Swami describes the often difficult things so well that everyone can understand them. This is contemporary oriented spirituality as it needs to be taught today. Swami, you are a true source of information for people like me who call themselves seekers. I have been following you for a long time and you never cease to amaze me with your profound knowledge.
Namo Narayan Swamiji, This was the first time I have listened to Purushsuktam. Really moved when I listened to your explanation. Pranam and my hearty thanks for all your efforts.
The superb chanting, the translation and soothing low frequency background music made me fall into deep a trance. This has pushed me towards devotional side of the vedanta and filled me with the sweetness as every word in the praise of Lord cleared up my cluttered mind and made it free. Swamiji, I loved this too much. Vedantins becomes dry when they stick only to Gyan marg and such discourses give them opportunity to fill their heart with devotion . Without devotion and knowledge , the path to Lord becomes impossible. My prostrations at ur feet swamiji🙏
An important point is to not take the Purusha Suktam literally, but to understand, that poetically, the Brahman is described. The Brahman is not a being with a 1000 arms and 1000 heads, but rather, it is infinite. Swamiji does a great job explaining the Suktam.

Thank you for this beautiful exposition of the Purusha Suktam. Your words and voice mesmerizingly brought out the essence of the Rishi's vision. The music in the background takes one to a meditative silence. The English version composed by Swamiji is as beautiful as the original hymn in Sanskrit. Immense gratitude 🙏

Beautiful and so soothing to hear from Swami's voice. Have heard the Sanskrit chants of Purusha Suktam quite sometimes but never understood the meaning quite in depth. The English translation of the Sanskrit mantras in parallel helped a lot. Thanks for sharing 🙏
As a hindu who have deeply tried to understand the difference between sikhi and vedanta, I feel there is no difference among them, best thing guru did was continuing martial culture of monkhood which lost from ancient India but continued in East asia. But I didn't like that it removed meditative and spiritual part from the teaching. While vedanta kept meditation but didn't kept martial monkhoodness , because a strong person can establish dharma as Krishna said, this power is important
Pranam Swamiji, In verse 23 it is stated that those who know this sacred knowledge of the Lord, will excel those very gods indeed. Is this sacred knowledge referred to impersonal transcendent Brahman and not the personal Ishvarar?. Om Shanti
You are wrong about the western concept of God being separate from His creation. Ephesians 4:10 NASB1995 [10] He who descended is Himself also He who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things. God is all and in all. Ephesians 4:6 NASB1995 [6] one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. Truth is One. As long as you think one religion or belief system is better than another you are still deceived. All things are equal. Everything in this reality is seemingly a mix of light and darkness, of truth and falsehood, even within ourselves. Only when we are capable of discerning the true from the false can we see the pure unobstructed truth that we call God and only by knowing God can we know our self.
Very interesting...It is so easy to misunderstand this aspect for us Westerners... Still, I believe that in the first minutes of your intervention, it is questionable to say that God, in the Western understanding, is "separated from the creation'... There is an immanence (horizontal axis of the Cross,...), by which God is pervading every aspect of the creation and is directly accessible through it.. Requiring a bit of practice to rub off all the accumulated sediments from his eyes/soul/consciousness... Have a very nice day.
Brilliant job, Sir. A question - if the vedas came from sacrifice that was offered by the Gods - what hymns were chanted by the devas in their ritual - which hymns came before Vedas?
Your question “What hymns were chanted by the devas in their ritual?” presumes that hymns were chanted. Since the English translation in this video indicates that a “mental rite” was performed and since this could be performed without the chanting of hymns, the aforesaid assumption may not be justified.
Indians since Krishna, learned that the mother is primary and father is secondary, so instead of Krishna and Radha, they say Radha and Krishna and Saraswathi, Durga are the seat of knowledge and power. Mother not only produces progeny, but also takes care of all functions of the household. They also created their cultural tradition.
I think a bridge between the west and east should be united. The similarities between the two are astounding. Jordan Petersons' round table on Exdous is a great example of similarities. But I also see that some Western scholars have a surface level understanding of Hinduism and miss the deep phiolosopical insights.

I am a Hindu, but I find it interesting that Purusha is sacrificed similar to how Jesus was sacrificed. Edit: I guess the difference are the results of the sacrifice.
Jesus realized that he was god, and that all of us are. Jo 10:34. Jesus' sacrifice is the sacrifice of God, and our own sacrifice carrying our own cross is also the sacrifice of God. God is here, feeling every feeling with us. For we are not alone, and we are one. From the dust we came, to the dust we return. There is nothing separating us from the Earth or the Universe except an idea of separation. In overcoming the idea of separation, one meets God and conquers death.

the effort of making such a smooth translation is impressive, but translating indraścāgniśca as "burning fire"? poor Indra, chopped off mercilessly! : o ) and the directions/cardinal points arising from puruṣa’s "hearing", diśaḥ śrotrāt.
