- In this video, I talk about how to get a job as a teen. It is holiday season so plenty of companies are hiring aaaand you might need a little money to spend for gifts and stuff. Hopefully these tips were helpful!

-Play down the fact you are a student, -Dress the part (Dressy)
-Know why you want to work at a company
- Be on time (Early)
- Focus on what’s available in your schedule vs what’s not for you in interviews (similar to #1)
- Always say yes if you have transportation
- Always ask a few questions when they ask if you have any at the end of an interview. (3-5 questions)
-Be yourself and smile
-Apply during holiday seasons
You’ll know the interview is going well if they’re nodding, being verbal, have a longer interview because employers are not gonna waste your time
They will ask a lot of situational questions

When I tell them about myself, do I just tell them traits about me? orr wht😭
Tell them things about yourself that are relevant to the job and would prove you're qualified, if you want to include traits go for ones listed on the Claire's website which include "courage, respect, positive attitude" among others. Good luck!

I turn 16 around Christmas and my mom would always say “Holidays are the best time to apply so with me turning 16 around Christmas it would be easier to get a job” 😂 also thanks for the tips!

I'm not a teen, but I'm 22 years old and minimum wage jobs (retail and fast food) won't call me back -_-. I had an interview with Panda Express, did one with 2 shift leaders then another one with the Area Manager. Was gonna do a third one with his boss, but they never called back. Makes me feel kind of bad that someone my age is struggling to land a job

I'm 19 and I'm the same boat except I haven't even made the interview stage yet! I got blown off by the first two jobs I applied for and I got rejected from Target right after they viewed my application. I'm already feeling like a failure bc everyone else has been able to get one except me and I need one to help pay for my college.

Christ, I'm 20 and haven't had a real job besides doing private tutoring for a year before uni. I've been stuck at home all semester (thanks covid...) and I really need to get out of the house and get some experience. Time is ticking away and I just feel more and more ridiculous

To be honest I have been applying since june 10 and now todays it’s 23 july can you believe 1 and half month 😐 and I am actually done of applying jobs on indeed and when I try to follow up they are like if you meet our criteria we will call you back for sure 😳 and I be confused aff and then I am like lets leave this shitt around ! And they area where I live is full of brown people ughhhhhh... and I am 17 years old And I really really need a job 😳 like my final year is starting I need a freaking money for my senior year and uni 😩 and God isnt helping
What does your resume look like? Even if you have little experience, how you present yourself on it matters. Also, don’t give up! I have applied to tens of places and went on a lot of interviews. It’s surprising I didn’t give up 😅. All it takes is one yes. Brush up on your resume, practice interview skills, and networking helps as well! Maybe your friend is working somewhere where she can put you on, or your mom knows somebody. Keep trying, you're gonna get a job soon 💕

I did tell them I went to highschool but I told him i can do 4 to closing and he brought up my homework and I told him they brought up extra hour for lunch so I can catch up back in it and he seem ok with it so I probably gonna get more hours and he laugh alot so he was a chill manager and he nod alot

You can use any of those, I like Glassdoor too. For more opportunities, go straight to the company website as well. Type in "*company name* careers" into Google and that usually yield results that may or may not be on websites like Indeed.

Where I live, 14 year olds can get jobs in some places, I’ve been trying to get one as my family and myself could use the money, and I want the experience while I’m young so I’m used to working when I’m older (if that makes sense)

I turn 14 in a few months and i was already looking for a job so i can apply when i turn 14 but in my state every place hires at 16 , but i can get a permit but idk if that means i can work or i have to wait .😕
