They do more power, they have VHF 136 to 174 receiver, FM only. Better transmit SSB linearity- (after alignment) third order intercept over the lower powered V2. In America it gives you the NOAA weather frequencies also. For someone driving for a living that can be important because you may not be in an area where AM/FM radio or your cell phone would get emergency weather alert warnings but the radio would. Keeping in mind that you had the feature engaged on the radio at that time.
