18:59 the die starts to break off over time so thats why theres extra metal. also i think it also has a spitting eagle error, a die clash. so this quarter is prolly a 1983 P
@jimmyscoins7839 I don't know if blueridgesilverhound on TH-cam still helps people identity coins like that, you might want to try and contact him or someone like him. As seearejay was saying in the comments, it looks like a 1983p spitting eagle. If you have that cud and it can be identified as a spitting eagle that would date it. That could be a really good coin to send to PCGS or NGC to get designated a spitting eagle and graded with the error. Very cool find even if it doesn't end up being real valuable.
Cud are formed with the die breaks and the metal of the planchet fills the void, plus you have a retained die break in the same spot on the reverse. At least a $30 coin on the bay
No surprise that you didn't find even 1 silver coin. It is surprising that you found 13 W quarters. I have yet to find any since they started minting them. In August I received a 1951-D dime in my change at an Aldi's grocery. Last year I received a 1906 Indian cent in change at a Menard's hardware store. Outside of those 2 coins, I haven't gotten anything of interest worth hanging on to in years.
I can’t believe you didn’t find a single silver out of all those boxes. I average 1 silver quarter per box in my area. My last box had 2 silvers. W’s are a bit more scarce though. Always Loomis boxes for me.
I think you have a retained die crack/break on the reverse and a break (cud) on the obverse. so, Both sides or both dies were cracked but the obverse broke away leaving the void in the die so when the blank was stamped, the metal flows into the void and weakness shows through on the reverse side of the coin where the metal flowed into the void on the front of the coin where the date is supposed to be. In my opinion it is very rare and should also have friends because the problem would have been duplicated until the mint quality inspector discovers the error and replaces the die's the Wilma Mankiller 2022 P has a similar error and is still being found and sold on eBay for $100's of dollars.
Well at least you got a full set of the W mint and the 75 privi mark quarters . Hell a set like that would go for more than the same amount of silver quarters any day of the week. In fact if you would like give me your information and I’ll gladly trade you a silver quarter for a W with a 75 privi mark one for one.
I work for a company who sells coin sorter machines and i was able to buy about $40 worth of Canadian silver dimes and quarter. worth about $1000 in silver
16:55 is a dryer coin, it got stuck in the dryer and got smooth from wear

@seearejay good to know thanks, does that mean there is 2 separate errors?

@stanleykijek6983 i used to find them a lot more common, maybe they are taking them out of circulation

I know they w's are worth more, it's just fun finding silver because they are old
It’s a dryer coin with the smooth rim
Found my first 1963 silver quarter in Walmart a couple days ago
Congrats!
the ten pence is from the uk and the 96 is a dryer coin
For just the love for coins I’d go to any extreme if not I would never bother to spend that much labor to find no coin?
Welcome to coin collecting lol
Tell us how much all of the finds combined are worth!
Roughly 300 dollars, it's mostly the cud and w's with all the value
I would auction the cud error coin
@@RayEwald i may get it graded and then that
Cool.
@@jimmyscoins7839definitely get it graded 👍🏻
10 pence is from Great Britain
