You and I both. I realized I’ve never failed an obstacle other than the spear throw before. This weekend was different. Olympus took every last thing I had and I failed within two feet of the bell. After that, there was no hope getting over The Box. You didn’t give up, that’s all that matters! Keep pushing and thanks for the comment!
Was there for the SUPER! Can confirm it was insane conditions. The ground conditions were far worse for us when we started. Y'all had *some* grass to run on LOL
I was waiting for this video 😂 Your obstacles looked relatively clean. By the time I started the race, all the obstacles were slathered with mud. I went with five noobs and it was penalty loop after penalty loop. They loved and hated every minute of it, but we all finished together and they're talking about doing another. Keep up the great work! 💪🏻
Hey it goes with the territory of bringing new people with ya. But the plus side is you possibly just changed some of their lives by introducing them to this sport. I know it changed my life in amazing ways. I can’t imagine how muddy the obstacles got but at least you avoided tons of burpees this year!
Wish you could have been there man! I’ll be heading out to the Midwest in September but not for a spartan. For the Pikes Peak Marathon in Colorado. Hope to catch you at a race sometime and thanks for the support!
Yes, it was the muddiest race I'd ever run. Everything was extremely slippery. I was glad they canceled the bucket carry when I got there. Everyone was pretty much slipping and sliding everywhere. Great job!
Yea the bucket carry got pretty dangerous for sure. It was the right move to pull it but I feel bad for the elite and age group runners that were faster than me and got stuck doing the entire loop. I at the very least caught it right after they cut it short. Keep pushing, hope to see ya at the next one!
This was done on the GoPro hero 11 black. However, every other race video I have up was filmed with the GoPro hero 8 black. Oh, and a chest mount. Head mounts give better first person footage for sure but I just still feel silly. When I can, I’ll bring the GoPro on a selfie stick and have other people help film me.
Yeah, way muddier on Sunday. Failed 25% of the obstacles but still managed to make it my best race yet with the best finish placement on the leader boards.
Awesome man congrats! I failed obstacles I’ve never before failed but hey that’s just how it goes I guess. Thankful for the penalty loops instead of burpees lol. Keep working your way up those ranks!
I did The Sprint Race. It was the last race of the day so the course was destroyed. The rain picked and the whole course looked worse then the bucket carry section. All you saw was water, mud, oh and rocks lol. But I love it. I will be back next year God willing.
Just have to embrace the suck and it ends up being a ton of fun! I can’t imagine what it was like by the end of the weekend. Way to power through! Come back in September for the trifecta weekend they hold every year.
Great job out there! That bucket carry looked RIDICULOUS! Glad you got that on video before they shut it down. Nice work!
However ridiculous it looked, it was ten times worse! Lol thanks for the support guys!
I was probably a half hour after you, 35yr group. Appreciate the rock piles on the mud hill where the buckets fell. Gave a little traction. 😂
@@gregricketts2391 lol I was thinking the same thing! Others failures were my only hope of getting up that hill 😂
I'm doing the Vernon Trifecta this April. Oh boy. 😬
It was wild, I failed so many obstacles I never fail, so many penalty loops, so much mud, took me twice as long….but I finished

Haha I saw how bad it got after we raced. What a crazy and fun weekend! Hope to catch ya at the next one!

Looks like it was a blast! Wish that race was closer to the Midwest so I could have joined the fun!

More of a bucket slide than a bucket carry. LOL
You know it man! Craziest one I’ve done thus far and it was awesome! Lol
