Thank you for your wonderful educational channel mrs Kathleen. As I told before iam Arabic lady subscriber to several British and American TH-cam channels since Christmas 2019 . Honestly I studied English both language and literature till second year and , left college it’s will of god not mine . In English language we studied curriculum little bit difficult phonetic or phonology. The consonant letters and vowel letters have special symbols we must memorize for phonetic transcription in lab . I learned from English Channels punctuation marks as full stop and comma you teach kids since kindergarten. We studied English little bit late at middle school, but more than decade they started to teach English since kindergarten. I read phonemes are sounds , phonemic awareness is defined as ability to hear , identify, move , change sound in spoken words . Phonemic awareness has strongest effect on word reading skills when combined with teaching children about letters which represent phonemes. Without strong phonemic awareness students may struggle with decoding words and building fluency, which ultimately hinders comprehension. There are phonemic awareness skills for reading for students in following several ways recognizing which words set begin with same sound . Isolating and saying first or last sound in word . Combing or blending separate sounds to say word . Breaking or segmenting word in separate sounds . Thank you for giving us chance to read learn new information. Best wishes for you your dearest ones .

Hi there. Unfortunately, we do not have test preparation for that exam. We focus on the praxis exams. There are many similarities among teacher certification exams regardless of state. However, our materials are aligned with the ETS exam blueprints and test specifications for the Praxis exams.

Hi there. Here are some sources supporting the importance of phonemic awareness
      National Reading Panel Report (2000)
This landmark study identified the "Fab Five" of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The report highlights the importance of phonemic awareness as the foundational skill for effective reading instruction.
      Adams, Marilyn Jager (1990)
Beginning to Read: Thinking and Learning about Print.
Adams emphasizes the importance of phonemic awareness as a predictor of reading success and explains its role in setting students up for phonics instruction.
      Ehri, Linnea C., Nunes, Simone R., Stahl, Steven A., & Willows, Dale M. (2001)
Systematic Phonics Instruction Helps Students Learn to Read: Evidence from the National Reading Panel’s Meta-Analysis.
This study found that systematic phonics instruction significantly improves reading and spelling skills, with phonemic awareness being a critical precursor.
      Hope this helps.

Hello, I listen to your You Tube channel every morning on my way to work. I said that I need to sit down and listen to it as well. I am doing that now. I have to take the Praxis Core Exam (all subject areas in Education). I am in Charlotte NC. Do you have a book that I can study for my test? Thank you

No it has not changed. Some states are using a new test-the 7002, which is the Teaching Reading. The 5205 has not changed. Hope that clarifies things. Thanks for watching.
