Yes.... Bassa used to do all the big Town Hall sessions in London. Acton, Wandsworth all those places. At their best they were invincible. I remember they used to mash it up at Bali Hi in Streatham. Just think this was over 40 years ago..... The youth of today just cannot understand what they missed!
Great memories going to the dances and the selections and atmosphere was 1st class. Beres and his brother also had such lovely warm personalities too. 💕 💕

The one night I remember was a Cup clash at Dulwich army barracks , the judges gave it to Bassa that night...but was only up there with Coxsone and Shaka for a very short time..good sound but not the best..Glad he said that Lloyd Coxsone was a wicked selector because Blacker and Festus only talk about themselves as selectors..But some of my best times was listening to Lloydie or Denzil on Coxsone..
Denzil went on to form his own sound called exodus
This is Coarsey - tell Beris Bassa a lie him a tell ,Fatman won the cup at Acton Town hall - I was there. That is why there was a dispute because, personally , Fatman was the better sound on the night and his sound was more clean and he was playing-better dubplate.
Some of the back in the day sound don’t speak the truth every time you hear dem talk them a kill everysound and that’s not how it goes, we have witness fi dat and I wish the interviewer would press them a bit more. No disrespect but Bassa memory is a bit gone, him cyaan remember everything.
You must be a youth if you can't remember. Trust me... Moa Anbessa were the original sound killers. Once they string up the amps and they were ready and filled with evil intent. No competition could survive the onslaught!
