Bizet would be so proud of himself for making this beautiful masterpiece....
He actually lived and died thinking he was a failure
@@pet_dadofficialchannel Yeah I totally didn’t just watch a Danno video telling me all about that
Wish Bizet knows his opera "Carmen" is now one of the most popular operas ever written.
He didn’t
I know. He died thinking he composed a failed opera because his fellow men (the French!!!) panned Carmen when it was first premiered. However, when Carmen was performed in Vienna for the first time, it was a huge success.
Today, Carmen is the most popular opera based on the number of performances counting from the first premier.
He knows in heaven
This opera is a very fast paced one with a great libretto and songs. One of the finest duets is with DonJose and Miceala. Haunting rhythm all abouta mothers love for her lost son. The friend is in love with DonJose but he never loves her back.
Carmen steals the show with Amore. She is the sexy women who always gets her man.
He went to his grave knowing that it was a failure. However, it did rather better in revivals.

This was my first opera as a child with (FGO). Years later, I became part of the same companies chorus! I was there for 9 glorious seasons.
I hope you did the original Bizet score, instead of this longer bowdlerized version.
@@melvynobrien6193 we definitely did not do this long version. As great as Carmen is,it’s long enough! :-)
se ha de sentir bien padre ser parte de esto
Carmen was my first introduction to the western world when i immigrated here. lol. so much talent. it was my favorite cassette tape when i was 6 years old.
No. company's chorus.
I played second violin in my local youth orchestra, amazing experience! You can´t believe how loud and powefu it is when you are in the middle of the musicians
i just saw the “new” modern production at The Met Opera in New York and didn’t like it, didn’t get it. Everyone was wearing jeans including Carmen. I had to come here to watch the classic. It all made sense to me at once. What a beautiful set and costumes! Bravo!
We're sorry that you didn't enjoy the rendition of the opera you attended, but we're glad you enjoyed ours! Thank you for watching.
The Met has produced some of the best Carmen of all time. My favorite was one in the original settings and with the traditional costumes. Sad that you saw the one in blue jeans!
How bad was the singing at the Met? I can't imagine the jeans make this music disappointing.
@@brankostojkovic1684 I thought Carmen (the mezzo) was superb, though I agree about the sets/costumes.
Despite the set was so simple, this is the best Carmen performance on TH-cam for me.
yeah this one is nice
She's very expressive!
I would argue it would be easier to properly film a simple set, the additional angles and camera work to capture a big complex arena set makes it much less relatable.
But yes, great nonetheless!
And not only for you ☺️
hahaha so you just saw this one i guess
Very good rendition. NOW i see why Nietzsche loved it so much. Was not expecting this level of quality after seeing a lot of versions. Thank you
Thank you, it's a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed the opera!
I hated studying Nietzsche while in college, mostly cuz I hated my whole philosphy class- it was all memorization with no actual discussion of the ideas. I still prefer to call Nietzsche "Nit-shiz". Ah, good times.....

Never heard of this company before but what a lovely production. Obviously, the stage is small and the producer worked with it. Good singers and chorus.
Aragón is a lesser known region of Spain ( orquesta Reino de Aragón) and Zaragoza is the provincial capital (Auditorio de Zaragoza) of 666.000 inhabitants. 😉
@@elenamarco4785 Elena, I know the regions and the city, both of which are beautiful. But the fact remains that this company is not the Liceu or the Teatro real. Which doesn't take away from the production.
@@georgesclermont1911 thank you for your kind words, Georges! We do encourage you to look up the Orquesta Reino de Aragón on social media and streaming platforms. We have shared quite a few of their concerts on our channel too. Any help supporting independent artists is greatly appreciated 🙌
I remember hearing the opening theme in Little Einstein when I was a kid and in FNAF and I finally found the original source material! This is so cool
Nietzsche brought me here. So many iconic pieces I have heard over and over my entire life, with no clue they were part of a single Opera.

Bizet is the GOAT 🤯
Aahhh takes me back to when I was 5 years of age when the Welsh National Opera performed Carmen at the North Wales Theatre, Llandudno. I remember sat there with my Mum & Dad, my brother was performing a sword dance along with other schoolmates. The WNO incorporated a performance from a local school that I attended with my brother. Towards the end of the sword dance the 8 boys, facing outwards formed a circle holding the wooden ‘swords’ they then turned around facing inwards still connected by the swords. After a few seconds the boys parted the circle leaving one boy in the centre holding up all the swords connected together forming an octagram. I was mesmerized. This memory returned to me 45 years later with me having in my hand some bamboo food skewers. I then proceeded to connect the skewers together to form a pentagram. This, within a few weeks evolved (with a little help from a bolt of lightning) into a structure that has fascinated myself and others since. My profile image you see top left is a product of the structure. So Carmen was the inspirational seed. I only wish I had come with the structure when I was studying architecture.
Thanks so much for the upload! One of my favorite operas..

You realize the opera came before FNAF right-
@@saystarzz Carmen was writen in 1875. Fnaf came out in 2014. Opera was a thing fot hundreds of years.
@@bcodaI agree
@yum9905 I think the mean that fnaf is how they discovered the opera, 1:50 is when the song most associated with fnaf starts, it’s sad that it is now a days only really know as ‘THE fnaf song’ but I mean, hey, at least this is still popular, even if it’s the doing of a popular book and game franchise, plus the trailer for the movie uses the song
