    The 981 Boxster S is absolutely superb.I've driven Boxsters and Caymans back to back at Porsche's Silverstone track several times, and there is absolutely *no difference° whatsoever. The only difference is that with the Boxster you can get the top down and enjoy open top driving, which is wonderful. I will also say this - a 981 Boxster S is better than a 911 (and I've driven plenty of 911s).. yes, it is!!

    I love both but opted for the Cayman because I lean more towards aesthetics and looks rather than having the top down.

      Good choice Tupher! They are both sensational so you can't really make a bad choice! Raj

    I’ve got a 981 Boxster S and in the US, the remote roof lowering was not offered-dang it! Love that capability! Both are brilliant cars but nothing beats top-down driving on a nice day with that flat wailing behind you!

      Thats a shame! Your car sounds epic nonetheless! Enjoy, Raj

      My 2016 981 Spyder unlatches the roof, unlocks the trunk, and rolls down the windows with the unlock remote button.

      You can purchase a SmartTop device if you want (and a moderately tricky install under the seat)

    I got the exact same spec minus PASM on the cayman. Recently added the Porsche sport exhaust and I look forward to driving everyday now lol. 14,000 miles in 1 year I’ve put on her and zero problem.

    I own the 2014 Boxster in Yellow. Im surprised they went with red tachometer and seat belts as yellow makes more sense. I have the PDK and never use manual mode as i forget to change gears and end up red line if i have the music up. I love 2nd gear as its the most responsive. Yellow attracts so much attention too. I cant drive one day without a comment or thumbs up and head turns.

      Thanks for the insights Kevin on your 981 Boxster. Valid points too about colours, but all down to original owners choices, which I suspect was a Porsche main dealer. Cheers, Raj

    What is the 981 to have as an enthusiast, ie.engine size, options & must haves ? previously owned 2.7 987 & loved it although it could have been better it was still fine.Last thing I want to do is buy the wrong one even if I had to brake the bank a little

      I would personally say the PSE Switchable Sports Exhaust makes the biggest difference on any variant. The 2.7, 3.4 S and 3.4 GTS are all sensational. I would go with the 3.4 S personally with the options of Hardback Seats, PSE, PASM, Chrono and PDK gearbox with Sport Design Steering Wheel and 20 inch Carrera S wheels. Cheers, Raj

    Well made & informative video. I am keeping an eye on the 918 Cayman market with a view to ownership in the near future, I found this vid very interesting & you obviously have a passion for these cars. I must keep an eye on your stock list.

      Thanks Martyn, the 981 Cayman market seems very bouyant, but then again so is the Boxster and 911 market too! All the best and hopefully be in touch at some point. Thanks, Raj

    awesome video! A constructive criticism I could give is - really hard to make out what you're saying in the driving section - road noise covers up the audio quite a bit.

    Don't the boxsters have a hard time cooling down in the summer?
    I live in the UAE where we usually average from 45 deg C to 52 during the summer.
    And is the road noise in the boxster with the top up louder than the cayman?

      That's right. In addition, mine has PTV and sports suspension (-20mm), but that's not the most important issue. The main advantage in comparison to the Cayman is the open sky with the really awesome sound. Incredible...
      Really good video. Thank you, Raj!

    Where did you get the work done for the cayman exhaust?

    • @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE
      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Richard, the work had already been done prior to my sourcing it, by the previous Porsche Club GB owner. I am sure there is a number of garages that could carry out this work for you. Thanks, Raj

    I loved the content. Currently, I am deciding between a 2018 Cayman S and a 2013 Boxter S. Your video was helpful, even though the Cayman S I am considering is a 718. Please work on your audio during operation of the cars. I really could not understand anything you said. It is very inexpensive to attach an external mic to your shirt and connect it to your camera/phone. I note that several others have made similar comments. Again, thanks for this very relevant (to me, at least) content!

      @MRSPORTSCARSPORSCHE  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comments, this was filmed a while ago, I now use a mic where needed. BTW if you are concerned about audio quality, I would steer clear of 718 4-cylinder as they don't sound like a Porsche in my opinion.

    Sorry but I couldn't watch the full video, I really think you need to wear a mic as the road noise was so loud i can hardly hear what you're saying so i stopped the video when i couldn't stand it any more.
