Well you can also say no to a job offer, the consequence is that you don't get the job. You can say no at gntm but the consequence is you have to go because there are people who say yes. Saying no always has consequences but you still can and should do it. But I kinda agree with you, gntm is sometimes very questionable.

Im ausländischen Kontext bzw. bei Vergleichen werden Deutsche hingegen paradoxerweise oft zu Patrioten/Deutschlandfans bzw. (zumindest) neutraler, s. 1) Kommentarspalte von TH-cam-Videos, deren Titel "German" enthält, 2) deutsche Weltstars in Amerika, 3) internationale Sportmeisterschaften etc. Von außen scheint es so, als wären Deutsche ständig auf ihren Ruf bzw. auf Fremdwahrnehmung fixiert (dieser Komplex ist höchstwahrscheinlich der Vergangenheit geschuldet), deshalb neigen sie statistisch gesehen auch dazu, sich schlechter zu machen, als sie (für andere) sind. Der zweite Aspekt, der hier eine Rolle spielen könnte (aber meiner Meinung nach wie gesagt keine Rolle spielt) ist die Tatsache, dass Amerikaner andere Werte haben. Initially I had the same impression. Whenever I see her on German TV I find her obnoxious but on American TV she seems a lot more likeable. I'm not sure there's actually a difference, though. Probably I simply have different expectations. In America it's more common to meet people who behave similarly to her i.e. all giggly and upbeat. I feel like in Germany that kind of behaviour is more likely to come across as insincere and silly. I'm not sure that's what's going on though
Hi! I may give my own view on that: In recent years GNTM opened up for more diversity since the fashion world has changed. In the beginning GNTM showed the hard restrictions (body size, age etc.) of the former fashionworld and she was absolutely right to be as strict as she was then. After all, those ambitious girls set out to earn both fame and wanted to earn lots of money,too. You do not get that for free, and Heidi knew that... Germans stopped bashing Heidi, we are pretty proud to have one of our best ladies out there...
She totally understands her audience and knows that being a bit more chipper works great for U.S. tv. There's a lot of very beautiful women but she also understands how to play the entertainment game, so she's on a lot of shows here
Heidi comes of as an amazing woman ..... stunningly gorgeous, happy all the time ... like Charlize Theron, Julianne Hough and Emilia Clarke they seem to brighten the room and put smiles on the faces of all the people when sit down and chat.
I think it's really interesting how American's love Heidi for her "bubbly" and "positive" personality while in Germany her image is more ambivalent given her sometimes problematic behavior towards many contestants in Germany's next topmodel (where she is the equivalent of Tyra in the original version). Lemme tell you, she's not all fun and games :D

I mean she is german so it is normal to have a german accent. But hers is pretty strong ngl xD If you are around people speaking american or british english then you kinda just start talking like them.. guess it didnt work. You don´t have to. Outside Germany Klum is a well respected star and celebrity. It's only most of the negative and bullying Germans who don't get her power, happiness and attitude.

@@animeload9984 I watch Germanys Next Topmodel regularly and can assure you it‘s nothing and harmless compared to the real Model Business. Karl Lagerfeld , who was quite respected in Germany, even acknowledged sexual abuse of models claiming ,we are not at the monastery here after all and they are used to letting their pants down anyway‘. I have to admit that Germanys Next Top Model is not my favourite TV-Show of and with Heidi Klum, but the behavior of many Germans towards her is ridiculous and embarrassing.
