    When I saw this in my search results, I was expecting to see someone just writing. But no, this great lady actually explains, in perfect detail, each and every aspect of how to do this art. I was captivated instantly and blown away by the details presented. This is by far and beyond the best introduction to copperplate calligraphy.

      Came back to Maria as clearly, these Instructions THE Best! Now that my Brain can't absorb one more thing, about to make my very FIRST Stroke try! (No idea why I'm so nervous! lol.)

      @@user-pt8ol9iv1b To avoid a disappointing start PLEASE watch a TH-cam video on "prepping your nib". There are a number of ways people swear by a) running the nib through a flame for a couple of seconds b) sticking the tip into a potato (not joking) and c) dishwashing liquid. I personally wash mine in dishwashing liquid very carefully with an old toothbrush. But whichever works for you :)

      I would recommend this one from Sarah Script:

      Hi!
      Thanks for watching my video.
      The paper I’m using is an Australian brand called Arttec Layout Pad. If you can’t find it, you can also purchase Canson Marker or Canson Bleedproof paper 70gsm.

    My nikko g nib cannot get a thin hair line. I already tried to have light pressure as possible. But still the line so thick. Why is that? 😭

    I think useful for beginners know how to deal with the nib scratching the paper while stroking on high. Any suggestions?

      Is it like the nib is getting caught on the tooth of the paper?

    • @sairachoudhry1844
      @sairachoudhry1844 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because if that is the problem; use a smoother paper, that is still thick enough to not let ink bleed through/bleed proof paper.

    • @iamariamontes
      @iamariamontes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In addition to what Saira said, release pressure on your upstrokes and make sure your nib is in the correct position.
