      Exactly my thought... Like MAYBE it could work for lower paying or minimum wage jobs (and really only some of those- because even when I was in high school they would just say "we only accept applying online"). But for example someone in engineering, you can't really just walk into the corporate office or manufacturing site lmao

    This is why I love gaining wisdom from old rich people. Like good old Dave says, I’ve heard the advice of young rich people and they’re stupid. Learn from the people who took a realistic path, worked a regular career, and turned it into money via long term decisions.

      Lol, go ahead listen to the old, rich folks. The way the got rich isn't the same anymore. Unless you plan on working at the same job for 30 years and buying a house for two or three times your annual salary and having it quadruple in value over the next 25 years.

    • @tomw485
      @tomw485 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don’t listen to this other clown that commented. My wife and I are multimillionaires in our late 30’s with no family inheritance (in fact we’re both wealthier now than either of our parents currently). We’re still working full time and in 20 years I’m guessing we’ll easily have 20-30m+ to our names given our current track.
      Want to know how we’re doing it? I work in a technical sales/bus dev career and my wife works in accounting and finance. We have a combined salary of well over 500k currently and investments add another 150-200k in capital gains annually. We both work hard in our corporate jobs, we’re very positive people excited to take on new challenges, we aggressively save our money and carefully invest (mostly mutual funds, index funds and a small portion in individual stocks) and we live well under our means (we save over half our income to invest). Our house is nice but not big and nothing ostentatious. An outsider would probably think we probably have and earn far less than we do.
      So if you want a similar track…Find a well paying career, work hard and excel. Save aggressively and invest but do it carefully. Live well below your means. If you get married find a partner with similar values and attitudes towards money. If they also have a well paying job that’s a plus but just having a great marriage with similar values is what’s really important.
      And lastly exercise some patience. Money rarely comes fast but the more you accumulate the faster it comes in. (We didn’t feel well off until the last 3-4 years where out net worth really started to increase exponentially especially with our investments). r path. The people acting like you can’t build significant wealth anymore without blind dumb luck are absolutely clueless. That’s a myth perpetuated by lazy hateful people who can’t stand to see you succeed.
      There you go. That’s our formula. We didn’t found a unicorn tech startup, no crypto scheme, no crazy social media presence. Just intelligent hard work and discipline with money.

    The rich get richer and the poor get poorer because the rich continue to do the things that made then rich in the first place, and the poor continue to do the things that left them poor (mostly). Children of the rich see what their parents do and emulate, and they learn lessons about money and business that the average poor kid doesn’t. Not surprising there’s a very different teen mentality.

    • @Thesakuraharona
      @Thesakuraharona หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      True, but there is also an emphasis on connections, and doing whatever it takes to continue generating wealth. I am convinced most rich people do not allow their kids to play video games (or much of it anyway) or other such activities unless there is a potential to make valuable connections or improve some skill that can be turned into money. It is a completely different mindset.
      Not to even talk about the fact that many of these individuals have enough money to hire someone to do the actual hard work. They can afford the best education, after school activities, and in many cases parents will get their kids a foot in the door at a good job.
      So this goes beyond just hard work. It is a different game entirely most of the time.

You have to apply online and even if you qualify, there’s no guarantee your resume will be seen. Also a lot of companies are contracting their employees to save money. I work at huge firm through a temp agency and make basically a poverty wage even though I work full time and have my degree. They grocery store tried to have our school banned because the stealing was so bad. Also you can't walk into a place and ask for a job anymore. Job hunting is the hardest thing I've done in my life haha. I am trying to switch job roles and I am applying to jobs where I would take a 40% pay cut and im wayyy overqualified for. Over 20 years ago, I saw a study that showed that, in general, women who make more than their male partners will tend to lose respect for them over time.
    Fact is, we have a society where it’s just expected that the man will be the primary income provider, and it’s expected that he WILL work to support the family. The woman is given the freedom (by society) to work or not work, based on her feelings. And once children come along, if one parent is going to leave the workforce to stay home with the kids, it’s supposed to be the woman.
    Remember, I said, “in general.”
    There’s alway exceptions.
