- Hello everyone here a a quick video on the Drive shaft Maintenance. (Propeller Shaft)I’m using Mobile Grease XHP222. Toyota Manual does list two different grease, NLGI number 2 or Lithium Base grease. But the Lithium Base Grease can be used for both the slip yoke and the spider connections. These connections as I call them in the video are knows as zerks. (I just found this out) There are total of six zerk fittings, 3 on front shaft and 3 on rear shaft (2 spider and 1 yoke on each shaft).
As per Toyota they recommend do it every 15k with normal driving. Every 5K if you go off Roading, towing or drive and dusty conditions.

I do not get any money from these links, I purchased everything with my own money.

Thank you. I like the 10k mile idea. I have some time before I reach it so I can get all the stuff.
You can do it! Just do 2 pumps for the Yoke ….
How many fittings total?
6 total, 4 Spiders and 2 yokes …..
For the spider, squeeze until it comes out..
For the Yokes only 2 pumps
Under-carriage looks pretty nice...new to your channel, do you fluid film or woolwax your underside?
Last year I had it done professionally. I will be posting a video soon how I did it myself for this year. It was woolwax, and this year I used wool wax. My next video is on that…. Now I know why they change so much… it’s a lot of work … haha
@@RobbyMozzy Perfect.... just bought a new 2024 SR5 and a 6pack of Fluid Film...planning on DIY once I have the time to crawl under and shower myself in lanolin..
Yea I got a 12 pack thinking I would only use 6-8 cans …. And I think I over did it because I used all 12 … lol…. Theres a lot of spots that are hard to reach … I hope you got the 360 extension hose…. It helps in tight places… also hit the top of the frame and inside of any metal areas that there are holes and inside the frame … take down your spare tire.…try not to spray anybody of electrical connection’s good luck ….
Also, once you apply fluid film or woolwax do not wash the undercarriage. Especially for the first week or 2
@@RobbyMozzy Awesome advice and great channel...looking forward to your content and thanks for being super-responsive!
Why do you need to do this?
To prevent drying out, corrosion, dust, dirt, prevent friction and just prolong the lifespan. By applying the grease it will flush out the contaminants
