It does kinda suck to have to do the same thing all the time and go to work and do the same thing everyday like we’re robots, but I think just being thankful for the people you love like your family, friends, your partner, can over ride this feeling of emptiness. And when we become angels in heaven, we will get to serve the lord in our everyday lives, which is work, and it is repetitive, but it’s the most fulfilling and gratifying job there is
true. When we are with God we will be living our God-given design, so we will be fulfilled in what we do! Unlike on earth, where there is pain and suffering. In the meantime we can depend on the Lord for strength and comfort.
Ask God to reveal Himself to you, sincerely and wholeheartedly. Only He can give you hope, the scales on your eyes will fall to reveal your true purpose in Him. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Gal 5:22-23)! Christ gives us freedom that we can never experience apart from Him. Nothing in this world will ever fill this hole in your heart!
I would argue that part of the reason why Christians often struggle to enjoy this life is because they think they're waiting for something better. Us Atheists on the other hand, we accept that this is the only life we're going to get. We get to make our own purpose, and appreciate the fact that it's finite.

I have my family (wife and kids) and my interests (music, science, writing, gaming, photography, etc.) And I aim to one day be in a position where I can help other people make their lives easier. I don't need to think that a God is watching over me, or that I'll go to a magical kingdom after death. I'm okay with my life coming to an end one day.
Interesting take. We, too, believe that this is the only life we get on earth. However, life isn't always fair because we as humans have free will. Unfortunately not everyone looks out for everybody, resulting in evil and chaos. When you're Christian you call this sin. Being a Christian isn't simply trying to escape to a better place, it is allowing God to repair and restore brokenness as a result of the evil in the world. This is possible when we submit to what God desires because He is holy and good. Heaven can be experienced through the union between man and God, with this being perfected when we die and our soul goes to heaven. There is so much more that an atheist may not be able to tap into because they simply deny the spiritual. If you are willing, open yourself up and ask God - whoever it may be - to reveal Himself to you. Ask genuinely. He is alive and the one true God will hear.
@@elysbornagain I appreciate the response, and I understand where Christians are coming from, I'm just pointing out how our positions produce different attitudes towards life. The reason why I don't accept that there's any kind of afterlife is because the various claims associated with it remain nothing more than speculation. "If you are willing, open yourself up and ask God - whoever it may be - to reveal Himself to you." Why would I bother to do this if I don't think anything could even be listening? To even attempt such a thing suggests that I already believe, to some degree. I need step 1 on the ladder, not step 2. "He is alive and the one true God will hear." This is just a claim, and this is the problem. Plenty of people have "reached out" to a God and found a different one to yours. This is all about psychology and expectations. So again, not only do I have no reason to think a God could even be listening, but I also have no reason to think it's your God in particular.
Amen! ❤

This is exactly how I have been feeling- thank you for posting!
God bless you!

Whats this purpose you’re making for yourself?
