1- snsd didn't disband they are basically on hiatus because all the members are busy with solo activities, some members didn't renew with sm but all of them even 2weeks ago were on a show where they talked about how they were trying to organize their schedules to be able to have a comeback again
2- snsd has a subunit with all the members left in sm it's called OHGG & they released a single album later
3- all night mv doesn't have much views like gee because it was overshadowed by the other title track (called holiday) released for the 10th anniversary as well
4- I don't know about the requester but basically, most of us were disappointed by sm messy promotions for the comeback especially for the second title track aka "all night", most of the fandom felt all night deserved better promotions

All Night is a god damn masterpiece. If only SM let them promote it enough! The views for it got divided with Holiday because both were released together as double titles for their 10th Anniversary album (one of the best albums in k-pop imo). Hope to see more GG reactions from you.
The 10th anniversary title track should of been "Girls are back"
SNSD really paved the way for girl groups, back when they debuted, girl groups really weren't getting much recognition besides Wonder Girls, and even at the 2008 Dream Concert they received a black ocean from the mainly male group-biased fans... But the 9 "goddesses" of SNSD persevered, and they won the hearts of Koreans in 2009 with "Gee"!
They debuted in 2007 with "Into the New World" and after their success with "Gee", they released hit after hit and found immense domestic popularity, securing many endorsement deals for the coming years. They slayed concepts from the iconic sailor/marine concept of "Genie", to the cheerleaders of "Oh!", to the bad girls of "Run Devil Run", and the Bond girls of "Hoot"!
In 2011 they made their Japanese debut with "Mr. Taxi" and also released their "The Boys" album in the U.S. and even performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. In 2012, they focused on their activities in Japan and when they made their 2013 comeback with "I Got a Boy", its experimental nature was groundbreaking - some call it the "Bohemian Rhapsody" of K-pop!
"Mr. Mr" was released in 2014 after their further Japanese activities, although it's also the last release to feature member Jessica, who left the group to pursue her fashion line. SNSD returned as 8 members in 2015 with "Catch Me If You Can" and "Lion Heart", and their current latest comeback was in 2017 with "Holiday" and "All Night". While 3 of the remaining members did not re-sign with SM, the group has not disbanded, and there are even talks of a potential comeback in the future ;o
For me, "Genie" was the 1st K-pop song I heard, because my sister told me to listen to it on her iPod one day and asked me what I thought about it, and I completely didn't realise that the point she wanted to make was that it was all in Korean. But I didn't think much of it at the time. Until she showed me the "Gee" MV, then between that and "Hoot", I got sucked in, seeking out their other MVs, and that was about 10-11 years ago now :')

Almost the entire contents of two different video shoots for this video were inadvertently destroyed. Problem with going digital and not backing up properly. They stitched together what they could salvage as best they could, plus a third (11th-hour) reshoot.

Dude... if you're going from "Gee" to those two songs with nothing else from Girl's Generation I am SO excited to watch you catch up on them. They never really revisit a concept and they kill everything they do. They are my intro to Kpop, first and longest loves in the genre. There's too much to catch you up on in a comment so I don't know what to say. Taeyeon is King :), Tiffany is the girl that was talk rapping... there's a joke that Irene is Taeyeon and Tiffany's baby so it's funny you thought of her. Jessica was my favorite before she wasn't in the group, she's in Mr. Mr. and I'm pretty sure that's her last official video with them. All Night is actually my favorite single, no idea why people don't like the video except maybe because it's their 10th anniversary video/last vid as a full unit. My favorite B-side is Check.
SNSD and Super Junior are very versatile, they've done literally every concept (SM groups in general) but those two are just on a different level

All Night is probably one of the best tracks GG has ever put out imo. Unfortunately, the mv was released along with their other track 'Holiday' which appealed more to the general public so it was promoted more, I guess. They also released a documentary version of the mv along with the 'clean' version. I guess that confused the people a little bit on which one they should watch. I think all of that contributes to why the song didn't get much attention or view despite the fact that it's a freaking masterpiece

Personally I adored all night, I watched so many lives and interviews seeing that this was their last album before 3 members left the company (but not the group). The lyrics are super nostalgic. Alot of talk of what a fun ride it (being girls generation) was, how much the old says taught them stuff like that. So I recommend you check out the lyrics.
Tiffany is the girl you asked about in All Night, and as for Mr. Mr. That was released in 2014 a few months before Jessica left the group making them a group of 8 now. She was a very large part of the group. You just so happened to have watched the two MV's that ended an era. Wow. OMG you reacted to my ult girl group. SNSD have great discography you would like it. To answer your questions: my bias is sooyoung but I love all the members really, I have been a fan since genie comeback and still is. By the way they haven’t disbanded they are just on hiatus and they mentioned recently on a show that they have been trying to find a time between their busy solo activities schedules to have a comeback; they had time last year but covid and quarantine ruined their plan last year. Idk if the requester doesn’t vibe with mvs like all night or if they couldn’t explain well but most of not all of the fandom were disappointed by messy promo sm did for all night and the reason the mv doesn’t have many views like other title tracks is because it was overshadowed by the other title track released at the same time the other track is called Holiday by the way

7:20 I... disagree lol. I hate how non-uniform modern kpop is. I know I sound like the old 2nd gen stan that I am but I feel like it really added something. Especially when groups would wear the same base outfit with only certain elements and accessories changed for each member. I like when groups looked like groups. And it helped each era to have a distinct and iconic look/ aesthetic. Now SO many kpop groups wear basically the same style of 'cool'/dressed-up streetwear outfits for whole different album cycles and the aesthetics-focused pop culture fanatic in me seethes every time. (I also got into kpop with SNSD and they were very intentionally dressed the same for concept/ marketing reasons for a while so as a SONE I have an affection for it).
And, to be honest, some of these stylists just don't know how to style whole groups of people differently. A lot of them look like they just tripped and fell out of a Forever 21 dressing room. Like TWICE is my favorite modern group but their Knock Knock and Likey eras??? Now...
I agree. SNSD stylists rarely did a bad job. Every outfit was super memorable that it defined every era. Also really love the uniformed clothes because when I was young, that what made me differentiate KPOP to western artists. Nowadays every group just decided to scrap the idea and became more and more western for me. (not that it's a bad thing but I just miss the time when KPOP groups made me think they're an actual cult and army with the uniformed groups lmao it was fun). Twice uniformed era in Cheer Up and Heartshaker was so iconic now Knock Knock, Likey era on the other hand was a mess......

Anyway the thing for me is even now I find the groups are pretty similar in concept and sound( I don't mean it as a bad thing, but hearing everyone talking about 2nd gen music sounds all the same as if it's not the case now too), like very few songs or outfits that have survived and are memorable

god, mr. mr. is THAT song!!! as a jessica bias it's very dear to me bc it's their last korean comeback with her (and also bc the vocals in the final chorus are unparalleled). too bad about the video though, SM basically lost most of the footage and had to piece something together quickly, the parking lot scene was a last minute thing that they filmed because they needed more clips of them dancing lol.

All Night had lesser views because it was only their 2nd title track for their 10th anniversary. It was outshadowed by their other title track on the same album.

Ha, I had a similar intro to kpop as you except I didn’t venture much beyond SNSD for many years. All Night is probably one of my favourite kpop songs full stop, the lack of attention it got was disappointing (but absolutely par for the course with songs I love haha). Your reaction was delightful

YES at last! They were my intro to Kpop as well, though Oh! is the one that I found before Gee. I spent at least 6 months in 2010 just listening to SNSD before I ventured out into other groups.
Mr Mr is actually one of my favourites despite the hastily thrown together mv (they lost the footage), the dance practise is worth a watch, but it's difficult to pick, maybe Hoot, Genie (you mentioned legs haha) or Way To Go? Their Japanese discography is particularly strong too, Bad Girl is amazing but the audio quality on the yt upload is unlistenable. Holler from their TTS subunit is also great. My favourite b-side is maybe Karma Butterfly or Flyers?
If you've never seen the I Got A Boy it's a must watch, a part of Kpop history! All Night was such a strong way to go out, though I still hope for an OT8 comeback someday. The views are probably lower because they released Holiday (a joint title track) and the documentary version of All Night the day before, also SM didn't give them any of the usual promotion (speculation is that they were putting pressure on them to resign their contracts which 3 of them didn't just after this). They did have an Oh!GG subunit comeback as 5 in 2018. Taeyeon, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Seohyun and Jessica all have solo music as well.

Disclaimer we are not disappointed with the video but we disappointed with SM promotion...it's their 10th anniversary but SM just gave them 3 days promotion because 3 members didn't renew their contract..
people said they wouldn't make it to keep the group alive while they're in different agencies, even though they always gather once a year together and share some pictures with fans through out the years but in 2021 they appeared the first time in an official broadcast standing with the group name proving everyone is wrong..in fact they're stronger than ever because every members have their own solo careers, bringing new fans from all fields (drama, variety shows, movies, music, musical) and make a name for themselves which make them so powerful when they're together now
They're the reason why today you find a lot of groups not disbanding after some of the members left the agency

I won't argue that All Night is better MV than Mr. Mr. especially because of the era it is made. Another factor is that Mr. Mr. MV is rushed because something happened to it's original one.
Guess you would love The Boys, Vocal Wise. It is very "Britney spears"-y in my opinion. But it's very epic. Just like I Got a Boy, which is another song of Girls Generation. The song that is said is not appreciated before because it's concept is ahead of it's time.

If only SM release All night as a Single or Solo title track back then, then the song maybe got the attention of people. All night was actually released with a double title track which is Holiday so Holiday outshined All night but snsd members themselves loves All night more than Holiday so it means alot.
For Mr mr MV, SM lost the original footage of the MV that's why the quality isn't that great.

ang yas SNSD is the Standard for most. the group has top tier vocalists and dancers; TAEYEON being the standard for what a MAIN VOCALIST should be and HYOYEON the OG dancing machine. their lead vocalists are mains material and even their sub-vocalists has one heck of techniques.

The chorus repetition of "All night, all night, all night" is the same as Let's Groove by Earth, Wind & Fire.

All Night also copies parts of Red Velvet's song Red Flavor which was released less than one month before Girls' Generation released All Night.
Hmm, I definitely wouldn't call it copying. Definitely some inspiration from Let's Groove for sure, especially given the style of the MV
you do know that all artists prepare comebacks for months before release, right?! because if you think artists prepare comebacks in less than a month then you need to learn more about music releases; SNSD had their comeback ready throughout the entire year & was just released during their 10th anniversary. Also with all due respect please learn the meaning of the word copying because both songs are completely different & having inspiration doesn't mean it's copying
@@acetobase5 Having been in the music industry for almost 30 years I have a very good understanding of it. There's a fine line between copying, inspired by, sampling, re-interpreting, plagiarism, etc. As I clearly stated SNSD copied parts of at least two songs. SNSD may have prepared months before, so would have Red Velvet. It's no coincidence SM used the same parts as they're both from the same company. Cooky was a copy of Mickey by Toni Basil, Dancing Queen was a copy of Mercy by Duffy. The 2011 f(x) song Hot Summer, was recorded as a demo song titled Take Over by SNSD. Again both groups were from the same company but the original song was written, recorded and released in 2007 by a German pop group Monrose.
btw Red Velvet also copied Avril Lavigne's Skater Boi for the hook on Power Up.
