To this day I'm still 50/50 on if Aizen was telling the truth and he's simply has so much more power that he can "no sell" her death in two strikes or if she never actually hit him and Aizen was messing with Soifon's head. Because both options are completely in character.
@@presticus As strong as Aizen is I don't think under normal circumstances he would've been able to stop suzumebachi. Fairly certain Aizen blocked SoiFon and then left, partially for a spoiler-y reason. But nothing confirmed. Beyond that though, I think it's interesting that Aizen seems to really care about "geniuses", he recruits Gin, he talks about Urahara, and goes out of his way to torment Toshiro. I wonder why the genius Aizen seems to care so much about other geniuses like this...
He left AA as a member of the Espada when reforming them. AA has the memories of and goes around looking like Kaien Shiba who was another one of the "genius" characters.
@grahf4215 not sure your point? I didn't say he hated geniuses or anything, just he pays them special attention. And before it was Aaroniero it was Metastacia who Aizen made so he's still involved.
Gin ichimaru :"That’s right. Aizen isn’t feared because he can use Kyokasuigetsu. Yes, Kyokasuigetsu’s power is terrifying. But that alone would not have been enough to subdue those who would rather die than to obey. That was the only reason why those powerful espadas were able to function as a group despite their personal motives. Because he’s strong. All of Captain Aizen’s abilities are far beyond everyone else’s. Youre going to take precautions against Kyokasuigetsu? Your plans aren’t good enough. You’re going to take precautions against everything else? Your plans still aren’t good enough. Even if you gather your minds against unfortunate events like the sky falling or the earth splitting, Captain Aizen’s abilities are far beyond your plans."
At this point, I’m convinced Aizen just hates Momo and Toshiro. Mind you, he still fights everyone, but if I was either of them, I’d be taking it personally.
He definitely went out of his way to mess up both of them. I personally think he was mainly targetting/testing Hitsugaya for something, maybe he wanted to see how much stronger a Hitsugaya filled with hatred can get within the time in between he left soul society and they finally fought in Karakura.
I@@salmannazeer2688i do think he wants to take down hitsugaya early cause he can really be a threat for him. Yamamoto and hitsugaya Can nuke a huge area with their power, and even with illusion and great power, it s hard to protect yourself from Yamamoto's power and hitsugaya 's ICE. Plus hitsugaya had shown that with time he Can defeat stronger opponent. To enrage him and make him do mistake IS a good plan to not have to care about him.
@@finel3141 Taking threats our early doesn't make much sense when it comes to Aizen as he could've assassinated all of them without them or their allies noticing relying entirely on Kyoka Suigetsu. Aizen needed actual challenges to evolve himself. That was the whole point the Fake Karakura arc fight was building up towards. He was also curious to see how far his experiments could go. I am of the opinion that he was putting Hitsugaya through all that just to see the rate at which a prodigious pure shinigami can progress when motivated by hatred. He could've been trying to see if Hitsugaya can progress like Gin did
I think the switch happened after Soi Fon used suzumebachi on Aizen. If the switch happened before that then suzumebachi would've killed Momo due to Momo not having as much Reiatsu as Aizen which would mean the difference in strength would have to be extremely large for this to be the case. On the topic of Suzumebachi Aizen negating it with his Reiatsu has caused many people to assume that just simply being stronger than Soi Fon stops her Shikai from working not taking in the fact that she lost her arm which is something that made Grimmjow get removed from the Espada and that she fired two Jakuho Raikobens which she said she usually can only manage once every 3 days meaning she was exhausted and missing an arm which means she was very weak when she attacked Aizen. But yeah these chapters were brutal and the upcoming ones further drives the feeling of hopelessness even more and more. Glad you're getting soo invested in this btw.
Thank god you understood that Ichigo could have been screaming for minutes but thanks to Kyoka Suigetsu nobody would have hear him until Aizen wanted to. Many don’t get it
Tōshirō's scream after stabbing Hinamori hits so hard in Japanese (sub) Along with fully hollowfied Ichigo scream against Ulqiorra as well the last Bankai activation from Ichigo from original Bleach
I think Aizen did actually fight those guys for a while, then just flash stepped to slip Momo into the fight in his place at the end. Otherwise, Ichigo could full well have spoken up sooner. Unless he did, and nobody else heard him till Aizen allowed them to.
one important thing that sets aizen apart from all the other hypnosis wielding badies in fiction is that not only was this whole thing extremely well orchestrated to demonstrate the absolute control he has over any situation involving himself, but it was also entirely unnecessary, aizen could have killed all of them easily without using his hypnosis, hell without even drawing his sword, yamamoto and ichigo are the only ones there who even so much as represent any sort of risk to him should he decide to fight them the old fashioned way, he could instantly drop anyone beneath the rank of captain by exerting his spiritual pressure alone and even the captains wouldn't stand a chance against him.
That's just not true though while Aizen has higher Reiatsu than most captains he was still able to be cut by Shinji and we know that wasn't an illusion because the second time Shinji tried to attack and Aizen appeared behind Shinji he still had a wound on his arm. This alone proves captains around Shinji's level are still able to damage him unless if they're already weakened.
So what's beautiful about the sense "what is reality" is re-reading or re-watching bleach and seeing the illusions and wondering what is really happening
this fight, and that exact sequence with Hitsugaya and Momo left me completely dumbfounded, I have no idea how Kubo pulls it off, but that man is a genius, I remember a few videos ago you mentioned about Hitsugaya and Momo actually having a chance at Aizen in battle and all I could remember was this exact moment, there's a reason why people love Aizen as a villain, and I believe it's cemented on this part of the story, it's so twisted because he actually allows Momo to see that it was Hitsugaya and not an illusion, it's brutal and horribly demoralizing for the good guys, at the same time this is still just starting.
These chapters are basically Aizen flexing like the absolute monster he is. It’s always hilarious to see people react to the Bamboozlement from Aizen as well because it feels like you’re always on the back foot. Honestly it’s so fun you’ve gotten to this part! And yeah I’d love to see you do character analysis once you finish Bleach!
You should talk to Mespy about bleach he basically just speed ran all of it and his videos and yours have been amazing to watch and see y’all go through a series I love so much. Anyhoo love the videos keep up the awesome work.
I’m pretty sure the shikai release requirement to experience Aizen’s illusions was either always a red herring or completely irrelevant after Aizen achieved bankai. I do not recall seeing the fake “water” release as the reader/watcher, but the body illusion from the Soul Society Arc and all of Aizen’s other illusions are still directly visible to us as the audience. I think Kubo would have kept it consistent rather than having to retcon that, since us being under his complete hypnosis is canon like [REDACTED] redacting [REDACTED]’s name in the early chapters while Ichigo trains with Urahara in the first arc.
Knowing what we know about "the heart" in Bleach, I wonder if at 1:50 that panel "I can almost reach your heart" had a deeper significance than just a simple threat? Just conjecture but I've not had this stuff on my mind so heavily on a read through, and there it is right after his last big battle, where ulquiorra could almost reach their hearts. There's usually some kind of understanding Ichigo gets about his opponents while fighting them, and here it could be Aizen saying you're almost there with me, but not quite? Or is he just shit talking again?
@mult1versal so what? She was manipulated and played like a fiddle by the enemy, and attacked a superior officer and friend with intent to kill. A basic psychological assessment would declare her unfit for duty in 3 seconds, and if i were Yama i would have her detained on suspicion of high treason anyway.
@ by this logic you should also detain kenpachi for attacking tosen, shunsui and ukitake for attacking Yamamoto, Renji for attacking Byakuya, or literally everyone else who fought somebody during the soul society arc
Personal take, I believe that we were given a hint in the anime as to when Aizen started using his hypnosis, which was when there was a flash of white when Komamura tried to get Aizen, but that's just a personal take, and I'm not sure about when Momo suddenly got pulled into the mix. If anything, now that I think about it, and this is assuming Momo actually hasn't achieved Bankai at this moment in time, during the fight with Halibel's fracciones, we saw (in the anime, not sure if this was the case in the manga) that Momo seemingly deactivated her Shikai for a moment, only for her to use Tobiume again without even calling out its name, which is something only Soul Reapers who have attained Bankai could do. So, if Momo had yet to achieve Bankai, that means that Momo's presence was already being manipulated starting from that point on. She might not have even been wounded by Ayon :v but idk, crackpot theory right here. All with the assumption that that one scene with Momo activating Shikai without calling its name might mean _something_.
I do kinda love how the espada are dead, Tosen has just died, the biggest in threat has just popped in out of nowhere and Aizen is surrounded by high level captains and Gin's just sat there on the side like "lol"
Side note Unironicaly momo is considered one of the most durable ( both mentaly and phisicaly ) in the manga People actualy believe that if she were to train into some hand to hand she could become a female version of yama 😂
(Not really a spoiler because the only answer is that WE NEVER GET AN ANSWER): My best guess for the switch after many, many years is that Aizen did something to Momo's Lieutenant badge, allowing him to switch places in a pinch. Some Kido enchantment. There was focus on how she'd donned the badge for her return... The question is always when he activated it. There's no Homunka mark on Momo, so it wasn't between stabs from Soi Fon. It can't be before the stabs, because Momo wouldn't have survived two (durable as she is). Something had to cast a shadow on the ice for Shunsui to use his power. So someone was THERE. But his outfit doesn't appear damaged later...though it's possible he swapped with Momo, healed himself, fixed his outfit with a spell, and then sat up. That's the best I've got.
Now that you mention how long in advance Aizen prepared the use of his shikai, his plan to some extent depends on the Gotei 13 being a rather unchanging, one might call it conservative (I mean this in a neutral sense, please understand this separate from real-life politics), organisation. He put them under his spell a century ago but if the personnel was replaced on shorter timescales, he'd have to make a show for every one or at least every new member ever so often, which would have been much more suspicious. In part this is justified by soul reapers being basically immortal (even though they do seem to age), so it makes sense that such changes happen over much longer timespans than in the case of human organisations, which makes this conservative nature part of the worldbuilding. While Aizen is also absurdly strong, his plan could not have worked the way it did, had he not put the entire Gotei 13 under his spell. Another consequence would have been that there'd be less of a justification for Ichigo's role to be exceptional.
This video got recommended to me out of nowhere so i was just wondering if you were reading this in color or black and white since you used colored panels in the video, if you are reading in color then i would recommend the black and white version since kubos use of black and white is leagues above any other mangaka
They were already losing but I think the fact toshiro lost it sealed it, and the next fight will prove my next words, when facing Aizen don't succumb to emotional rage

@@nahte123456 Not sure your confusion. Was just adding another to your list to further your point.
Bro wake up, another agamotto video
Since when did you think Kubo wasn't going to traumatize Momo.
“She’s been through enough. You hear me Kubo? She’s been through enough” -Agamotto FTRB #32
Aizen is just the GOAT antagonist.
I saw the title card and said oh poor Momo and poor Agamotto, duped again I see. Fooled by the most broken ability, Kyoka Suigetsu, as were we all
Gin ichimaru :"That’s right.
I love how aizen still has time to stare back at ichigo while battling everyone like you want some of this too?
He could've been trying to see if Hitsugaya can progress like Gin did
Soifon: has a broken ass shikai
Aizen: "ahhh but have you considered: no"
I think the switch happened after Soi Fon used suzumebachi on Aizen.
You have no idea how much I was pulling at my hair watching the Aizen fight for the first time. A true Brain Breaking scene for sure.
Just saying Momo took on like 5 captains before coming down she’s tough
I think we can all agree : Aizen is a master baiter
Thank god you understood that Ichigo could have been screaming for minutes but thanks to Kyoka Suigetsu nobody would have hear him until Aizen wanted to. Many don’t get it
Readers/Toshiro: What did Momo do to deserve this?
Aizen/Kubo: Exist.
Tōshirō's scream after stabbing Hinamori hits so hard in Japanese (sub)
Along with fully hollowfied Ichigo scream against Ulqiorra as well the last Bankai activation from Ichigo from original Bleach
This is what I was waiting for ever since you posted your "First Time Reading Bleach #9"..
I will say the smackdown that was dealt here made me feel that "everything is lost, you're not winning this one" sort of dread
HE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IIIIIITT
Poor Toushy-chan easily gets taunted every time Aizen speaks. His blind rage, despite being called a prodigy, is his downfall.
I mean blind rage, seeing rage, it didn't even matter he had no chance regardless of how he took it
another shinji foreshadowing is how he wrote his name backwards when he introduced himself to class
I never even thought about the fact the Aizen probably prevented the captains from hearing Ichigo’s warnings.
Since when you were thinking that I'm not gonna click into this video the moment I see it.
Another great video ❤
And yea, when ichigo yells there, everything just snaps into place, loved it 😅
Aizen was just practicing his Substitution Jutsu from Naruto 🪵🗡️
Been waiting for this one very impatiently lol
Hey hey hey I saw that Smallville pic, you can’t hide Michael Rosenbaum’s bald head from me
I was waiting for this from the first time you spoke about Aizen.
HEY BRO, would you do a mayuri fashion analysis?
Some day, for sure :)
Nah wait till we get to TYBW
@@Honest_Mids_Masher Exactly. It’s too soon.
The colored manga looks so good, what a good work the "painter" did
Knowing what we know about "the heart" in Bleach, I wonder if at 1:50 that panel "I can almost reach your heart" had a deeper significance than just a simple threat? Just conjecture but I've not had this stuff on my mind so heavily on a read through, and there it is right after his last big battle, where ulquiorra could almost reach their hearts.
There's usually some kind of understanding Ichigo gets about his opponents while fighting them, and here it could be Aizen saying you're almost there with me, but not quite?
Or is he just shit talking again?
I'm pretty sure that Kenny never got tricked by Aizen's shikai and even if he did, his instincts are so insane that it wouldn't bother him.
Still wondering, after 15 years, wtf had the brilliamt idea of taking Momo along.
she's a lieutenant and she wanted to go 😭
@mult1versal so what? She was manipulated and played like a fiddle by the enemy, and attacked a superior officer and friend with intent to kill. A basic psychological assessment would declare her unfit for duty in 3 seconds, and if i were Yama i would have her detained on suspicion of high treason anyway.
If I recall, she went by herself. Rangiku was surprised to see her in the battlefield as well.
@ by this logic you should also detain kenpachi for attacking tosen, shunsui and ukitake for attacking Yamamoto, Renji for attacking Byakuya, or literally everyone else who fought somebody during the soul society arc
@@mult1versalHeck, one word from Kenpachi is all you'd need to know this guy is unfit to take into battle because of how unpredictable he is.
and the funny thing about Aizen is that he's so powerful he honestly doesn't even need to use the illusions half the time he just does it for funsies.
These were the moments, I remember watching that for the first time, mindblown.
If Aizen genuinely scared you and gave you irl anxiety due to his actions on the page, I can't wait to see your reaction to the Lost Agent arc
I do kinda love how the espada are dead, Tosen has just died, the biggest in threat has just popped in out of nowhere and Aizen is surrounded by high level captains and Gin's just sat there on the side like "lol"
This is why Kubo’s the Goat🐐
The Silas reference caught me outta left field lol
I’ve seen much in this life. 😉
Side note
Unironicaly momo is considered one of the most durable ( both mentaly and phisicaly ) in the manga
People actualy believe that if she were to train into some hand to hand she could become a female version of yama 😂
Kubo actually confirmed that Ichigo was screaming and aizen made sure they couldn't hear him
absolute cinema
Bruh you have no idea how many times we could have made jokes about momo give the stuff you say. It was hilarious
Fun Fact: this is the only thumbnail he’s made where all the characters (character) are in black and white
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THE NEXT VIDEO YES
Aizen is the greatest villain ever.
Oh boy I love these videos
Hit them with the good ol‘ „since when where you under the impression that i wasn‘t using kyoka suigetsu“
Oh boy. Probably not the next video but the one after that. Looking forward to your reaction to that
Kyouka Suigetsu definitely tops as being among the most dangerous, and Momo is quite durable even with the trauma.
Ichigo going for the one shot only to fail.
Totally has this instinct again.
Totally.
There's a reason why Momo has long been known as "Lieutenant Pincushion"
I have been waiting for this video to happen
Yea he was trying his best to call out to them out but yea Aizen dulled everyones senses so they couldnt hear Ichigo at all
This video got recommended to me out of nowhere so i was just wondering if you were reading this in color or black and white since you used colored panels in the video, if you are reading in color then i would recommend the black and white version since kubos use of black and white is leagues above any other mangaka
Momo is truly the most enduring character of Bleach. Bodied by the entire Gotei 13 and yet she survived. 😅
It's crazy that in soul society, Aizen said that maybe Toshiro should be the one that should've stab momo, and now he just let him do exactly that
They were already losing but I think the fact toshiro lost it sealed it, and the next fight will prove my next words, when facing Aizen don't succumb to emotional rage
This right here is a moment I have been waiting for months. Your reaction to the Momo moment 😂
Now, there are a couple more moments after this I want to see your reaction of. "You are both a (redacted) and a..." iykyk 🤫😉
Aizen simply is THE GOAT
I know Aizen was laughing to himself about how he tricked Hitsugaya into stabbing Momo
remember when you said your ideal matchups and what you said about hitsugayua... now you know what we all thought of!
Aizen is Anime and Manga's very own Lucifer
