      it was fucking spectacular. i loved it when (semi awesome scene spoilers incoming)
      the broken ship piece revealed vader with the death troopers looking at the blockade runner escape and him angrily retracting his lightsaber.

      It was the best scene ever. Everyone runs to the door, it's jammed. They all turn around to stare into an empty darkness. The silence gets broken by the trademarked Vader breathing (and at this point everyone in the audience can hear the heartbeats of all the soon to be victims). Then the saber lights up and you see him in his majesty ready to slice and dice.

      Sorry, but you really dont know what you are saying (I said the same when carried away by nostalgia while watching Rogue One). The equivalence is not there, anywhere. The scene in Rogue One is 100% fanservice with basic movie knowledge (and some well executed VFX). The scene in Empire has emotional undertone, estabilished expectation, suspense and foreshadowing throughout the entire movie, subtle details in everything, from scenography, sound effect, score, moment, narrative, so on. I could talk a lot more about how different in quality and grasp of audiences for years to come these two scenes are. I always like to say something great about Empire Strikes Back. That movie deserves It.

      TJ Wells This other character is strong with the force so he can sense it but he was never trained to use it, so he doesn't know how to use things like telekinesis. Kinda like when Luke was trying to learn how to sense the force in A New Hope and Han's all like that's just luck.

      shredBucketheadshred No I'm not new to Star Wars. My whole life I have been engrossed in them. It's an opinion and I'm entitled to it. The atmosphere, character outfits, music, and overall arching mood just really felt reminiscent of the original trilogy. I also thought the character interactions were fantastic. I liked the force awakens but there were several huge problems with it such as Rey magically defeating Kyle Ren at the end with no previous training and the death star scene felt like an anticlimactic, boring, dumbed down version of the original that lacked any motive.

    the climax and ending to this movie was fucking incredible. THe last scene with Vader was insane. Tbh Rogue one was WAY better than Star Wars The Rehashed Disney SJW Nonsense Awakens.

    • @Joshcoshbagosh
      @Joshcoshbagosh 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      honestly my only issue was that it may have been a bit lacking in character development. Other than, I thought it was great. Again, the ending and climax is just sooooo good. Something I loved about Rogue One is taht it didnt "feel" like a Disney movie like TFA did (in my opinion).

    • @ringodeathstarr6070

    • @Joshcoshbagosh
      @Joshcoshbagosh 8 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Ringo Deathstarr why do people always have to bring up this whole "care about the characters" nonsense? So overrated. Why cant you just appreciate emotional scenes and shit? Why do you have to watch 10 movies before hand for a characters death to mean anything? So fucking dumb. Its not always solely about the characters themselves. Often times its the idea. What they died for. What they and their deaths represent

    • @Campy_Camel
      @Campy_Camel 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshcoshbagosh I have to agree with Ringo. Their mission and what they had to do was incredible but as they died 1 at a time I didn't really feel much because most of them didn't have any character to them. Like they weren't very relatable, didn't have much of personality and they were just boring characters. Except for the droid and the blind guy. Lol. Other than that though I still think Rogue One is a good movie. Especially the last 10 minutes

    • @Nick-tp3ug
      @Nick-tp3ug 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joshcoshbagosh You don't need 10 movies before hand for a character's death to mean anything. Watch Me, Earl and the Dying Girl as an example. It just depends on how well done it is. And Star Wars: Rogue One was NOT well done in my opinion.

      Well, being a 'bad movie' has some elements of subjectivity.

    • @thibaldus3
      @thibaldus3 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Concerning TFA I enjoyed it in some parts but I was extremely disappointed by the amount of rehashing and copy pasting from EpIV.
      A bit more work on worldbuilding, more time on characters like Finn and Poe (extremely underdevelopped) and avoiding the repetition (a Third Death Star, a second old emperor like figure appearing on an hologram, another death from the mentor killed by his son/son-like figure, etc) and I would consider it a very good movie.

    • @Gadget-Walkmen

      LOL Screw that, TFA did NOT "left a slight bitter taste" AT ALL as this movie is comparable and along the same line as TFA overall as a whole from being great films on what they were trying to be and accomplish! NOTHING about The Force Awakens left a "slight better taste" AT ALL as it was satisfying all the way throughout despite it's scattered issues in it by bringing back Star Wars.
      Force Awakens though is still FANTASTICALLY executed as a Star Wars film that's actually super fun and exciting to watch with likable characters, Great action, good humor, and fantastic practical effects/cgi to watch and enjoy.
      This movie Rogue one AND Force Awakens are still the best Disney star wars movies as VERY enjoyable films as a whole as GREAT star wars movies.

    To those arguing whether Rogue One or Force Awakens is better, stop. It's pointless. You're never going to change the mind of the other person. The two films are too dissimilar. It'd be like comparing Fantastic Beasts to Deathly Hallows Part 1. They're both good, each with their own different flaws, each with elements they did better than the other film, and, in the end, it just comes down to personal preference.

      J'onn the Martian Yes, they are very simple characters but at least they're likable/charismatic.
      I really couldn't care less about the main leads in Godzilla. I only cared about Ken Watanabe's character and that's probably because 1 - He is Ken Watanabe and 2 - He's called Dr. Serizawa who was a character I liked from the original 1954 Godzilla.

    Man, I saw it last night and I LOVED IT! About the bumpy intro: No. It is not a flaw, it is a PERFECT way to say "there's turmoil in the Galaxy" without saying it in a Yellow Letter crawl (which this movie bravely does without). The familiar "Yay, STAR WARS! Lemme see what we are getting into, let me calm down, breathe and relax aaaannd...go" that the Letter Crawl does for us all has been replaced with a disturbing and gritty view of what it's actually going on!

    • @MatthewThomasofHouseThomas
      @MatthewThomasofHouseThomas 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I really like the fact that they did not use the letter crawl. I expect that going forward, the letter crawl will only be used in core films and not anthology films. It is a nice touch in terms of creating a distinction which a lot of people are not seeing.

Kinda still feel an urge to cry like a baby because of how spiritual, symbolic, and meaningful to the franchise 'Rogue One' was. The movie almost felt like a gift to all the different Star Wars fans, and it also brought a different edge and some new depths to the saga as a whole.

      Man! I did get it bro, i was like "HOLD ON A SECOND, IVE HEARD A SYNDULLA BEFORE.". Then i remembered Rebels captain Hera Syndulla. It was a hype moment.

    I have a question for others who saw the movie. The cameo of C3PO and R2D2 showed them on the planet that blew up and NOT on the ship that Princess Leia was shown on. How did those droids survive?

      Joe Schmoe they were on Yavin IV not the planet that blew up.

      Shouldn't they have been on the ship with Leia though? She put's the plans in R2D2.

      When they showed them, that was when the volunteers went. They were put on board when the Rebel fleet showed up for support.

    This movie is heavily underrated especially after the sequel trilogy failure

    Quite easily the best most modern installment from Star Wars. Amazing film, amazing cast, a plot that isn’t too forced, and that feeling that the Rebellion ACTUALLY has a menacing/towering enemy. Its all there, compared to the other modern SW films, there is no argument.
