@@terryperring104 if you watch him doing ziggy stardust song in 1978..1999..2002 so on ...you can see that he still had the "ziggy voice" i think that he just find the Voice that he was most comfortable with
@@jessica5497 #I know what you mean. But I think he was literally doing an impression of himself. The Timbre of his voice had totally changed in 4 years. I heard it was huffing cocaine. Not good for the chords. Elton's had that too, But David came off a lot better.
@@jessica5497 yes his Ziggy stardust voice would sometimes come out for a few seconds, like in his 1990 performance of Rock’n’Roll Suicide for example.
Been a Bowie fanatic for 40 years and STILL keep discovering amazing performances! He was the most prolific, talented artist EVER. I miss him so much. 😔
A truly mesmerizing singer, and quite a charming chap it seems in interviews. We shall all miss him for eternity.but, he left us with so much music, art, films, and memories to enjoy.
como te extraño Bowie. cada dia descubro mas y mas cosas de lo que eres y eras y nunca terminas de soprenderme siempre estaras en todo lo que soy. gracias

I feel like that, he was such a big part of my life, because of him , I changed, not like you first think, but in a way to make me see a different part of my self.
This is so beautiful! Are there more recordings of his older songs similar to that? His music is so wonderful, it doesn't matter when he wrote it, it grows with the years and even gets more relevance in an re-recording like this. I can't stop listening to it.
Acoustic performances (especially those performed by popular artists, as there will be many people at the concert) are still plugged in, but using acoustic instruments. This essentially gets a more natural sound, and eliminates distortion. ie, you can still have a bass. However, its also worth noting there are acoustic basses, if you want to see/hear one check out the RHCP acoustic performance of "Under the Bridge"; Flea uses an acoustic bass for the performance.
@ezaube1030 it's from a radio show that was broadcasted on bowie's birthday, january 1997. it has appeared on bootlegs under different titles. i'll send you a link in pm
The word "acoustic" is derived from the Greek word ακουστικός (akoustikos), meaning "of or for hearing, ready to hear" and that from ἀκουστός (akoustos), "heard, audible", which in turn derives from the verb ἀκούω (akouo), "I hear". Meaning the sound is pure, stripped down from noise and thus audible (in my -greek- language)
"When music is labeled acoustic, unplugged, or unwired, the assumption seems to be that other types of music are cluttered by technology and overproduction and therefore aren't as pure." Craig Conley
Great song and great voice, when I first heard Bowie I wasn't keen I, think it was space oddity, I was first hooked by China girl and let's dance, then I heard his early stuff, they are my favourite songs, love you till Tuesday and in the heat of the morning, I play this on my guitar but I'm not even anywhere near as good as he was, but who is! I've seen his live twice and I'm glad I did, he is and will always be my favourite attest, even more than, but only just above Toyah.
your explanation is probably correct However, whatever acoustic used to mean, you know as well as i do that it now denotes instruments played without needing to plug them in. Im not looking for an argument, just posing the question, thats all.

There's something very special in how Bowie's voice evolved when he got older, I love it.
It changed to this by 1976. Just 4 years from Ziggy. Coke? Gitanes? Descended testes lol

Un gisement inépuisable de chansons toutes originales,et sensationnelle
Love this version ❤
People stared at the makeup on his face
Laughed at his long black hair, his animal grace
The boy in the bright blue jeans
Jumped up on the stage
Lady Stardust sang his songs
Of darkness and disgrace
And he was alright, the band was altogether
Yes, he was alright, the song went on forever
Yes, he was awful nice
Really quite out of sight
And he sang all night long
Femme fatales emerged from shadows
To watch this creature fair
Boys stood upon their chairs
To make their point of view
I smiled sadly for a love
I could not obey
Lady Stardust sang his songs
Of darkness and dismay
And he was alright, the band was altogether
Yes, he was alright, his song went on forever
And he was awful nice
Really quite paradise
And he sang all night, all night long
Oh, how I sighed when they asked if I knew his name
Oh, that was alright, the band was altogether
Yes, he was alright and the song went on forever
He was awful nice
Really quite paradise
He sang all night long
Something, if not even quite a lot, will go on forever.
