- With the 183rd having closed down, I have been in search of a new unit. I'm happy to say that I have found a new home with the 43rd Marine Expeditionary Unit. You may hear some familiar voices in here as some of the 183rd has joined this group and you'll notice in some cases its like we never split up. I'm excited to be in this group and where this is going to take me. Not to mention, it will be cool to be in a unit based around the marines.
Our mission is to eliminate hostiles located around an oil refinery. We think they may have taken hostages so that will make things a little more difficult. My M249 and the rest of the 43rd are on it in what will be a great first mission for me being in a USMC unit.

Just a nitpick, that "medic" should be called a Corpsman since the Marines use Navy Corpsmen.
Not a nitpick at all. In fact, good catch. After doing only army milsiming before this, it took me awhile to stop saying medic.

On your rewards perks for your "join" community options you should include rank chevrons from Example 1st month the patron can be a recruit 2nd a private 3rd a corporal 4 a Sgt 5th a Staff. Sgt 6th a Major just a thought for your rewards button since you have it great video!
Excellent crew, I could never be this serious sadly playing with friends that you know irl is to hard for me. The Milsim would end up us crashing vehicles into one another but I still enjoy it which makes it fun

Awesome video! Reminds me of my days with the 15th MEU on Arma 3. Just a friendly reminder, Marines have Corpsman's as "Medics" they are Sailors in the Navy assigned to a Marine Unit or squad to perform any medical procedures on the field. They are called "Doc" or "Corpsman" they will flip when u call them Medics in real life lol love the vid tho!
Thanks man! I had just gotten out of an army unit when I recorded this so it was just instinct. I did it a lot in the unit out of old habit.

Are any of you guys in the military? I watched your formations and uhh yea they need work.
Most of us are not. There are a few that are/were in the armed forces. Arma can be difficult at times to maintain formations though
War Is Hell I don’t blame you, but your video looked pretty good which is why I asked. I’m new to ARMA 3 but I am currently in the 4th Marines LAR as a 0311 or a IAR infantry automatic rifleman

William Falls m27 all the way its easier to clean and far better in functionality
Not to mention it’s more adaptable to be a hybrid of a rifle and a mg. With a free floating barrel system allows accurate shots up to 800 yards easily and with full auto for CQB

You should have had snipers in the mountains to give the groups that were exposed support.
MEU is a special forces raid unit. Not a whole lot of use for snipers because its usually tight combat

Milsim unit. Uses 3rd person view...
I mean, there's really nothing wrong with third person view. It doesn't give you really any more advantage, in fact it may even give you a disadvantage. Plus, for those who stream or record, it gives a better view and better simulation for the viewers.
I respectfully disagree: third-person view gives you a huge advantage as you can easily see beyond obstacles when you actually shouldn't be able to. Even in this video, you can spot enemies inside the building and beyond walls due to the third person. It is true that the first-person view is actually narrower than it would be in real life (it gives you no peripheral vision), but it still more realistic than third-person.
I say this not to criticize who decides to use the third-person view, after all a game is a game and you adjust the realism to what you like.

I don't disagree with you, however. With AI having the ability to see through foliage, in some cases walls and 720 jump, drop shot no scope head shot you, 3rd person sort of balances out the difficulty of dealing with any situation. Even if you spot the bad guy first, he's still got his 720 no scope laser shot power.
Although, sometimes I do wish milsim units would lock the view to first person, sometimes.
Yes, I see your point. It's a matter of preference... the third person doesn't give me a "realistic" feeling (I know it's just a game and real warfare is nothing funny).

I am thinking about arma 3 but I don't have a good mic and I am unsure about controls in Arma
Controls can be a little tricky but the game has a good tutorial and they go through quite a bit of things in the units training. Don't worry :)
Thats right. Any good unit will teach you what you need to know. Besides, every unit will do things differently
