I just bought my first bmw automatic transmission and this was exactly what I was looking for since I never handled an automatic bmw. It was really helpfull and don’t listen to the haters here. It was a good demonstration
Some corrections: 1. You don't need to press the Unlock button when engaging either Neutral or Drive from Reverse 2. The Unlock button needs to be used when moving out of Park or engaging Reverse 3. You can engage Drive from Reverse by 1 long movement downwards, instead of 2 short clicks. The same applies to engaging R from D, with unlock button depressed
So when you have been driving or doing a 3 point turn you don’t need to press unlock at all ? Your in drive , to go backwards just put forward into R without and unlock ? And same when going back into D from R just push forward with no unlock ?
James Stewart Ditto, I was phased by do I have to put the electric handbrake on as well as park mode.In a manual you shove it in neutral and apply the hand break job done
I found it useful! It's not identical to the one I've just got, but similar enough to be helpful . My only remaining question, and apologies for being a bit thick, but I've driven manual transmission for >25 years.. Do you have to apply the brake prior to changing gear selection, or just initially, and then use the side button ?🤔
You need the foot on the brake to select drive or reverse (in auto or manual mode). Def not to manually change gear. It's a safety feature to stop someone putting the car into gear without being in the driver's seat.
Glenn Salisbury You will hear a 'gong' and a message that it's not possiblr. P is electronically disabled when the car is in motion and the brake pedal is not depressed.

Rockey Pandit When you push the gear selector into m/s, you get sports mode on "transmission". The button you are talking about is used to change the suspension.

If you want to go from drive mode to the reverse mode, you go directly..you don.t need to go neutral first and stop..and next revers... And from reverse to drive..the same..go with one push directly....you need to learn your car before making a tutorial ..how it.s work. 😆🤣🤣😂🤣

The only cool feature is the last safety feature. You can skip the first 3 mins if you know how to drive.
