We all know that the NX350h and the NX450h+ still has a lot of wait. Some people want the new NX to help them save money on gas. So in this video, I examine if the NX250 AWD is an option or not. It does seem the NX250 is not the focus and many say that the 250 is just to keep the starting price low so that Lexus can tell the world that it can start at a lower price point.

Interesting prespective ! In Europe, the debate is only between hybrid models, hence, the 250 is out of scope. And the 350.
Yes. Many countries don't have the 250. In Taiwan they have the 200.
@@lsft Indeed, the 200 in Taiwan with a 2L naturally aspirated, if I am right, and the 250.
And in China, they have the 260 (not the 200 nor the 250). It seems to be a 2,5L naturally aspirated, but could not identify what is specific to this model (I don't read Chinese !).
The 350h is at least 5k more than 250 in my dealership due to 350h all have additional adds on.
It's hard to find like for like models as the 350h typically would have more options. It may balance out when it comes down to cost of ownership after paying for gas over a time period.
@@lsft Thank you for the response and the great video review! I might consider hybrid since I keep cars for 10+ years and the gas savings can add up in the long run, only concern is not using premium gas on 350h might damage the vehicle in the long run? This is never clear to me.
@@alisonwang1400premium is only recommended and not required. It shouldn't be a problem as many owners have been using regular gas. RAV4 also uses regular gasoline with the same engine. One reason why they recommend premium is that they tuned the engine to have a bit more horsepower if premium is used. If you aren't a racer and flooring the gas pedal, it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps.
@@lsft Very helpful! Thank you so much! Appreciate the video review and the responses!
People that choose the hybrid versións, forget that the battery, as good as it can be, can last the most only 8 years, a non hybrid versión has a better resale value
I've owned hybrids that last over 10 years. My current CT200h is already over 8 years old. The battery warranty is 10 years as well.
@@lsft ok, but the resale value will be in fact a downgrade, you keep your car for 5 years, the next owners will have to spend on the battery eventually, That's a fact, Ive seen those prices, and are not competitive compared to non hybrid used models
@@tacuazinful yes. But you can drive it until it can't. Then it wouldn't matter. You buy a car to enjoy and not to resale
Do you have a source for the 8 years figure? Hybrid Battery warranty is 12 years in Canada.
@@lsft "You Buy a car to enjoy not to resale" ok, that's your intake, but many of us always see the economical part, and if You can have both (enjoy and good resale value), then why not to go with those options
Is the NX 250 have better fuel efficiency and fuel saving
No The NX350h is more efficient
NX250: 25mpg city / 33mpg highway or 9.4L/100km city / 7.4L/100km highway
NX350h: 41mpg city / 37 mpg highway or 5.6L/100km city / 6.4L/100km highway
If you are a driver who drives on the highway like 80% of the time, you might not gain all the benefits of the 350h; however, even rush hour stop and go traffic on the highway, the 350h would still do much better.
Personally I wouldn’t even consider the 250 but I can understand how people might.
Totally understand. I never considered it as well
Well tge 250 model will be the most reliable. Sad for you you didn't consider it .
@@scaldon2 Why will it be the most reliable? Lexus has the highest reliability record of any brand and I have a few mates with them and they've never had an issue? The 250, 350 and 450 already have strong stats so wouldn't think reliability would even rate as a consideration. If you wanted a higher spec vehicle you also wouldn't consider the 250.
@@scaldon2 I guess it depends on how long do you plan to drive it.
For the vast majority of people the 250 will be cheaper in the long run because it would take many years to break even with the price difference of the more expensive hybrid.
