Lol yeah this is the best easiest and cheapest way that I have seen, it’s probably the most accurate way to do it as well, good luck getting yours level 😀
Once you clamp the hose doesn’t that create a vacuum which would restrict the fluid from leving out? Or is the clamp just tight enough to hold the hose and not restrick the air flow in the hose?
You don’t clamp it hard enough to seal the hose off, yes you need air to flow in and out, the clamp is just to hold the hose above the frame that you are trying to level, so don’t clamp it too hard😀
How can I make them wedges easily. Many videos on how to make them by using a wedge jig. Is it possible to make wedges without a jig? .I am planning on releveling my mobile home.
I have never made them, these are from a different mobile home I bought and moved, I will need to make some soon though, if I was going to do it without a jig I would pencil my angle on the 2x4 and keep my 2x4 long so I could hold onto it safely, a little able saw would be best.
The end should be well above the frame that you are trying to level so the liquid doesn’t spill out, the liquid will self level as long as you don’t have any kinks or air bubbles, I hope that answers your question.😀
Not to be a Negative Nelly because I know that you do things to save the most money and you do a wonderful job but this way seems like a lot of work. Do you know how much does it cost for an actual level?
Lol yeah I have tons of actual levels but they wouldn’t be nearly as accurate, this method ensures that the back of the home and every inch of the home is perfectly leveled, I don’t see how that is possible with a normal level, I hope I answered your question. Thanks for watching.
This is a pretty common method for leveling. I've seen pros use this method for leveling a mobile home. I think Frugal is on the right track here. Only thing I would recommend is that use a rubber mallet to to drive shims under the frame
Hello, I'm not sure if you will see this seeing how the video was released over a year ago. I moved into my first mobile home last year and I need to level it and I'm going to be 58 (f) next month. I will be tackling this all by myself. What diameter is the hose? I thought it looked about 3/8". My second question is do you have any pointers? I bought two jacks and now after reading the replies I will now be buying a rubber mallet.
I think it’s 3/8 hose that would work just fine I use 8 ton bottle jacked with a thick plate to distribute the weight and not bend the frame of the home. Try to start with the jug of water at the highest point, you could even make it the highest point intentionally, we are just talking about 1 inch or so. you can definitely do this by yourself, it’s harder if the skirting is on, any questions you have just ask away😀
Wow, I thought this would never be seen LOL. There is no skirting so that's a plus and there's plenty of room for me to get under there. And yes thank you for letting me know about putting something between the Jack and the frame so that it does not bend!
@@wendy101b.9 yeah I use a thick metal plate and a piece of 2x4 lumber sometimes wood against the frame and the metal between the wood and the Jack, metal prevents the Jack from sinking into the wood and splitting it. Good luck and feel free to ask more.😘
Well for the next time you want to level something, also good for leveling any block walls or outdoor projects, first time I used a water level I was building foundation forms for a shop building.
If you can lower the high spot it doesn’t matter, if you can’t lower that spot you will need to set up the stationary water jug at the high spot, I mean if you come to a higher spot that you can’t lower to the water jug then you will need to move the water to the high spot. I hope this answers you question. 😄
I wonder why, it was very easy for me, what’s different, size of the hose or viscosity of the liquid? Air bubbles climb right out of the hose as I lift it.
Yeah you are right, 1/8 inch is not noticeable inside the home, however I was also wanting to see how much it had settled because I was going to tile the floor and if it had settled unevenly I didn’t want to start my tile job, thanks for watching
This is the only video i could find that explains and shows you how to do it. Kudos
Yeah, water will always find level, so it is very easy and simple, good luck getting it level 😀
Great video man! Appreciate the time spent to teach
Thanks, I’m glad if it can help you in some way, thanks for watching.😀
"Don't lose your Kool-Aid" is the best line. Your video is helpful; that is now how I plan to level mine!
Lol yeah this is the best easiest and cheapest way that I have seen, it’s probably the most accurate way to do it as well, good luck getting yours level 😀
Thanks for the inexpensive working unit and how to use it. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya
Yeah I’m happy if it can help you.😀
Very informative looks like the most accurate way to do it and the simplest
Yeah it’s definitely fool proof
Awesome thanks
You’re welcome!

Really useful. Thank you.
I’m happy that it was useful to you.😀
How do you know how high to place the hose?

I wish i had seen this much earlier....lol...hugs

You really don’t need clear tubing for the whole length, just a couple of feet on each end of a garden hose.
Yeah that’s true but you do want to get the air bubbles out, you really only need one end of it clear.
How do I find the highest point
If you can lower the high spot it doesn’t matter, if you can’t lower that spot you will need to set up the stationary water jug at the high spot, I mean if you come to a higher spot that you can’t lower to the water jug then you will need to move the water to the high spot. I don't think the pros get it that close.
You are right 1/8” or even 1/4” probably won’t matter too much.
You're g right, mine has some 1" off in some spots. And several columns just hanging.
I couldn't remove the bubbles to save my life
I wonder why, it was very easy for me, what’s different, size of the hose or viscosity of the liquid? Air bubbles climb right out of the hose as I lift it.
😂el cheapo
It’s not only cheap, it’s the best and most accurate way to do it.
When you dropped and spilled kool-aid after 1st post, all your other measurements were off. No need to watch anymore of this..😅
My measurements were not off
The man Daniel doesn't have an understanding of the system.
If any liquid spilled out of the hose, you are correct. It would throw all measurements off. I didn’t see any spill though.
Do you think that they do this kind of job are worried about an 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch off ?? I don’t think so! Personally
