Slash is an Improvisational player guitarist musician more so than your Classically trained Juliard Musical Theory type. It's not to say he does not know music and the ins and outs of it. He is more of your self taught woodshed playing with and learning from many other musicians and becoming his own style and sound along the way, makes the tunes he plays his own, but well capable of playing what some other musician is wanting or needing of him in a tune ! ! ! Music is a never-ending learning and applying experience / process . . . 👍 I dig the Slash Wah and have been looking for a model other than my Crybaby Q and my 20+ year old Digi-Tech Synth Wah , then there is other brands with their features. I can not go and check out gear without buying something man, so I carry my Oh No You Don't Accountant/ Budgeteer with me, My Woman to keep my GAS in check ! ! !🤭 I like the LP that MAX played in this video. I have 2 Gibson LP guitars and 2 Epiphone LP Prophesy guitars moded up ! ! ! Peace & Play 🎸 On . . . 😎🤘 DDH 1-25-2020.
I have a few of Zakk's pedals and his micro stack (sounds wicked) and a Zakk Wylde Epiphone Les Paul, he also signed my Marshall jcm800 combo amp. You have to really play hard and dig in those notes to get close to his style.
All the years I've been playing I kinda gave up on finding a decent sounding wah, until I picked up the Zakk Wylde wah and I will never sell it. It's not overpowering or understated, it's perfect for me. The slash one is a bit too much high end cut for me, but that's his style so it's what it is. It only took me 20 something years , but I like the Zakk Wylde wah for me.
It's amazing how many sounds you can really get out of a wah wah pedal. I've been using an original cry baby with an original Ibanez tube screamer('83) for years, and they are incredible together!!!
intresting and versatile. It's a great unit. sounds amazing congrats to you friends ant there new baby. take care Max have a great Christmas from your pal Helcat in Australia.
@@lueysixty-six7300 yes Luey I was getting ready for work and I guess with the time difference between Australia and the U.S.A I often see Maxes videos as soon as they are put up. So it's nice to watch as I drink a coffee before work. take care Luey have a great Christmas.

@@lueysixty-six7300 Thanks Luey you have a great Christmas Mate I will look out for your comments and read them in the new year. It's nice to chat with someone with similar interests. Take care from your pal Helcat in Australia.
I've had this on my board since it came out. It received a lot of hate but I always knew what it was good for. My only complaint is I wish the filter effected the really high notes a little better but overall it's really good.
The 18v input isn't really a big deal because, in my experience, you have to separate any wah pedal from all other power or it gets to much interference. The only problem I can see is, if your a distortion guy, rather than an over-drive guy, how will it match the distortion level or tone level? I can anticipate issues there.
I got the Rocktron Black Cat Moan and that has a Germanium gain circuit in it. It sounds so good, I use it just as my lead dirt tone when I'm not even using wah. And I have like ten different good choices for gain! This one, along with the amps tube gain channel, are tied for my number one lead tone. That's how good this Germanium chip is - no shit!! I don't know how your one here one stacks up. I just know, the Black Cat Moan has been my best pedal buy of the year (and I've bought and built a whole board from scratch this year!)
Hey Max !! Just a suggestion if you wanna grow you channel Live Teaching chats would be a good idea Teach a known or original Riff or solo piece then have a Q&A for about 15 or 20 minutes or however long you feel . I have been played for over 30 yrs and would like to pick your brain and talk with others in a chat situation . Just an Idea Thanks for the demo !! \M/
Nice pedal! Thanks for the good review because I'm now really considering buying it. Have a great holidays for them ending of this year and a great new start for 2020!!!
I remember back around 1967 or so fender came out with a combo called fuzz wah, sound pretty good with the right setup, annyome else remember this , maybe not I'll be 105 next month lol
Only gripe I have about this pedal is it doesnt have an option to run two 9V sources(So you can get the 18V that way). Sometimes you forget the power source and being able to use two combined would be a lifesaver.
If you have a strymon timeline, this pedal is a lot of fun to put into the feedback loop. Your signal remains the same but the echoes of the timeline are affected with wah and distortion. Incredible sounds can be made. It sounds like multiple guitarist playing at 1 time.
When you started doing the demo and it was sounding really cool I was thinking how awesome would a split screen be, then you added the Box and I was happy. Max your instincts are always awesome, unless your instinct tells you to bury your Gibson in the desert, you Madman!
My Boss PW-10 is a combination wah and distortion plus many other options as well. I absolutely love it. This one sounds cool too. The Boss pedal can make vowel sounds (freaks my wife out, lol)
Cool pedal. My first pedal I ever owned was a Jaxx Fuzzwah. I bought it from my guitar instructor in 1978 when I was 14. I'm sure I just made a bunch of noise and didn't know how to properly use it. Since then I really appreciate the wah for its many uses. You can get the Michael Schenker tone, or go Wilde or Hammett it. Then you can study Jimi's beautiful use.
Max you should check out the DIme signature wah. It's the most versatile wah ever with so many settings, a built in boost, it's amazing. And maybe some Dimebag gear like a Dean ML would be cool to see. Love the channel and keep up the good work Max!
Hey Max did you dig up your Les Paul yet? In regards to the Wah is it me or when you throttle back on the gas pedal does it mute your volume?Shouldn’t it provide a deeper sound without the loss of volume? Other than that a interesting pedal (like a gas pedal with nitrous button) and some very nice playing!
Could probably use an old laptop adapter (19.5 volt-2+amp) in a pinch as well. Neat pedal, but not in my budget at the moment... But that Wolf Guitar, NICE!!! Congrats to your bud, no more 8hr's of uninterrupted sleep for them ;-) (side note: my baby girl is getting married in March, tell him to enjoy EVERY SINGLE MINUTE!!! They go by in a flash!!!) Merry Christmas to you sir, as well as the rest of the Guitar Max watchers :-)
I say keep them separate because if you're going to have a boost for a solo... you don't just want it on during the wah part you can get a great wah and a great distortion pedal for the same price as this thing on the used market.. as always great videos max!
Can you use the distortion separately or is it just together? Also is there a link to the wah pedal where I can buy it? “I like overdrive and wah pedals this one does both of those things” -Danzig (you). Nice introductory line my brother. Keep rockin’.
I bought a Morley Pro series 2 wah for about £40 ($50??) earlier this year and it has a killer tone similar to Steve vai's bad horsie Morley wah. Definitely check out some Morley wahs if you haven't already
Hey man! Try out a Cort CR300. It will blow out your mind! I have seen a lot of your videos for chibsons and alternatives but you haven't tried cort CR300!!
This or pedals with high gain switch is best fit for the ones who does the solo and come out on stage during that. For the regular players, this is quite an overkill. Well, that's my opinion and experience with my fellow soloists (I don't solo so not for me).
This is the moment I am going to be a cry baby legitimately!!! Damn I've got the old crybaby...now I need this one!!? Santa....if you don't want to see me cry...??
I have this wah. It's a cool pedal, but I don't really like the tone sweep. It goes from 2 extremes really quickly and there isn't much in between. You either have a super muffled "woman" like tone, or a super spikey treble and like I said it happens quick. The distortion is cool, but I never find myself using it considering the other drive pedals on my board. I'm probably going to keep it in my collection, but I've been in search for another wah.
Also check out Milos Popovich, he builds his own pedals from scratch, I own a few of his boutique pedals and they are excellent. (and NOT at boutique pricing)
