and know which ones are friendly and which aren't and yes most people is Australia have encounters with them. We are a weird bunch LOL totally agree
John must frequent bodegas to find all this stuff. I've been in the US and never have seen this.
Glad to see the pizza turned out well so you could enjoy it! At first I thought the dough would turn out too thick but could be a preference. Seems the do suggest rolling it out for a thin crust? Did you give a piece to the snake to eat?
Oh, no.. I hate snakes. Chef Boyardee is notoriously bad pizza.
Avocado on pizza is the best!
Haha yes it goes a perfect shad of brown when cooked.
It's Boy Arrr-deee. And that's pizza maker I haven't seen that since the 80's.
Did, did you just proof your dough outside?
If John sends you Ravioli from Chef Boyardee (Boy-are-dee) it's what theyre famous for, you have to cook it longer in the microwave than it says on the can. In fact Pro Tip anything from America you have to cook longer in the microwave than it says on the package because every product tries to make it seem simpler. If something says cook 1 minute, definitely do 1 minute 30-40 seconds to make sure it's actually hot. This is only for microwave stuff tho, not ovens. But it's with every microwave product
I usually cook it 3 minutes in the microwave, mix in some cheese, then cook again for another 1 minute 30 seconds. SOOO GOOOD
As a matter of fact, Tam recently received a package from me that included a microwavable can of Chef Boyardee Cheese Ravioli.
Margot Robbie and Chris Hemsworth were on Graham Norton talking about snakes going into their houses.
Yes and I sometimes wonder if people from other countries think we are just kidding when we talk about our snakes and spiders.
I was fixing to say if you put the Avocado on the pizza I'm calling the cops 😂😂😂😂 joking but Avocado on pizza should he illegal 🤣🤣🤣
haha and I wouldn't blame you for calling them
@@CheekyTam 😂😂😂😂 I love your content
I am extremely phobic of snakes. Can't watch this!
So sorry Sandi I should have pre warned you, we all have our phobias I am this way with cockroaches. It is a harmless snake and not aggressive the kind that just moves away from humans. Although I'm not that scared of snakes I will never understand how some people have them as pets...no thanks.
I’m sorry I dislike snakes
I understand we all have things we have phobias about.
