Great story!! Thank you Spa Guy. As for the guard, Elvis wouldn't tolerate anyone treating his fans like that. Imagine the impression those tourists were left with. Sad.

Great video. My mom met Elvis at the fairgrounds in the 50s and then at the movie theater in the early 60s. She said he was very nice and so handsome. We lived in Phoenix in 1976 or 1977, and we were supposed to see Elvis in concert, but my dad had to work. He never played Phoenix again and sadly passed away. My dad regretted not going, but how could anyone know what was going to happen?

That had to have been so cool to met Elvis ❤
I Quick question.....in that book "Elvis & the Colonel" Greg mentions that Colonel made a 90 minute documentary after Elvis died called, "Always Elvis". I've tried to find it, but haven't had any luck. Do you or anyone have any idea if it is available to watch?

That dude shooing away the white car is nothing like VESTER PRESLEY was - I met Vester right there at the gate - on August 16 1976 - exactly one year to the day that Elvis passed away !

Spa Guy, Ted Young saw Elvis in 73.My son was born in 73. He and his friend took alot of pictures 📸 of Graceland. They were lucky that they didn't get arrested but Elvis loved his fans. This was a beautiful story from 73. Time has really gone by so fast, I am 71. I hope to see Graceland before I die. Spy Guy thanks for this video showing Graceland. ❤🎉😊

I wish I would have found your channel before going so I could respect the man more. My mind was officially blown when I went. I've learned a lot more since subscribing to the Spa Guy.

One of my favorite videos from your back catalog. Love those backyard photos, seeing the real Graceland. And Ted has a great story to go along with it. It’s poignant that not only did Elvis hold onto the pink Cadillac, but he parked it in a prime spot… as if it was waiting for Gladys to walk out the door at any minute and go for a ride (even if she didn’t drive).

Thanks Spa guy! Love My Man Elvis. Going to stay at his place this Aug. the first week of August and not go for Elvis week since it’s so busy. It’s like you slip in to the ol’days when we go. Brings back memories as a kid. So wish they’d open up to wonder the fields and pet the horses. We do plan on going around the neighborhood to see Vernon’s house too. We’ll have a few days to explore the area also. Plan on hanging out with Elvis the first week of August for me B-Day!! Peace n luv!!

How awesome is that! Thinking you going to jail and instead you get to meet Elvis!!
Also, we see how kind and mannered was Elvis with his Fans!
Absolutely nothing like that person chasing those Fans from France looking to buy tickets being very confused
I believe that some Human Relation Classes were needed for the employees.
Great video with an interesting story.

The last time I was there across the street from the gates was a small building I think it was the ticket lobby and to the left of that was a strip mark that had the car museum and maybe two food places one was a 50s looking place can’t remember the other. If I walked right the planes were still there but the hotel I stayed at was just past it I think it was called Wilson world. Man that looks so different now in your video

Yes they still have it.. The only other car from that time period is the Continental Mark II from 1956 and it was sold in 1976.. There is also an old panel van work truck Elvis would occasionally use to get out of the house and they still have it..

Why would someone write on that plexiglass?! People are just so uncaring, irresponsible, rude and they just don't care to deface a landmark. I just don't understand. That is an incredible story. It's great to have the pictures of activity while Elvis was still alive. Oh my gosh! Elvis came out and talked to them. What a nice guy he was. The ticket thing is a little tricky. I bought mine on line since I was flying from NC last year. Yes, a sign would help then there wouldn't be a cluster at the Graceland Gate. Out of film. lol Sounds like something that would happen to me. Thanks so much for bringing your friend.
