Just because the Dr martens you purchased aren't made in england doesn't mean they are fake, they have so many variations of the same boot it makes me scratch my noggin? My favorite are the originals made in england but I also have 2 pair one made in China & the other made in vietnam. They were also expensive. I know mine are authentic because I purchased them from the DM website & famous footwear:)Keep making content how you enjoy to💚Its nice to see positivity especially during these times of uncertainty💚

Angels Beauty Mark when they almost went bankrupt in 2003 they moved most of their manufacturing over to China to reduce costs. They’re not all made in England for those who were wondering!

I'd say these are the greatest shoes I've ever worn, bc I went to the US for 3 weeks and I walked a lot in them, of course I wore them the whole travel (more than 24 hours). Never ever had a problem with my feet. Well they are expensive, but they are worth it. I've got the 1460 slip resistant cherry red

Somehow youtube recommended your channel. I am also new to Dr. Martens and I have been wearing them all day for the past 2 weeks. I start at 6:00 AM when I take my dog for a 1/2 mile walk, or when I have to do a Costco or local grocery store. Since the pandemic I have been working from home so don't take them off until I go to sleep. I got a blister on my right foot heel and I left ankle hurts a bit, but I am not giving up until these boots are tamed. (and now you got a new subscriber)

There is a YT channel called Rose Anvil, the guy on there deconstructs boots and stuff. Anyway he had a method for breaking in dr martens that should work. The reason they hurt and creak is because the new, thick leather is dry and stiff. It needs oil to help make it supple and more soft. He uses heat and a penetrating oil to soften leather. I used to heat up neatsfoot oil and rub it into the leather when I got new stirrups or reins when I rode horses. Heat and oil really works well to soften leather and it makes it last better. Best of luck.

I live in Seville Spain, and bought my Docs at an official Doc Martens shop and they're made in China.
Had to stay true to size with mine; slightly roomy, due to my narrow foot and some heel slip. With thick/sports socks they are perfect. Hell It was either that, or destroy my big toe. I prefer footwear to be comfy straight out of the box, call me crazy. Highly Recommend trying them in person if possible.
The reviews were awesome; Love the sense of humor. Subscribed!

I just bought a pair and first of all, the shoes look super cute on your feet and 2nd I did not realize by reading the comment section and looking at other videos how much time and effort goes into these shoes. The care of them and the break in process. Like really??? But I'm stuck with them now and i think they're super cute. Thanks for the video

Dr Marten do loads of different styles. These are the '1460 Vegan Leather' ones. The 'Made in England' are another variation. Yes, the only ones actually made in England now & yes more expensive, but certainly not the most popular. Personally, I like the Pascal 1460s and my daughter loves the Bex style.

Are they comfy now? My DMs came today and oh yeah, the 1460s are rough to break in. I'm using oil on the inside,(lightly), and just a tiny thin bit to the outside to moisten fibers for a better stretch. They fit really well but they are hard as a turtle shell across the top and the bit at the top has to learn to.give. Silly me, I ordered a second pair ,(clearance half price)in another color before these came, they'll be here next Thursday. That means I will be breaking in 1460s back to back. I better get this right.

I've had my Dr Martens since 2017 and have only worn them a handful on times as they hurt soooooo much. But today I learnt that you can REMOVE the insole!!
Omg they fit soooo much better now. I actually have a chance of wearing them around to break them in.
Does your boots have an insole you can remove?

Your docs aren't fake per say. In the doc martens heyday they were produced by NPS and branded Dr Martens by Solovair. Now, docs are mostly outsourced to Asia, and modern day reviews cite cheap leather and weak soles. Using the same logic, even the made in England docs should be considered "fake". If you want the proper doc quality, go look at Solovair - those are the guys that made the original docs. There's videos out there comparing rubber hardness and teardowns (rose anvil has done some good videos on this) and solovairs are more expensive but will last you longer and be more comfortable in the process.
My docs' soles wore flat after wearing them maybe 3 days a week for work for less than 3 months give or take. I also noticed that there is a distinct lack of arch support reinforcement (shank is the name I believe) so after a month of wear they suddenly became fatiguing, even with orthotics in - no more spring in my step. But for casual wear or if you don't have arch issues like me I hear they are very comfy! Mine were 1460 Aztecs with a different - probably less stiff - leather to yours but my break in was basically non existent compared to other boots (especially red wing boots which I invested in after my docs failed me, those guys hurt at the start).
My tips are don't necessarily double up on socks, just wear thick socks. If you don't have hiking socks, get a pair or two. Two socks can actually increase rubbing by sliding around each other. Don't wear them loose - leather boots are comfy because they conform to your foot and are uniquely yours. Wear them tight, the leather will stretch to your feet. Wear them every other day t the start so the leather can rest between wears at the break in stage. The holes you advised to not loop through in the last video, you want them tight there to lock your heel. Pull the laces tight as you can there and maybe do a single knot before going to the next eyelet to really lock it down. If they're really stiff, look into moisturising cream, it'll help soften up the leather and stretch them. If they're still sore, maybe theyre the wrong size. If there's a docs store near you, go in and they'll help you find your size if you want to replace them. Ultimately, docs are expensive and whether they're worth it depends on you. For me, I wore through the soles too quickly for them to be worth it but you might get more life out of them once you've got the break in sorted. Good luck!

H 2 Alex hi my docs caused bad blisters on my heels, i found it useful to alternate between my regular vans and docs, I also put tape on my heel immediately after I noticed blisters, to alternating makes breaks the docs in and the tape prevents your foot from dying, after about two weeks they were not hurting anymore

From the comments I've received a lot of people consider the real, genuine Dr. Martens to be those produced in the UK. The majority of the shoes Dr. Martens sells now are produced in other countries other than their vintage collection. These are still the authentic Dr. Martens brand but not the UK produced shoe which costs upwards of $300.

olivialaclaire well I wore them all day at work today! At first the pain was unbearable, but I did not give in to it. In fact, I worked harder and pretended I was in a boot camp and these were the boots I had been issued. LOL. Then the pain would come and go. By the end of the shift, I was extremely tired but I felt I had made a great deal of progress with the boots. I slapped 2 band-aids over my right heel blister, gritted my teeth and kept right on trucking. I feel like I can take another day, gonna work tomorrow in them too.
