    Hi Alex, I was on kangaroo island that same week visiting family and my brother and I got a lot of fishing in, caught plenty of squid and big salmon in Kingscote and my PB silver trevally at 48cm and PB flathead at just over 60cm

    Great vid mate! One of my favorites of yours. Was that trip recent? I guess the salmon are still around then if it was? That Tommie was one of the biggest I've ever seen!! Lol

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Biggy Smalls Cheers mate, this was only last week! Hanson Bay always holds salmon, but you've got to be there at the right time. We got loads of tommies that size casting metals in the surf!! It was crazy aha.

    What lure
    For the beach fishing

  • @Nicholastriase
    @Nicholastriase 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey AlexsFishin im just wondering if you could make a video about using lures and soft plastics because i have hardly no idea how to use them or even how to work them and they sure look way more effective then normal plain old sticky gross bait...

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +NickyTV Hey mate, some of my latest videos show you how to use soft plastic lures, depending on what I target.. I make videos targeting a specific species and sometimes I'll run you through some of the retrieves and tactics! Thanks your the feed back mate, I'll try to produce more videos about using lures :)

    It's amazing how literally like 1 or two kilometers can make such a big difference when it comes to fishing. If you head to Rottnest island which is just off the coast of Perth the fishing is supposed to be some of the best fishing in all of WA.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Retz Very true Retz, we walked the whole beach flicking metal slugs out for nothing till we hit a school of small ones, which had a few bigger ones amongst them.

    • @666percentfishing
      @666percentfishing 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Retz Rottnest is abundant, and so are most other places nearby, rottnest is 20 km West of Freo, and there is alot of life there, as well as between the mainland and its shores

      dont catch and release squid its too hard on them if you dont want to eat them leave them alone the smaller ones will die of shock from the damage

    • @Alexsfishin

      +Ismail O Yes, I use 4-10lb flurocarbon leader for carp. 3 canned corn kernels on a size 4 suicide or bait holder hook.

    Great vid.
    K.I. is my favourite fishing spot, mainly at and around Kingscote and Chapman River, such a variety of species to be found.
    Next time you go, take your yaks, even more species open up to you. ;o)
    Keep 'em coming.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Slayer Propel 13 Thanks dude, it's a lovely place, we had our yaks down there and fished the local river. Caught quite a few bream on hard bodies!

    • @antonsyakkingandfishing
      @antonsyakkingandfishing 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AlexsFishin - Fishing in SOUTH Australia I assume that was Chapman River which leads into Ante Chamber Bay ? That's where I caught those ST shown on my Channel in my yak, some of them up to 750gm, but NO bream.

    • @Alexsfishin
      @Alexsfishin  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It was the South-west River which is in Hanson bay. Seen your videos, nice work!

    • @antonsyakkingandfishing
      @antonsyakkingandfishing 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +AlexsFishin - Fishing in SOUTH Australia - SW River is actually on my "to do" list for next trip.
      Try Chapman River next time you are at Penneshaw, only about a 15 minute trip out of the town, plus you can surf fish in the bay as well, and another good beach for beach and yak fishing is Baudin Beach, again about a 15 minute trip but towards Kingscote from Penneshaw.

    • @Alexsfishin
