My mother was good at number 10. Whenever she was on the attack by saying something insulting she’d do this “sniffle” while clearing her throat. That’s how I’d know she was intentionally being mean.

Thank you for sharing your personal story! It’s difficult to notice such subtle yet controlling behaviors, especially when they come from a loved one. The important thing is that you’ve recognized and understood the motives behind those actions. I hope you continue to stay strong and find ways to protect yourself from negative influences. Wishing you peace and resilience!

Been through this. Broke up with them due to this as I saw no foreseeable future I wanted to have going through this.

Thank you for sharing! Indeed, the silent treatment from narcissists can be a very powerful way to manipulate and control others. However, recognizing this and walking away from the relationship is an incredibly important decision to protect your peace and mental well-being. You deserve a better future, free from this manipulation. Wishing you strength as you continue your journey towards freedom and happiness!

Maybe you’re not going through a silent treatment or even a punishment.. Feelings aren’t facts. Maybe someone is just done with you because communication didn’t work out. It’s not always about you, you know. And this exaggerated victimhood you’re presenting is a very common feature of narcissistic grandiosity. Accountability and responsibility are key.

Thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s true that emotions can sometimes make us think everything revolves around us, but we must also recognize that some people may simply no longer want to maintain the relationship due to ineffective communication. However, for narcissists, silence is often a tactic used to manipulate and control others. It’s important that we learn to recognize and protect ourselves from these psychological games. Accountability and responsibility are key factors in maintaining mental well-being!

You probably feel convicted because you do this to people.

Or maybe you just found a new supply and went immediate “discard”?
