That radio came out nice. I don't mine some AM swing as long as it sounds good and the power is on the channel I want to use. When it starts to sound distorted or outside of bandwidth it is just wasted power and you gain nothing. I like how Scott's Radios set up the am . some like that little kick on AM and it can help with weak signal . But I hear many on the air that over do it and they hard to understand and I hear them more than 1 ch away . I like how the AM is set on QT 60 long. I get good audio reports all the time. same with SSB and FM. We got heavy lake effect snow warning in NY like 1 to 3 ft and strong wind and severe cold warring. Going to be a artic blast ! . This will be interesting what it does to the bands . I can say it cuts my UHF range with heavy snowfall . With our FRS radios we get like half the range. The 5W GMRS not as bad. The 2 watt VHF MURS does ok . I can say them filters do help with RX noise and harmonics off KL 203P amp. I have 10 and 20 meter bandpass filters . I can work both bands FT8 on 2 antenna's like 40-50 ft apart at same time. If I had a diplexer and multi band antenna . I can work 2 bands at once from same antenna. Theirs triplexers and pentiplexers as well. working several bands at once on same antenna ! I always run my amps with at least a low pass filter. They work good . That 25 MHZ band is 11 meter radio astromancy band. 25.000 is WWV time station . Ft Collins CO, They give time and solar data . It is directly linked to atomic clock. A lot of that odd noise on the 25 mhz part is space noise like out sun and even Jupiter and outher stuff. They found a radio signal coming from alpha centauri star system. May be natural or ET . Can't prove either way at this time. Lots of radio listing for ET ! another fun part of radio . Space is full of radio ! 73

Just the fact that you offered the dead radio to someone rather than throw it out says a lot about you sir. You gained my respect for sure. I do the same with both radios and car parts. I hate wasting anything someone else can use.

Really nice looking display, love how all the lettering lights up, easy to see in the dark, I do like that other with blue numbers, goes good with the black knobs , face plate and bezel.

I run a xiegu g90 at 25 watts. I work the world with 25 lol. 50 watts is fine. I’d like one of these and will get it from you soon. Maybe a qt60 too 😎

I like the display on them. The skip about the same hear. Same mess on CB 38 . The skip been strong lately ! I even decoded 10 and 12 meter FT8 on a dummy load. It's up to 40F in NY now and NOAA radio beeping. winter storm watch . Crazy winter ! I did work POTA from a county park. Hunting ! That can be fun to. I did call Anytones on the air. Just about a hour of cold fun. Girlfriend wants to try echo on CB . Just was too cold . We did make hot coffee in car from battery in back seat floor. We got RV/TRUCK maker. Was like 15F with wind . and snow. Still had fun ! Next project may be a audio splitter . either 2 headsets or headset and speaker . Girlfriend wanted to hear so I switched from my heil headset to stock mic. Bitter cold coming again for us. 73 from NY!

Reminds me of the CRE-8900 I used to have. I drilled a hole directly in front of the mic element on the hand mic housing to get clearer audio.

Radio works great ! I still love my long QT 60. Nice and stable. No drifting in the cold. The NRC works nice even for snow static . finally warmed up a bit in NY . was so cold so long . But more sub zero on the way ! That person on 38 SSB is strong in NY . I have to go up or down . to use CB. I made a duel PTT switch using 2 optocouplers Some resistors and a led to key my QT 60 long and my KL 506 amp at same time. I am using a Heil Pro 6 micro headset . With either a foot switch or hand trigger . The KL 506 amp is AB bias 4-SD 1446 with PTT jack in back. 1.8 to 30 MHZ . easy does 300 PEP at 33 amps . I run 150 PEP . 100 watt FM is ok as long as not on the key long. With the way my qt 60 is set on AM. everything all way down I get like 200 PEP AM watts. Amp stayed cool . If I wanted 300 watt amp I would buy 600 watt amp. That is how I run and always a low pass filter. takes my weather away. But have a HT for weather alerts. RM Italy makes a great low pass filter. I have both of the ones they make. Also the MFJ one . I like your RF samplear ! I just just a bird 43 line section with 40DB slug to BNC inline with dummy load . works great ! Arizona got SNOW and cold to. I was just talking their on CB from NY. Even Las Vegas got snow. I made contact near area 51 . Their is a RV park in the area . 73 from NY

Nice ! I finally got out 1 day to play radio on QT 60 with RM KL 506 . with 100 AH LiFePO4 on back floor of car . I use cross needle wattmeter . that has 12V power for light and PEP function. I ran 150 watt PEP , The bands were great around noon . I got all over west coast . Lots of cold weather south west . Fires in LA area . 10/11 meters even 10 meter AM and lots of repeaters on 10. Was hard with more than 1 coming in at 1 time. I did not try 12 meters ,weather was bad and I re tune antenna only once. Was 15F and windy with snow ! I did get my first snow static on QT 60 and the NRC worked great ! That high pitch noise went way down. I had my RF gain down as well. Only a county park. T2LT antenna on 10 meter DX commander pole in a snowbank. Just a hour of radio fun while me and girlfriend ate lunch. I did warm up the amp a tad. Hand warmer . I get noise from car . so I had it off. The polar vortex making it real cold and windy ! 73

You must be doing something right... the scammer in New Mexico is bad mouthing you on his FB page. His YT channel was shutdown. Haha Keep up good work. I bought a radio from a guy that had you set the radio up. I get plenty of compliments with it.

Nice they just replaced radio with newer one. I love the receiver on the QT 80 style radios. The NRC filters are great .Most of the time I do not need RF gain all the way up. I adjust according to my noise floor . And filter levels according to noise at the time.With some practice you can make great contacts in some what noise conditions . I got just a T2LT 8X antenna on a DX commander pole leaning in a tree. Working great DX . And I put 500 PEP watts threw it. using AL 572 tube amp. I can get almost full power 1.3KW with the QT60 . about 1KW . But antenna is rated 500 PEP . I checked it with thermal imaging . The coil heats up a little . I ran FT8 but 300-400 watt level. better for the amp with the warm air blowing out. I like to keep my grid current down. Maybe later I try ECHO on 11 meters . I have to re tune antenna a tad. I have a fold back at end . But NOAA has alert for me 1.5 FT snow. Depending on wind ,I may melt some snow. My order from Ukraine will be here later today. Still waiting on CA order. Nixie tubes are still made in Ukraine . I got a clock for a HAM friend. It will be set 24 HR UTC . Videos' on youtube about this clock ! 73

Sad that was damaged in shipping. It takes some time to get to Ireland from US. The UK FM offset is a odd band. Only one like that . I worked Ireland on CB and 10/12 meters often in solar Max . I got real Irish Cream in my coffee from Ireland. So much better than walmart stoff. I get stuff from all over the world. never had damage package. Only from USPS from inside US . I just jot bunch of stuff from Italy and the UK . And it came faster than stuff from west coast of the US. Bad weather and fires slowing things down. Normally takes 5 0r 6 days . and now over 11 days .I just talked skip to CA and around LA is bad. The smoke is crazy . We had that 2 summers ago in NY from Canada ! Getting ready for 1.5 FT snow . NOAA radio going off. 73 hope the radio makes it ok. Fun radio to use !!

I set my fans to come on at 43 degrees Celsius (110 degrees Fahrenheit). I thought since there are fans why let it heat up all the way to 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit).

#2👍 Actually, we had three channels on VHF and perhaps another six on UHF. The world was in Black & White. The tubes had to warm up and you could test and change your own tubes. And, manufacturers actually supported repair shops 😎.

My friends and I have been passing our stereo stuff back and forth for over 40 years. Just a few months ago one of my old friends "gave me" a mint 9090db and four mint Altec Santana's along with a 6 pack of homebrew and I "gave him" a SX-1250 with a pair of L-100's along with two bottles of homemade wine.....PS, I think the Sansui and Altec's sound way better that or I've drank to many of these homebrews ..... jmo
