    Thanks for posting these videos! My biggest problem with the Vanquish series is they are not waterproof, that is a deal killer for me. I'll just stick with my Equinox 600.

      I agree that waterproof would be great, but you'd be paying more for it then. For most of us, we can make it water resistant enough for our purposes by putting a $1 plastic bag on it. I'm not looking to dive with a detector. I just need it to be able to withstand being accidentally dropped in the water or splashed when strapped to the top of a kayak. And I can do that easily enough with a strong enough plastic bag that wraps the whole detector (I currently use the smaller oven cooking bags designed for hams). So for the money, this is a great option in my opinion for the type of detecting that I currently do.

    I saw 1 guy... with the 540 . He had two small small pieces of Gold, not even nuggets. He could hit those in jewelry mode only. But minelab told me the frequency range is the same as the equinox and runs between 5kHz and 40kHz. In multi mode, the 600 & 800 have the same frequencys... In manual freq. Mode the 600 is limited. The Vanquish uses all it's frequencies in all modes. BUT they keep it a secrete exactly, what or how, that freq. range is used in each mode. As they do in the Equinox. But I'm thinking the vanquish with the small coil in jewelry mode will work as well as any Gold machine. If a machine has 20kHz or higher... some manufacturers class it as Gold machine capable. And the Vanquish has a 40kHz in the mix.
    I don't think it will work as well as a Gold only machine... that works way up the scale of kHz.. like the Gold Monster. I haven't seen anyone use it on nuggets besides that 1 guy. And that was a air test. Minelab boost... All metals, All soils, All the time. So I'm thinking this little 540 machine would hunt gold very good, with the small coil & in jewelry mode.

    • @IffySignals
      @IffySignals  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea its the same as the Nox i heard that as well and just like the Nox different modes are weighted differently. I agree i think its good for gold but not as good as a gold machine or a Deus with HF coil that can run 74klh.

    Is it just me, or does the Vanquish seem to out perform the NOX? I watched a test you did with the new F2 update, and seems like the NOX didn't do this good. Thanks for sharing, and good luck with your diggin.

      I would love to test them in the test garden and do some recovery as well but we just got hit with snow. Depth wise they are very close if not the same. Nox might get deeper by lowering the recovery speed but the Vanquish is very impressive and i would have no concerns hunting with it as a primary machine. Sometimes less options and trusting the engineers is a good thing 👍 i will make a comparison as soon as i can see my markers again. Thx

    The Vanquish seems to be a really nice machine. Which do you favor between the Simplex and the Vanquish?

    • @IffySignals
      @IffySignals  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jerry, i like the Vanquish for the tones and ability to knock out big iron if I want. The Simplex has the awesome field mode that is really deep but only has two tones. Both are good machines but my preference is the Vanquish.. i already have the Nox for water and the tones and IDs are the same. If you need a water machine then the Vanquish is out. Take care 👍

    • @IffySignals

      Hi, the 8” will be better in tighter areas like the woods around brush or trees and could recover better in trashy areas it does not punch as deep as the 12”.

    Quite a nice detector iffy,
    In your opinion what do you prefer this or the simplex?

    • @IffySignals
      @IffySignals  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Jim, i prefer the Minelab because of the multi freq and the 5 tones in all modes. Simplex is stuck in two tones for there deep mode. Vanquish has 5 tones for all modes. Anyone who likes the Equinox will most likely like the Vanquish. Other than the fact that it looks like a Fire Truck 🚒. Take care bud.

    Hey I know kinda old video but I have a question. I just got the 440, and is there a difference in depth with the 540 if we have the same coil? For example I have the V8 coil, would it go as deep as the 540 with the V8? Or is the 540 just a deeper detecting machine?
    Thanks for the vid

    • @IffySignals

    • @IffySignals

      Seems to have same depth but the Eq you can adjust for more depth by lowering the recovery speed. Recovery is fast and i read a reply from minelab that its using the same multi iq freqs as the Nox. Thx
