      I picked up an ALP unit off fb marketplace for a great deal with intentions to make a vertical arcade build. Somehow, the virtual pinball has become the most popular addition to my gameroom.

    I built a Ducktales themed one this summer, I love it! The surround sound feedback is a must, as well as having solenoids or even better yet real pinball mechs inside make a huge difference and really make it feel like a real table! There are a lot of toys you can add on to get a better experience. Great hobby and super fun!

    I can see the appeal for having many games. Especially if you want to get experience playing a bunch of games and rulesets. But I always feel playing a virtual cabinet it feels empty, even with some coils going off to mimic the virtual ones. My biggest is always the flat display and losing that perspective. I almost feel they'd be better with VR goggles so you can move your head around and see the game while playing.

    • @daver7178
      @daver7178 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Convenience and authenticity are on the tradeoff seesaw. I totally understand the joy of playing on real tables; however, I'd happily sacrifice a small chunk of that experience for something new and playable in my basement if we're being honest. Having that many tables with all the matching back screen video/displays available at the flip of switch is awesome.

    • @Armadillojihad
      @Armadillojihad ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are vr versions as well and it is overall a better pinball experience in my opinion from when i tried it. If you search pinsim you can see some example builds. There are vpx 10 vr versions of nearly all the tables featured in this video. The downside is you lose out on convenience and the social aspect of playing with a buddy taking turns and watching each other play. Also the video card requirements for a good experience are quite a bit more demanding than this 2d version plus the cost of the vr headset. Probably adds about$3k to the total setup cost.

    • @truhunk1
      @truhunk1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They do have pinball in VR, but I found there was quite the lag, it made it difficult to play. The paddles have about 1/8 of a second delay. In pinball, that's a long time.
