Bolt celebrating before he gets to the finish and still beating the world record at the same time
That was definitely 1 of the craziest things I've ever watched. I love the Olympic games and have watched the track and field events since the 88 games when I was a little 5y/o kid. Michael Johnson blew me away and I never thought I would see amy1 dominate like he did. Then bolt came along and absolutely ruined the games for me bcuz nobody will ever do what he did. Its literally almost physically impossible to run faster than he did. Such a beast!!

I read the article back in the day which was tell if bolt did not slowing down in the last 30 mts, he could hit around 9,55 to 9,56 s.
That could be Bolt best 100m.

@@splitz7758 it was greater than that. And i love football/soccer and all other team sports. World Series, Super Bowl, World Cup...it was greater than that. Most World Cup Finals are terrible games. Crappy, defensive struggles. 2018 is the only exception in decades. From 1990-2014 they were all terrible games.
It should say more about the men’s 2012 final. It featured the 5 fastest men of all time and has to be the fastest overall finishing times for a whole field

@@naothi Bolt definitely pushed others to run faster. Once he came on the scene we were seeing more runners consistently run below 9.8.
2012 was a great olympics, also featured the greatest 800m race ever including a world record

Still believe bolt at his peak in the races he celebrated early, would have smashed that 9.58 easily.
Not really ... for example in which race could he have done so .... in his 2008 Olympic victory it wouldn't have took off over 0.1 of a second if he didn't celebrate
when he ran 9.58, he was running all out. He didn't run that in any of these olympic races.
@@depannist the previous time when he ran the 9.6 and started celebrating about 10 meters or so to go..he was on course for a 9.5 as well

The 2008 final was insane, Bolt asserting his dominance, such a big gap and celebrating before crossing the finish line, he was invincible.
Usain Bolt never used to disappoint...always performed when stakes were high...happy and blessed to have witnessed his greatness...Greatest track and field athlete of all time.
There needs to be a study on how 99% of all Olympic 100m sprinters are Black, and then how a tiny country like Jamaica can produce so many of them. Genetics, diet, lifestyle, etc? Just incredible how a country with just 0.04% of the world's population can have up to 2-3 of its athletes among the 8 finalists in both men's and women's 100m sprints
chaoticdays Blacks either have more fast twitch fibers, larger ratio of fast:slow fiber, or larger fast twitch fibers. As to Jamaicans, more about culture and weather. Warm weather allows more time spent running.
In Jamaica, the 100 meter event is like what soccer is to Brazil.when u r a kid your dream is 2 become either an Usain Bolt when u grow up, or 2 be a reggae superstar like Bob Marley.
In Jamaica track is very popular that's why they produce so many talents. In other countries track isn't that popular and there are many other sports which will bring you way more money if you're really good at them.
Jamaica doesnt take drug testing seriously. Their athletes don't get tested at home.

Everyone looks forward to the 100, 200, and 4×100. To see who's the fastest is exciting.
Add to the greatness of Usain Bolt is that he didn't fail in doping test even for a single time in all Olympic games he participated...lot of respect to this all time great
Even if he did fail they wouldn't announce it. He's the face of athletics, take him out the equation and all the sponsors pull out.

@@SuperMuneera if he's not American, they'll announce it lol. But yes he is the face of T&F, he brought sold out arenas wherever he went. So much so, that they rearranged the order of events and put the 4x100 relay last to ensure people stayed in the venue til the very end. Crazy!
Men behind him are running their hearts out and bolt in from celebrating for 20m before the line. What a legend.
Bolt was running into a headwind,, with one of his shoelaces untied, celebrating thirty meters away from the finish line, looking behind, and was able break the world record.
Prime bolt was just on another level, I don't think we would ever see a sprinter like him for another 50 years or so
2012 will never be beaten, forever the most competitive and exciting olympic sprinting season ever!
Has there ever been a more electrifying sprinter than the magical Usain Bolt. Not a chance, he is the ultimate champion and the greatest ever, we are so fortunate that he has been part of our lifetime, and I cannot think of a more appropriate name, BOLT. It’s no wonder that he used the ⚡️ as his iconic pose. What a legend!

Anyone see the similarity between Bolt and Lewis? The fantastic acceleration at the end. Both those guys performed at an entirely different level

It's like from 1-50 meters they're like, "Hey, this is fun", but at 50 meters its, "Sorry guys, I got something I need to do"
Neither accelerate at the end, it’s just a case of slowing down less than the other competitors

With Bolt on the track, the exciting thing was what would be the New World Record.
Not really. He set world records in 2008 and 2009 after that he got slower each year.
@@TheoOJamaloO1 Slower yeah but in a 100m a 1km/h average difference can give you around 0.33s difference so if he ran 9.88 instead of 9.58 that means that he ran in average at a speed 1km/h slower. So yes it is slower but it's not a huge difference in speed they are all insanely fast and Bolt's acceleration is the best that ever existed. And all the runners that are under 9.88 can be classified as peers of bolts as beasts when it comes to running !

We all love to bash when we don't win bt in reality people here are just not interested in other sports than cricket, we have good hockey team, boxing team, we love watching football,athletics bt if there will be a role model or someone who creates a spark in nation, than there is no stopping bt don't know how much time it will take, work has started bt not enough.

The 1996 100mtrs was the most tense and even changed the way the event was staged with its numerous false starts. It was an event scheduling nightmare...I never saw a final that each competitor so obviously wanted to win.

Flo Jo…..was on roids. Soooo many champs were/are on perf. enhancers. It is what it is in T&F. So yes, I will continue to be happy/cheer for Ben Johnson. That race was literally the catalyst as a kid for my love for Olympics/Olympic sports

When a race starts no one wants to keep their eyes off or even dare to blink. You just can't miss the few seconds of uncertainty. So the question now is, why is the description of why a race is exciting be placed just when the race starts. Very very distracting

The problem I had with Bolt at the 2008 Olympic was that he slowed down towards the final 40 metres. If he had just maintained his speed he could have destroyed that Olympic /world record in the 9.4 seconds or better. Sadly we’ll never know .

Amazing ...that most of the top sprinters in History are from Jamaica or born there...Ben Johnson , Linford Christie , Donovan Bailey , Asafa Powell , Yohan Blake and of Course Usain Bolt... and I know I’m missing a few
Check out Arthur Wint and Herb McKinley from 1950"s, and Donald Quarrie and Lennox Miller from the 1970's.They were all Olympic gold or silver medalists long before those mentioned above. Jamaica has been at this for a long, long time.

When watching Bolt and Lewis, you got to think that both had the tactics- Run well within themselves for much of the sprint and in the last 30mts or so just launch themselves like missiles!

2012 is the greatest final ever. Quickest ever times in terms of the spread of their times and at different parts of the race it looked as though 3 or 4 people might win it….. until Bolt went into overdrive
