Hey Doug, I taught my budgie how to play poker. I've trained him to fly around the room and check out everyone's hand and then he perches on my shoulder and whispers into my ear. I call him 'Doyle'.
A2 fold is interesting. Like how you provided your read. Alot of times as a viewer its tough to know your villians. After listening to you I tend to agree with the fold even though at first I had a harder time with it. Good that you are able to leave after those rivers! Cheers...

Thanks for toughing it out to make content for us Doug. Hope your feeling better. Also, hope you had a fun trip in San Diego county. Can wait to see Zeus next episode 🐶.
Good content as always and good you’re mixing it up at different casinos. Some days you run bad. Can only put the money in when you’re good and hope the poker gods don’t take you behind the woodshed on bad turns or rivers.
Rough session Doug, you ran bad. On a side note, I'd make bigger raises preflop especially when limped to and especially more so when out of position. I prefer 4x the last bet + all other money on the table as a preflop raise from a blind. Your sizes look low so if you are semi bluffing you'll be called more and have to play out of position and when you have premiums you also might get called more and have to navigate more carefully. Just my thoughts
I've played with you, sorry for ur headache making decisions for ur chips and not enjoying yourself sucks. Have to say on the ace, two I would've looked up the river though I understand anything done with a viscous headache is hard to challenge. Wishing you well 👉🏼 😓
From looking outside in, that A2 looks like a slam dunk 3 bet on the flop. But from knowing the actual live intangible, i can understand because i would make this exact fold given certain opponents at my card room. The ONLY thing he could possibly have there is K X of hearts. Everything else hes raising with for value beats your value lol. I know those player types. Well played.
@@dougmccuskerpoker absolutely. Like i said, ive made big folds like this to certain opponents. Example. JhJc i had. i got an open to 12 and i 3 bet to 40. He called. Flop Ad Qd Js. I bet 55 and he jams for 485. Looks like a slam dunk call, right? Pots 655, 435 for me to call. Not even close to a call when you know your opponent has K10 lol. Getting like 1.3:1 i would need like 38-40% equity. I had like 30% (i would pick up an additional 3 outs no matter what turn is). I showed too and a few guys at the table looked at me like i was nuts lol. The villain just mucked and didnt say a word he was embarrassed as hell. Player tendencies are a huge part of the game if you know the player.
I’m sure my focus was off, I had some meds I took earlier, but a noisy casino environment didn’t help. I normally have some headphones I use for that purpose, unfortunately I didn’t pack them for the trip.
He had an over pair and flush draw, that’s a good hand in many peoples mind. It just sucks he got there with a 4 outer. I don’t mind the action at all, I would be stacking that pot 9 out of 10 times.
@@dougmccuskerpoker agreed. For as much as you play you certainly cannot be results oriented. Youll take that jam EVERYTIME. People who play recreationally from time to time are certainly going to be results oriented lol. Ive heard people say that they should have folded when they had AA and got it all in pre flop against KK and end up losing 🤣. Im like what dude? Youll win that 41 of out of 50 times
@@williamzagarella8066 recently heard a story of someone losing with top top, when a player rivered a 3 outer. He questioned if he should have called the all in. If he won the pot, would he ever question his play? Probably not.
J8ss vs multiple limps can limp behind the btn. As played on the turn it's probably not the time to size up (unless you're double barreling gunshot hands which is dicey and I doubt you're doing it.) You want a crying call from Kx.
Felt you played better than in some vlog hands you showed recently where you won and this time you lost. Poker is a horrible game at times. Definitely work on bet sizings tho
I really try not to focus on the outcome as much as I used to, but that is how most people judge your success. My bet sizing is my Achilles heal, much of my problems could be fixed by sizing up. Not as many people would chase if they feared larger bets to come.
@@dougmccuskerpoker true. There's a feeling i get when I know it's not there, even for 10 more. I've tossed so many hands of great cards based on a feeling. And a part of me just doesn't care so I let it go. But thats just me.
It appears he is on a very hot streak, made quads in a set over set when his opponent had top set. I wish him well, his vlogs are entertaining and he is making the most of his heater. The casino personal seem to like him a lot, players spoke highly of him as being a nice guy.
You bet small cuz you still think it's 1985. Money ain't worth what it was. Neither is cards. Everybody got semi smart ... nor real smart, just semi...ha.

Super Nit on my left, Nit rolled every hand. Never did it to me because I didn’t give him any action, but it got old fast.
Smart going with your read with the A/2.
It is never fun to fold a strong hand, but often necessary.

Thanks for subbing, happy you found the channel. I could always use more luck.
Those days when you get constantly rivered.. happens to us all.
Liked the fold, A2. the Rounders hand. Damon folds A4 top 2 pair, against a made straight. Good reads.

I agree, I am working on my sizing. I do have a tendency to undercharge my opponents. Thanks for your thoughts, I think you are right on the money.

It was tough, but look how happy I made my opponent. He has a story to tell now.

Thanks Jerry, playing poker with a headache is suboptimal. I look forward to my next trip to San Diego for a rematch.
Ever try chiropractic adjustments for migraines? The do wonders. I know many people who have stopped getting them after getting adjusted

Funny how things like that happen.

That’s a better line, i occasionally would barrel if I thought my opponent was weak.
That last hand was sick. Was your perception at the table aggressive? Not sure how that guy thought is 88 was good on the turn.
