The hill I'll die on is that fall is the best season. And the reason I think that is because it's the ONE season I'm not in agony because my body hates me. I'm a biased bitch. I got bad seasonal allergies in the spring. I overheat really fast in the summer and my eczema gets worse because sweat. Winter makes my skin so fucking dry and makes my eczema worse, I have to put on lotion CONSTANTLY or shrivel up and die. But in fall? The leaves look cool, I don't die from eczema, it's good weather for hoodies and I can wear a T-shirt and shorts comfortably if I want.
As a guy who wears shorts in winter, I feel like I need to defend my people. We do not wear shorts to prove our superiority. We wear them because the heat in indoor spaces is cranked to scorching levels in winter. The brief time I'm outside in the chilly air is survivable and also can be refreshing before entering a building with the heat and humidity levels of a greenhouse.
Opinions are opinions, and I do think it comes down to what you're comfortable in. You say you want to wear as little as possible. I want to wear as much as possible. Not being able to cool down without sweating makes me feel gross. Being exposed to others to see makes me feel disgusting. I want to be covered up and cozy. My hotter take: the sun is always too much. It hurts my eyes and burns my skin. Overcast is always better than sunshine, and ~15C is the perfect temperature.
the sun shining on my head actually gives me physical pain in my forehead?? ive looked it up & apparently some peoples capillaries expand a lot & cause the pain ... i used to joke about being a vampiric goth freak but i think i mightve manifested my own reality lmao
I just moved from Colorado to Florida and the shock was unreal. Going from cold and snowy winter to the heat hellscape that is the FL swamp was rough. At this point I've acclimated fairly well, not as bad as I was thinking. BUT The heat prevents wearing layers. I used to wear flannels with shirts on either on or under them. That is never happening down here 😭 and jeans? Never. (Also as a trans masc person, I haven't been able to wear a binder since moving so that sucks ass) I understand your reasons more than I woulda 3 months ago lmao
As a fat person you really, really don't want me to strip all the way off to survive in the heat that you propose! And the reason cool-weather people say it is, yes, just like vegans, because we're the exception to the norm! Being pro warm weather is the easy choice, made by babies and other people who are easily swayed by bright colours, someone who will pick eating cotton candy (candy floss) over drinking coffee, and drinking orange soda over ales because coffee and beer are bitter! (Have I made this obvious enough that I'm matching your tone and this comment is as serious as your video?)
Yes! Warm weather gang 🤝 now the question: dry or humid heat? I don’t like the extremes of either but I’m one of those weirdos who prefers things being a little humid vs a little dry.

I only ever lived in humid heat, so i cant say much about dry heat But i prefer humidity, than not feeling my fingers
i cant agree to this as my antidepressants & adhd meds are making me spontaneously throw up & get migraines due to the ridiculous amount of heat sensitivity that they give me. 😭
Agreed. My main reason is when ur super cold ur tense and uncomfortable. When ur hot ur uncomfortable but ur not tense. Also I live in oregon so i have seasonal depression about 9 months a year.
Checking in here, I just saw the 7-day forecast for San Francisco, where it will just barely exceed 70F. Meanwhile, here in NC, you could literally die from heat stroke outside today.
☀️ 92F here today, and pretty much every day until late September/early October. It gets old. On days where the humidity far exceeds 50%, and your sweat stops evaporating, so you’re just a wet, salty, boiled mess the entire day-those are especially fun, and you can technically die from heat stroke _even if you are in shade and not exerting yourself_ simply because your body’s natural cooling systems no longer function.
It’s June 30, 2024 here in Charlotte…I’ve included the hot weather advisory below, but to provide just a bit more context, it’s not even the hottest day in the current forecast, and the _coolest day predicted in the next week_ is *just 1F lower* than today. HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING * WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected. * WHERE...Portions of northeast Georgia, piedmont North Carolina, and upstate South Carolina. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Recommended actions: - Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. *Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.* - Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. -- Hope this is helping you to better appreciate the San Francisco forecast that indicates you won’t get above 77F this week.
I admit my relationship with the weather is borderline obsessive. But not for nothing, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when I was 18yo, and one of my myriad symptoms manifests when I get too hot: I very quickly become clinically fatigued. Simply doing my job-which isn’t like a roofer or in landscaping or anything; I’m an IT consultant-becomes exponentially more exhausting in the summer just because of the ambient outdoor conditions, and the relatively short periods where I have to be exposed to them. If the air conditioning in my car breaks, it’s a very serious health risk for me. I hope to move some place less extreme someday soon, but all of the usual challenges make such a relocation very difficult, and insanely risky. Every time I see someone make the flawed argument that people who live in areas prone to flooding, fire, or natural disasters should “just move” I am struck by how charmed their life must be to adopt such a narrow-minded opinion.
I say this as someone with literal albinism born and raised on the florida coast: you are more right than anyone has ever been or could ever be. thank you for speaking the truth, though the unenlightened will reject it. 😔🙏
Dude, I am a "Never summer" girl. I would ski year round if I could. Nobody will EVER convince me that Summer is the best. However, I don't preach one over the other. I just enjoy snow sports and cold weather.
thank you for speaking the truth ur so brave 🙏 the layers argument has always annoyed me so much bc no i do not get to just keep putting more shit on! my circulation is trash!!! my toes will still feel cold under however many wool socks i manage to shove into a shoe! seasonal depression and narcolepsy means there is a chance i'll just straight up not function in colder weather bc i'll either be too sad or too sleepy to get out of bed for long enough to do anything, no amount of cozy hot chocolate or fondue can change that even exercise is a pain in the cold, my muscles feel frozen and when i finally have warmed up enough to sweat, the cold air hitting my skin when im sweating is one of the worst feelings to have to deal with. while if its hot im like eh i'll be sweating either way might as well give it my all people also always talk about how winter fashion is sooo elegant but fuck you maybe **i** want to have my lower asscheeks out, as a gift to the world, God did not make me this hot for me to have to wear multiple layers and look like the michelin man
You really have no idea how many people died last year because of heatstrokes, and it's only getting worse, people don't easily die from the cold unless it's arctic freezing, in Mediterranean countries cold weather has never been a disastrous weather situation that kills people, the heat we are getting is not survivable, the cold is a lot easier to withstand, fish are being boiled alive while IN THE OCEAN and being washed ashore, even pets, inside the home, with the ac on die because of this heat. Idk where you live but it's cold weather where i am is perfectly safe and people don't die en masse from it.
Wow you just went out and shouted about being violently wrong for that whole time huh 😂 I’m kidding, even though you are factually wrong, this ranting lunacy was a lot of fun to watch
yes, but have you considered that being perceived is my personal nightmare, and that the more of my body that is perceived, the worse it gets? Also I'm a fat@ss, I promise you'd rather see me as an indistinct marshmallow man lol
Thank you for speaking up🙏🙏🙏 -a girl who gets cold under 73° but never ‘feels’ hot Like if it’s hot, you can get used to it. If it’s cold, YOU DIE. YOU LITERALLY LOSE FUNCTION..
Jokes on you, snow makes the sun hit you from below too, like its a ricochet trickshot doming you with UV. Plus the further north you are the lower the angle of the sun in the winter, increasing the chances of being blinded by the sun

The older I get, the less terrible the heat feels and the more terrible the cold feels.
I massively prefer warm weather and also like wearing layers (always need full length trousers and prefer long sleeves). People come.to.my place and describe it as a 'sauna'. Winter fans simply don't understand what my deal is and thats ok but man I simply wish to always have warmth
I've spent a lot of time in Stockton. It is not lush and green by late June. It's the brown season. Also, N. Cal has the wimpiest thunderstorms in the country.
As an Irish person I'm appalled anyone could even CONSIDER warm weather being worse. Cold weather is fucking miserable. Literally. The affect of that weather on your mood and mental health is honestly horrifying 😅 we're in the middle of the most underwhelming summer I can remember and everyone is actually feeling depression The sun is fuuuuuuuuuuuun and energising and tanning and socialising and exploring and colour and smells and a good time to connect with water and just brings you to life Although I will add that for indoor temperature, cooler is better. The whole "you can add another layer but you can't remove another layer" completely applies inside
I just recommended your channel to my partner and I came back to this video and I... think you did a really good job engagement farming here. Every point you made has *a* point but also a very good counterpoint. Even just writing this, I want to tell you about how humans are actually cold adapted from an evolutionary standpoint and so on and so forth. It plays well to the person who wants to say 'no, but actually!' in a sharing, rather than argumentative verb. In general, cheers. You did a great job on this video but I would personally prefer if you didn't swing too hard in this direction because I want to give positive comments.
I wrote a poem last winter actually.... Oh winter comes to steal the sun Thus long cold nights have now begun But Christmas comes and oh what fun! Though what is left when Christmas done? But cold and snow and life left none Nay joyous time is overrun When winter comes to steal the sun
Harland is from cali right? This is the most cali take ever either way. Like this is what you fools dont understand. You get use to the cold!!!! It gets less cold!!!!! When you're active your body gets very hot!!!!! I snowboard in 20° weather in a hoodie not cuz im a loon but because im riding a rope tow all day and i wear anything more than that i sweat like crazy. I ride in 20° in a hoodie and base layers because otherwise ill sweat like crazy. None of that stuff is expensive or uncomfortable, its just not what people realize they need
Actually, I was born in Washington and grew up there and travelled back and forth throughout my life. This would have strengthened my CORRECT opinion. I'm new to Aristotelian argumentation.
Extremes aside, warm weather makes several chronic diseases worse (POTS, ME/CFS, etc) leading to increased pain, hot flashes, brain fog/confusion, & exhaustion (potentially fainting) that keeps many people with these conditions house-bound during the summer months. I know this from experience :/ Therefore, if you disagree with me then you must hate people with chronic illnesses! Sick & twisted!!!! Mr. Harland "Incorrect Opinions" Spinks CANCELLED!!? Negatives of Winter:

-The combination of the last 2 makes commuting a nightmare
-Freezing pipes
-Going outside is less appealing and takes way more preparation
-Lack of sunlight is unhealthy

-Everything is muddy when the snow melts
-Everything smells musty
Negatives of Summer:

This is the REAL conversation we need to have
In the winter when the sun goes down: guess I'll kill myself
In the summer when the sun goes down: ah life is a gift, I'll live forever

just watched 14 minutes of a man being wrong 😔
That's like, you're opinion, man.
Same here. I'll take throwing on a hoodie and laying a blanket on my lap over constantly having to peel my sack from my thigh.
@@DrunkenDweorg In my experience, sack peeling is not a seasonal issue.
I put out so much body heat when I work that I stay dry in the rain from it evaporating off of me. I can't stand it being more than 60 degrees.
Harland hittin' em with the anti-Brennan Lee Mulligan. "Get outta the comments!" 😂
Excellent 👌

Speak the truth from the hilltops. Winter is ass.
Id be happy with a nice 18-23c (64-73f) with a bit of a warm breeze now and again, with it nice and sunny. That's my "perfect" scenario lol
Dude, I am a "Never summer" girl. I would ski year round if I could. Nobody will EVER convince me that Summer is the best. However, I don't preach one over the other. I just enjoy snow sports and cold weather.

people also always talk about how winter fashion is sooo elegant but fuck you maybe **i** want to have my lower asscheeks out, as a gift to the world, God did not make me this hot for me to have to wear multiple layers and look like the michelin man
I live in Maine and the only time I wear long pants and boots is when there is fresh snow on the ground. Yes even in negative temps.
as a person from wisconsin, i can 100% confirm this take. summer may be ridiculously hot sometimes, but the hell of winter is much darker and longer.
I'm pale and hate wearing hats. My country has a screwed ozone layer, so it takes about 7 minutes of sunlight here to start getting BURNT
I will agree with this video depending on the time of year

This is when you change my mind Mr Spinks, this is when you win
finally someone is speaking straight facts.
thank you for your brave decision to be right
