I’m used to playing much longer session than you but ALWAYS step away if I’m feeling tired NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE GAME IS. I’m surprised you stuck around, especially as you normally do a lot of editing of your vlog each day. It’s remarkable you only lost half your stack especially with the 99 hand, even on your bad days you exceed what you might expect. Only shows you’re human. Best of luck next week and you still prevailed for the week.
Doug that set over set was brutal for the other guy. I love playing suited gappers (but always in position). Nice river straight with p9. That game look pretty good. Nice read on AK, and stealing pots. I've been there many times playing with fatigue even though the games are good and sometimes with one card you go from black to red real quick. Keep running good!
@@dougmccuskerpoker I usually play 4-6 hours win or lose. As long as your overall result is in the black, that's all that matters. Some of my friends if stuck can not get up from the table. This one guy even when he gets even wants to profit and majority of the time end up felted. Keeping running good Doug! Tell Zeus I said "Hi".
Thanks Doug for simply calling me a "loose player". I was opening / calling preflop wider than usual. As evident by my A6 open & call. I was indeed running hot by the time I stacked seat 1, and SHOULD have stacked seat 10 too if I thought longer and called.
@@dougmccuskerpoker Agreed. AQ and maybe a few of his flush draws do that, but he doesn’t shove there with those sets. It worked out though, I got a bunch of it later, just had to work harder. Lol
I don’t play tournaments often, it’s difficult for me to play long sessions. I lose my focus after 5 hours, some tournaments you need to grind 10 hrs or more a day.
Doug! Remember that you can cash out your chips even if you are loosing! They allow it! Wild right? Just because you are “trying to go home” doesnt mean you have to punt off an extra $200.
22: 18 is somewhat large, but I think it's ok from BU if you don't think SB or BB raise often. Last JJ hand: Love the bluff mechanically, extending it over the turn and river. Not sure how you discounted the Ax hands, but the river helped you there. He could have Ax but is afraid that you hit a flush, betting the draw on the turn and then jamming river flush.
Hi Doug, nice vlog bro, you were surprised this donkey called 8/7 off for $60, well Im sure youve watched Highstakes poker at the Hustler, Ive seen it all , for all the $$$, all sorts of gamblers play this game, sometimes it seriously just doesnt make any sense at all, people will always gamble, roulette poker, especially in the lower stakes streets, you can only play the player and the odds, hope youre well, best regards (Chemo soon) Fraser
@@beachfraser3747 this particular player normally plays sound poker. He came in with a burning desire to mix it up. Hope you handle the chemo well. Will be sending positive thoughts your way.
@24:43 A7 of diamonds. Thought you had the ace of spades as it was not accounted for and I would only be beating a3 or a4 plus the back door came in. In theory I made the right fold but I wanted to call real bad lol. Well played
Thanks for letting the followers and myself know what you had. I was targeting KK and QQ, I felt if you had an A it would be a strong A. If you thought my line was legit, you would have to assume you were out kicked.
My lesson learned on long sessions. Now that I'm in my 70s, I still like my game until I get to 2-3 hours in. If I go longer, I start making stupid mistakes. After 2-3 hours, I try to get my butt out of the chair, especially if I'm ahead; otherwise my history shows that I'm probably going home losers.
Not that mad, bluffing a strong range was bad, but the check raise bluff balances my check raise range. If I always check raise with nutted hands, I will never get called. Unfortunately, he felt his hand was too good to fold. Other good players I spoke with really liked the play. My opponent just over valued one pair. 90% of the time I make that play, one pair is no good.
What's a valid use for the limp reraise? It's always struck me as the play of a novice who thinks he's being clever while effectively turning his hand face up. Given that Doug does this, I'm now certain I'm losing value from entirely omiting this play from my toolbox.
The only time I’ll ever limp re raise is in an extremely loose game. If I have super aggressive players to my left I will occasionally do it if I have a tighter image. A lot of time people will call 20 and then feel committed when 4 people call and I pop it to 135
Hyper aggressive games where your stack size is under 100bb. Your hand is face up, but those supper loose players don’t care. It’s not a play I do often.
7:00 85o gets in a 3!bet pot...then calls a flop (3c45h) shove and jams with top pair 8 kicker () and then get bailed out in river. . That reminds me of a similar hand (Q4o) called my (AK) 3-bet PFR, and was calling all my strong bets on all streets...just to river the straight (AKJ6T), and clean my stack. Then, that individual, played as tight as it gets for the rest of the session. As if, he saw through the deck, was there only to clean my stack with that garbage hand, and then back off??? Usually, there is one person per table of that caliber. Go ahead, read their hands. . _last edit: 1 hour after post_
Straight raw poker no gimmick no fancy editing , great work .

Keep it up Doug
Thanks! I appreciate that.
I've never really considered my playing time, this is something I will explore in the future. Thanks for another great video.
I used to play 12 hrs. and still play my “A” game. As I’ve aged, my focus has slipped. 4 hrs is probably my limit right now.
JJ working out for you when you call and when you don't want a call. Great vlog!

Where was Zeus’ commentary after the pocket 9s punt 😂
Zeus didn’t like bluffing into a strong range, but he did like the check raise to balance my cr range against a thinking player.
