    the editing is insane. nice vid. That guitar may be a '79 but it's a early 60's replica. They also made 50's replicas.

    Lawsuit era guitars are just amazing. I have a 1970s Fernandes Burny Bass and it plays like dreams. Though, it's a bit heavy the sound it produce is on par with high end Fenders.

    mmm i own a 84 tokai goldstar strat,basically sounds and plays like a very good fender,more so than many fenders ive owned.lets not forget that tokai were offered the fender japan contract first,turned it down,as tokai were doing fine on their own at the time.contract ended up going to fujigen ,another excellent japanese factory,fujigen before made greco,so many of the first fender japan guitars are simply rebadged grecos.i also own a tokai breezysound tele from 2010,which is also very good,one of the best strats i own is a early 90s made in japan levinson blade texas standard,which has the fender style headstock,end of 90s blade production moved to korea,new fugly headstock,quality drop ,became more production line,but the earlier made in japan blades with fender style headstock,were mostly handmade in the deviser factory,who also make bacchus/momose guitars,i also have a crafted in japan fender aerodyne strat/no pickguard version from 96,that is also a very good guitar

    It shure sounds very nice. Those late 70s Tokais sometimes can sound almost bell-like and definetly verry twangy on the bridge PU.
    Would be nice to know what pickups are built into this one. It looks like a ST-60, but with a Tokai you never really know whats inside.
    I really like your content. Keep up the great work!

      The pickups for the spaghetti-logo lawsuit Tokais were custom wound by DiMarzio.

      Really? It sounds far too mid-heavy and warm for my liking. The output is so loud and the quacky thing is too bright and glassy. It doesn't have the organic sound to it like real strats and some other Japanese copies have. I don't like how too many frequencies are scooped

      Yes. It definitely has a twang that I think the modern ones still try to achieve!

      So what?Are you interested in the quality of the instrument or the inscription on the head?Modern fenders are terrible, like most famous brands, especially their modern amplifiers, old Japanese guitars are sometimes better than Americans of the same time

      @max7even284 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's made in JAPAN. Obviously, it would be better than the American product.

      First off, it's a replica (or "hommage" as they say in the time piece world) guitar, not a lookailke copy and even a "real" Strat is a replica guitar. Really. After the takeover from CBS they allegedly couldn't even fully copy their own vintage headstock anymore for a while. Different people in a different factory produce copies of old Fullerton Fenders in very different ways. Zero difference to other people doing the same in Japan, apart from the country, the much higher QC standards and the much higher demands of the domestic buyers in Japan, leading to more improvement efforts and better consistency than Fender could muster in 70 years.

    Sorry but that's quite a trainwreck of skim-reading the internet in lieu of research, a load of crossed wires presented in a style that reminds me of a kindergarten teacher telling a story.
