With Indigo, the first single from Dana’s upcoming album INDIGO, Dana Al Fardan is rewriting the rules of the neo-classical movement for the next generation. Dana's music articulates otherworldly auditory landscapes for empowerment and cultural preservation, drawing on the transcendental power and potency of music by combining classical compositions, contemporary songwriting, and electronic production techniques.
This debut track was recorded in Katara Studios, Qatar, and was a beautiful labor of love compiled from a variety of esteemed talents and artists; Grammy Award Winning Engineer Matt Howe who recorded and mixed, and mastered by Mazen Murad. Arranged by Sally Herbert, combined with the production of SINK (aka Nico Dalla Vecchia) pushes the boundaries of Dana's compositions with a more nuanced, contemporary approach, incorporating subtle electronic influences in the production, woven in between the neo-classical timbres.
The song itself was performed by the musicians of the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra. The music video was curated by Director Ramy Dance and recorded at London-based production house, Common People Films, alongside Producer Jake River Parker and Executive Producer Tony Roberts.
