This is hands down the best step by step guide for setting up the GA4 account! Thank you! Going to use this for staff training video. Appreciate all the value you provide on your channel!
Also coming from Google's official GA4 tutorial. This is so much clearer, more understandable, and complete than the Google one. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Hi Benjamin. I recently discovered your channel, and I just wanted to say thank you so much for your tutorials. I've watched a few of them and your step by step guides, pacing and visualizations are easy to follow and really helpful! Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thanks for the video. Here are some other issues I'm struggling with - just to give an idea for the next video(s) 1. Facebook campaigns - how do you track them in GA4? All I see is "social" but I have let's say 3 campaigns on Meta. There is this option to create a custom url - how to see that url in GA4? 2. Page optimisation tips - directly related to GA4. Here I'm struggling with 2 things. First, is the simple "add Event Tracking Code to Phone Number Link?" I still don't understand is it google tag and then something in analytics or how do I track how many people clicked on the "phone button" on the website? Second, how to track individual pages - I have, let's say 10 landing pages on the website - I need data for all 10. So, here you go, these are examples of pain points connected to GA4 after it's been set up. Cheers!
Hi Benjamin. Thank you for this video. Need one clarity on this point "Do I need to learn universal analytics before to learn GA4 better?" - Appreciate your response.
I watched this whole tutorial - appreciate it! I already found some Events that had moved over from Universal (these were previously Goals where I tracked opt-in conversion rates and sales/thank you page views), but I made sure they were working OK by going to Admin - Events (+ made sure they were marked as Key Events). You shared the process to create Funnel Visualization Reports through EXPLORE - where I can set up the same parameters. How are these two methods different if I want to track the same things? And most important (I've done a lot of searching on this), how can I track the CONVERSION RATE for these that I've set up. Is there a new term for that? So frustrating :( Thanks again for this resource.
i found this one "On March 21, 2024 Google made a major change to the nomenclature of conversions in GA4, introducing a new name for conversions that aren't specifically tied to Google Ads. The new name is “Key Events”. Conversions are still around, but now they're only attached to Google Ads traffic sources. " so maybe when you add the metrics put Key events because conversions don't show up to me as well !
I love your videos and they have helped me so much as I work on client accounts! I do have a question - I have a client that recently launched a new website with a new domain. They carried over their GTM with their Google Tag in it, so we are still tracking traffic just fine, but the Data Stream setup didn't change. The Stream URL is still the old domain. Should that be updated? What would it solve or what problems could it create if that was updated? Thank you!
Hey Benjamin, I am running a TH-cam Campaign in Dv360 and my client is looking to improve the user metric in session/ user reprt. Now, im unaware of what the user in ga4 would be equivalent to in dv360 to help them improve. Could you guide me
You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I have one question: If my website exists since one year but I'm only using Analytics now, can I still see the analytics from the past year? I'm an analytics beginner, sorry if this a stupid question :)
At 6.23 mins you have shown "Choose your business objectives" and you have selected "Get baseline reports" . I cannot find this screen in my GA4 account
Correct. You can use gtag or GTM to add it to your site. Don't do both or it will double everything. GTM is better because you can manage the tags directly in GTM rather than needing to place tags on your site every time. Hope this makes since and I hope it helps. 🙂
I have a question. If I have a personal website where I don’t plan on receiving money, can I still use Google analytics? I don’t have a licensed business and I just want to use Google Analytics for a personal project. Would I be able to use Google Analytics despite not having a business?
@@LovesDataThank you for your response. I heard from a friend that Google Ads updated to needing registered companies. I got scared that Google Analytics would do the same.
Hola tengo una urbanización sin fines de lucro en México con más de 14 años de estar legalmente constituida y quería ver si me pueden apoyar en terminar de elaborar El dominio
@@LovesData I found the issue. I had a plug in for cookies, and they installed the gtm tag .. so because the gtm tag was installed twice, it didn't work properly
Google must have updated again... smh... I'm missing so many of the things you're showing in this video. My analytics page is missing A LOT of those options. There is no "Life Cycle" section what so ever for example.
It hasn't been updated (yet). I mention this at the start of the video. The selection you make when you create the property controls which preconfigured reports are available. To adjust this you can use the 'Library' option which is on the bottom left corner after you select 'Reports'. And I touch on the 'Library' option in this video: th-cam.com/video/sLT_URKPwMw/w-d-xo.html
I am watching from Canada. Thank you so much for took the time to make these tutorials. God bless you!
this was much more informative than the course provided by google! Thank you for this!
I was thinking the same thing!
This is hands down the best step by step guide for setting up the GA4 account! Thank you!
Going to use this for staff training video.
Appreciate all the value you provide on your channel!
Introduced the whole thing to a beginner like me in an hour. What a great tutorial!!
Also coming from Google's official GA4 tutorial. This is so much clearer, more understandable, and complete than the Google one. Thanks for the great tutorial!
The best video for understanding GA4 as a total GA4-noob like me. 😅
Thank you so much for this work!
Incredible video. The tonality, sequence of info, coverage of important features.
Very nice tutorial. Amazing how complex this has become over the years. It is like flying the space shuttle. Overkill for most of us commoners...

Great video! Explained in simple terms and easy to follow.
Thanks for the new video! I’m looking forward to seeing what other content you post! Always good to learn as much as you can!
Thanks for posting. The other videos I found on this didn't cover the latest version of Google Analytics.
I really liked the video! Everything is clear and precise, you are real professionals!
Hi, Thanks for the Video, can you please explain whats the difference between User & Traffic Acqusition report?
very well explained for newbies #lovesdata thanks
thanks for all of this tutorial, thanks from Spain
Thanks. I do i get full version of this audio.
Hi Benjamin. Thank you for this video. Need one clarity on this point "Do I need to learn universal analytics before to learn GA4 better?" - Appreciate your response.
No, you do not need to worry about Universal Analytics as GA4 is pretty much just the updated replacement
Perfect Training

What’s the difference between the good ads overview and the google analytics are they connect ?
Thanks for this, where can I see the utm link data in the explore reports?

Glad you like it! Google Analytics only collects data once you install the tracking code. So it won’t include any historical data before this.
@@LovesDatathank you so much for your answer!
Thank you so much man!
Thanks for the video!
Wonderful session
@21:38 Can I add more than 2 dimensions to the report?
I liked the video. It's very informative. Thank you.😇

Too kind. Thank you!
Extremely Useful! Thanks for this video!
Excellent tutorial, thank you.
a lot of useful information! thank you!
Very nicely explained
Excellent video - However, I don't see the "Conversions" below Data display
Conversions are now ‘Key Events’. I cover this here: th-cam.com/video/j747Xb-ik5A/w-d-xo.html

Hi , Ben, Do you need to install tag from GA4 to the website also? because GTM tag already installed on the website. Two tags are different right?
Correct. You can use gtag or GTM to add it to your site. Don't do both or it will double everything. GTM is better because you can manage the tags directly in GTM rather than needing to place tags on your site every time. Hope this makes since and I hope it helps. 🙂

I dont have conversions when I try to search in metrics, its because of new version?
Damn loved this video so much, learned so much within an hour compared to that soul sucking skilshop course
Coursera is worst,it got me confused for almost two months..the mr Micheal is a bad lecturer
Well done
Thank you for the video!
Do You have a tutorial to get gclid?
Not currently, but I’ll add it to my list of requested topics.
thank you so so mcuh!
Thanks! How can I see the used keywords to find my website?
You will need to link Google Search Console to see organic keywords.
Great Video.
Thanks!
wonderful
Why are we choosing Google tag instead of Google analytics in Google tag manager tag type?
You will find selecting ‘Google Analytics’ gives you the same Google Tag.
The link from the email to download page of the glossary does not work.
I thought he was going to talk about fun with flags :P Thank you tho, very useful video!
great thanks
we will want one playlist there learning basic to advance
11:23 - who the hell is buying Google hats and T-shirts!! hahaha (great tutorial though Benjamin 👍)

Dude why are you so happy
Why do I have to do this?
I love these videos - but who says "d-a-r-t-a" ? There is no "R" sound in data.
Ha! This one’s for you: th-cam.com/video/X5C9MvBRzIw/w-d-xo.html
That's unfortunately not work for me, nothing appears in debug view..
If nothing appears in the DebugView, a different Measurement ID is implemented on the website or there’s an issue with the implementation.
@@LovesData I found the issue. I had a plug in for cookies, and they installed the gtm tag .. so because the gtm tag was installed twice, it didn't work properly
is google signal disabled now?
For reporting identities, yes, but it’s still used for advertising features and demographic reporting.
thanks mate@@LovesData
