Simply stunning. I must say that you make the most striking yarns always paired perfectly with a stunning pattern or technique. I must try this when I'm abit more confident. I love your channel.
It looks beautiful. I understand everything but where rounding to the nearest number of number 8 comes from though. Is it so the colors slowly advance as you knit? EDIT: I figured it out. 4x4 ribbing = 8 sts. You can't do 4x4 ribbing unless you have a multiple of 8sts. Seed stitch requires multiples of 2 and 8 is a multiple of 2 so it works as well. I guess the pooling happens because the stitch count is so close to the color repeat. It's a great idea. I love it!
I love the pooling effect and the different stitch for each color. I just jumped over to your site and ordered Dark Roast Sincere Sock and got this pattern. Can’t wait to see how it turns out with the Dark Roast colorway. I couldn’t leave without another colorway so I can make myself a super special pair of socks. Merry Christmas to me! Your yarns are so beautiful! Excited new customer here!!!
This is going to be a challenge for me, but there's a sunrise I have in mind....I wonder if, by the end of 2020 I'll be able to do it..... Thank you for everything you are! (Awesome, in other words!).
There was a lot going on with that, but it looks like a super fun pattern! One more for the pattern book to add! And , hope you’ve had their 12 days of Christmas song in your head today as that’s what the count is now. Merry Christmas!!!
This cowl is gorgeous and i can't wait to knit it up. I have quite a few skeins in different yarn bases from your online store, only need to figure out which one will work best for this. Btw, i love the drape that your yarns have, the fiber is just amazing, love each and every one of them!
lovely! Could I do this with a chunky yarn and needle? I have arthritis and large needles (size 10+) are the only ones I can use comfortably! If not, is there a way to create this same effect with crochet?
hello it's meeee again! would your Namaste pearlescent worsted work for this project (it has more than one color....so I am not sure if that would work?)
@@angeliney3155 It technically would work, but it does have more colors than what we used, so you have to decide if you want to use a third stitch or make two of the colors the same stitch. I hope this makes sense. 😊
Thanks Chandi. It wasn’t stated on the instructions where to start the cast on after determining how many stitches are needed. It took me about 6 tries before I got it right. Now I can’t wait to get it done 😊
That cowl is gorgeous! My daughter is obsessed with minerals/rocks, so this is perfect for me to make for her! Your dress is also gorgeous. Where did you get it?
Wow this looks beautiful! ❤ My adventurous brain is now very very thrilled 😅 and I have already done the guage 😊 but I have a question: I am trying to make a sweater body with this technique in the round so will the same method to calculate guage will apply or will there be any modifications? Thank you for answering!
I think you will need to use a multiple of your color repeat for the cast on since a sweater is a lot wider than a cowl. (probably 3 or 4 repeats depending on your size). The rest should work out similarly but I can't make promises. Have a nice day! 🩷
@@ExpressionFiberArts Oh thank you for explaining! So I have done one full colour repeat of my yarn with 20 stitches extra as specified and have counted the required number of stitches for a full colour sequence once is 96. Now, must I unravel and cast on the colour repeat of my yarn a few times again and do ribbing or I can just double the number of stitches obtained for the colour sequence once? For eg. let's say, instead of casting on the colour way twice and ribb I can say I will have 96+96 = 192 stitches and multiply it by 2 for working in round? Does the round off number remains 8 in any case and additional number of stitches for guage cast on still remains 20?
Hi Helene, thank you for your comment. The number 8 comes from the fact that one of your sections will be a 4x4 rib which is worked over 8 stitches. Hope this makes sense and is helpful. Have a wonderful day! 💕
hi! I found all your patterns beautifull ... I knit with acrilyc yarn dreaming that one day, I'll have some of your perfect piece of heaven!!! I will do all your pattern slowly but definitely. Can I just ask for ( if it's possible) one patern of shirt, vest.... It will be so much appreciated because I find the ones for crochet really beautifull. Have nice week-end and happy holiday!

Cowl is amazing, I like your videos but my first language is spanish so, I don't understand a lot of the terms you're using so I think wont be able to do it, seems to hard for me, further I'm just a knitter beginner.
So, sad. I bought the yarn and used your video to do the cast on. I'm using #5 needles and the amount of stitches I figured out to cast on were 192. But I am a clueless knitter and got help from my knitting friend. She pointed out that the cowl wouldn't be large and draped like yours if I only used that no. of stitches...so she added (in multiples of 8) more stitches. She also got me going on the pattern. But, it is not pooling at all. I have a striped cowl. One of my friend's instructions was to use the working yarn to decide on the stitch and I see in one of your answers that I should have been basing what stitch I use on the stitch I was working into. Anyway. I don't why it isn't working, but am giving up.
I'm sorry you were having trouble doing the pattern. This is more challenging than it appears, just because of the way it is worked up. Sending you love. ❤️
